MCMC To Ban Phones Not Using Malaysian IMEi

Got info from a meeting of all Malaysian Telco with MCMC that all phones not using IMEI with Malaysian Prefix ( basically all AP phones, phones bought from overseas ) will be barred from using Malaysian networks.

MCMC has this software which all Malaysian Telcos need to be installed on their server which wil inform the relevent Telco of IMEI details and auto bar the said phones from using Malaysian network.

Which means even if you have bought a phone from overseas, AP set or even if you're working in Singapore and bought a phone there, you won't be able to use Malaysian Sim Card. Only way to use them is either roaming or to change your phone to a phone with Malaysian IMEI prefix.

Spread the word and pressure the MCMC not to implement this.Even the Telco reps opposed the idea. There is no justification for this in terms of national security, anti hacking measures just plain stupidity.
Possible Virus or Winxp error?

Hi everyone.

I have a problem with my second PC(referred as PC1), it may be a virus or a WinXp SP2 error.
Problem started when i tried to access AVIRA antivirus webpage.
IE and Firefox will close immediately at the website. Tried going to MCafee, Norton it does the same.
Apparently, it prevents me from accessing any antivirus related website.

My solution was to use another PC (PC2) to download the AVIRA setup files and transfer them to the PC1.

However, when i tried to install AVIRA on PC1 it automatically closes the program. It won't allow me to install AVIRA.

Online scanning doesn't do much as highlighted, IE or Firefox would automatically close.

Any ideas?

Thanks beforehand for all your comments
