Accident at CKE yesterday

Yesterday morning otw to in-laws house, was at left lane that merges to Cheras Kajang Expressway (near Cheras Central) suddenly heard non stop honking. Looked to the right and saw moto bodo being tail-gated by ketebodo (white BMW) with the driving pinning the hon to get lost. Eventually motobodo gave way, ketebodo accelerated and gone from sight within seconds. How fast was that, I wondering.

Minutes later, paid tol, and since TNG card payment was at the right, didn't merge to the left that soon, suddenly the same BMW slide in at high speed, whiffing the car by a foot or two, and again, gone missing from sight within seconds. In my mind while cursing for his godlike driving 180kmph skill, how the hell a car was still behind me after driving like going to laosai like that.

Then again, minutes later after the MRT Taman Suntex to Kajang Tesco (or Giant there?) suddenly traffic jam. So in my mind wondering what the heck happens since rarely in the morning will jam at the area. Lo and behold, an accident happened there and as Malaysians it is our duty to kepoh. Same white BMW (xx 7788) this time, front damaged and undrivable (i assumed). Victim is a terribly deformed Aruz likely sandwiched between the BMW and old Alza. Seem like got altercation where able victims want to whack kaw the BMW driver but was restrained from doing so. At the highway median, seem to have bleeding victims (children and some elderly folk) crying and lying down, hopefully not serious.

Now wondering who is the BMW driver is.... and will he walk away unscathed from the eyes of law (something very likely to happen). Inb4 no drillz, because waifu marah if drive and use phone.

New offer but sacrifice incoming bonus

Ok, so I successfully landed a job offer where the downside is they urgently need you in - to the extend of requesting you to resign one or two days from today and join the company. Say the salary increment would be like around 12% from current, and its a mid-tier management role.

Upside is the company has similar benefits to current company and work 5 days instead of six, and will be much more exposed to newer experiences. Downside is a jobscope is different and superiors may see me as a problem, will lose bonus (that average from 1~1.2 months) and the role is a 2 year contract in comparison to me prefering a permanent post. Actually no problems with current company, just lately feel salary isn't catching up and increment was very small over the years; could foresee in years to come spending power to worsen if didn't do something about it. Trying to put my foot down and try to negotiate for better pay and different join date, but have concerns it might jeopardize the offer.

Anyone with such experiences, and what did you do about it?

Artificial sweetener blend in most soft drinks now

Since at least 90% of Malaysians drink sodas, most of you would had probably taste the changes of our local soft drinks like Coke, Pepsi, 7up etc - with their drinks having lower sugar content and artificial sweeteners added on (check the ingredient list if you doubt so). Would drink around a bottle within weeks so noticed this few years lately, yet the taste had changed dramatically and always leave some kind of chemical aftertaste in the tongue. Pepsi especially, already tasted way off than the original sugar recipe ones - even tasting closer than Pepsi Bold.

Do you notice, understand and accept such changes? Yes or no, why? At this rate, all soft drinks will eventually taste like chemicals. Coke and Pepsi to date keep marketing their 'original taste', yet do you feel like tasting a cheap, fake ripoff of the drink itself? Or you think you are creme de la creme the moment you are sipping in that chemically ridden drink? We already had Bold/ Diet/ whatever version of soft drinks that are purely artificial sweeteners yet why still need to blend artificial sweeteners alongside with sugar?

Picked up injured teen pidgeon

Found a teen pigeon that on the road below condo. Struggling to stand and body keep tilting to the right side. Right wing seems speaded out, but couldn't contract like normal birds. Bring it up home, would drink but wouldn't eat those oats I placed in front of it. It just couldn't sit straight even when sleeping.

Any bird lovers have any idea what to do with this bird? And for animal haters, what do you do with it?

Baking Graphic Cards

As usual, AMD card died in 3 years time, very expected for AMD for its build lah.

Read online saying that cards can be baked to restore its capacitors or something.

LHDN PCB Issues

The current company that I had just worked for (around 4-5 months already now) received a letter from LHDN stating that my PCB deduction for Nov 2017, Dis 2017, and January 2018 to be at over RM800+ per month, amounting to a total of RM2600+. I do not understand why of all sudden that they require such high deduction in this 3 months.

It stated "Potongan ini adalah tambahan kepada potongan yang perlu diuat di bawah Kaedah 3, Kaedah-kaedah Cukai Pendapatan (Potongan Daripada Saraan) 1994. (Jika ada).

I really don't understand, presumably in that in the mid of year where I switches jobs and the latest job had made my salary tax tier to go up one level (additional 3%per month if not mistaken), how can suddenly I need to add RM2.4k in PCB? I just don't get why they are asking for such payments.

Update: Only knew its PCB38, which is even more confusing. Will be going to LHDN to enquire why, but anyone with similar situation before and do you manage to resolve this matter?

Mi Note Pro

Using Mi Note Pro, beautiful device but it does not have official Global ROM. Using unknown custom rom that is based on Android 5.1.1 and it functions just like the standard Mi Note global rom (can download Mi skins and use Mi Drop).

Lately it seems like the phone is buggy and it's quite bugged at times that I would want to smash that phone. It do la/stutter during gaming or even messaging which shouldn't happen due to their so called 'powerful' processor. Is it the software issue?

Anyone who has this phone model and had used other roms and it turns out to be much better? I am thinking of flashing other custom roms but do not know which to choose, also I knew nothing about phone software flashing.

Marriage date questions

Heard about the custom that couple that to wed are to select auspicious dates for the bride takeaway ceremony (where later the wedding dinner commence or not the same day is another story). Heard that there are sifus that will calculate those dates based on the couple's birthday, along with the relatives like parents etc.

Anyone can recommend such sifu and where to find them, and what are the rates like?

Eosinophils

Lately been running tired, felt like an old man despite my age and ran blood tests recently and tests results are pretty good except the White Blood cell, Eosinophils that has a 19.1% count (instead of a 0-6% reference range).

Doctor told probably it is from my sinus allergy and other allergies on certain fish as well and not to worry much about that, while when I googled it seems to be able to cause autoimmune diseases etc which I had no understanding about.

Anyone in medical field that can clarify on this matter?

Structural engineer or property developer

I used to be a civil and structural engineer for around 5 years until a property developer offered me to work with them but I learned nothing, hence I went to interview for a few companies that varies from property development and also consultancy firms. I was offered a job as an assistant project manager in the property developer firm at the same pay but they will add 5% upon confirmation - which I accepted pretty fast.

Just today when I started work, I got a call on my first day of working where the engineering firm offered a post as a senior structural engineer where they do high profile project design from established developers with an increase of 10% from current pay.

I am in a dilemma here as I pretty have the thought that I will be in a much better spot if I got my ingineur title (IR) to add value especially if I would want to jumpship in the future but as far as I had known property developments are very much about planning with less design, and I am kinda worried on the design part as I had gone rusty a little due to enrolling in other field for more than a year but I will have to admit in engineering desigm, it will sharpen my skills which are still purely structural or civil - while property development covers the time, cost, and liaison.

I would want to seek any bros who are once in such field, any input are much much appreciated, as I am thinking to do a 24 hours notice if I can see much future in getting my PE/IR first. Thoughts?

Got a call by some private number where the caller introduced herself (with some pakistani slang) as someone in Sunner Group International Bhd and she told me that I got a some kind of voucher to claim at this certain hotel where I will get some kind of 3 days 2 nights stay at some hotel/chalet as long as I spend 45 minutes with them.

Do some Google search and it shows some kind of shody shit there. Anyone received similar calls? What these buggers actually want la?

Funny thing is I do some job application for a company named Sunner and upon checking my job application list its gone already - probably where they got my number.

Forced Resignation Without Compensation

3 friends was asked to meet their new managing director and the next thing is they are given a resignation letter to sign off. They only give reason like the company projects has been mostly subbed out and have no more use for them, hence its better for them to resign on their own - but did not state what will happen if they do not sign.

All of them signed the letter as they are very blur, and upon reaching back to site office they feel very fooled - as nearly 60 people were made to resign the same way.

I heard from industrial relations (labor law) they can only try to make the employer to reinstate the position and salary of employees, or if the terms are not agreeable (not sure in what terms) then only they will issue the matter to the labor court which will take around a year to award compensation.

Anyone had such experience, or any labor lawyers could advise? I really pity this 56 year old worker, only given one month notice and he had only worked for close to 5 years.

Subsale house payment error

Good day serious /k.

It has been 3 months since I had get the keys to my house and yesterday after checking the SNP letter I found out that I had paid an excess of RM10k to the vendor. Here is the breakdown:-

1) House was sold at RM500k and agent fees was RM10k.
2) Agent wrote purchase price of RM510k and I got the 90% loan. Paid RM10k agent fees first.
3) After loan money released, lawyer missed out to take out the RM10k to return to me and gave to the vendor.

Now, will I be able to demand my lawyer to get back the excess amount given to the vendor? I know it is a bad mistake but I did not realized on the RM10k until I re read my loan agreement......

Can condominium management

There is this guard of this subsale condo I bought, he told my men not to paint the door, window and balcony grills. Even the walls outside my main door cannot paint!! What kind of management rules is this? The grills paint are coming off and the rust starts showing, and after all I am renovation my unit so its better to paint so wat....

Seriously, management have any rights to do so?

My recent Kopitiam poll thread about consensual sex on minors (which was supposed to be a more non-chalant-chat-oriented) was just deleted with excuse "Threads or posts pertaining to racial, religious, political or sexual issues are strictly prohibited in Kopitiam, Serious Kopitiam and its subforums. I was told to raise this issue to admin after questioning the acting mod on why others that did all the above and more explicitly could their threads active.

For all seriousness, there are real selective bias considering anyone that browse Kopitiam will easily find all those elements at the front page of Kopitiam itself. I thought that is the place to is a place to hang out and chat? I got my materials from a relationship forums, and got deletion in minutes time?

TV Advise

48" Samsung JU6400 uses Tizen and 50" SharpUE 630X using Android. Other than that I don't much understand the tech specs.

Took train LRT today. As usual mornings the train congested with people pressing against each other.

Then some petite chick appeared. Innocent face, slim body, perky, shapely butt underneath that skirt. The face she made when being pressed on while messaging her friends was so kawaii that I can't stop but to look and admire that gullible-ness.

I know news of Ronda's defeat via a kick to thee face was like days ago, but this by far was the most satisfying moment similar to watching Crocop kicking opponents heads off with his trademark Left High Kick - thus ending the hype of the undefeated queen. Don't get me wrong, I think she is really good at grappling but Holly read her strategies well and stick to her much superior stand up skills and eventually being crowned as the new champion. The moment Dana's butthurt max face was most satisfying - probably he bet big on his own cash train lol.

Summary of the fight:-

Obviously Ronda sticks to her style - blocking atacks with her face and throwing punches blindly when her take down attempts failed.

Straight punch wobbled Ronda, and in the midst of confusion Holly's kiss her goodnight with her trademark kick.

Dana's face close to tears upon his cashtrain getting KOTFO:

Most of Ronda's haters and lovers reaction when Holly's orgasmic left high kick sent Ronda to lower orbit.
