Living area using 2hp inverter aircond I think the quite saving (usually 2.5-4 ampere vs bedroom's constant 5 ampere).

Habislah if hot weather until September, should replace bedroom to inverter aircond?

Hybrid bi-amp receiver to single-wired speaker

Hi, I have Panasonic SC-PM39D micro hi-fi system which is rare hybrid bi-amp. The main receiver split the speaker output to different high frequency and low frequency, so I guess the crossover was done on the receiver itself.
Now I have a leftover good bookshelf speaker which has only single-wired input which I would like to connect to this Panasonic. I've tried to connect only either high freq or low freq output to the speaker, as expected the speaker only emits high freq or low freq.
Question: can I joint both high freq and low freq together to connect the single-wired input speaker? Doing so will it burn the main receiver as joining two outputs together? Any workaround to this setup?

Amplifier Speaker Out to Subwoofer Stereo RCA In

Hi, I have 2-channel Integrated Amplifier without pre-out or subwoofer output. The amp paired with bookshelf speaker with 5.15" driver which have limited lower frequency/less bass.
I have 1 unused "pasar malam" grade powered 2.1 subwoofer with satellite mini speakers, which only accepts stereo RCA input. I was thinking how to integrate this unused subwoofer into the current system to handle the lower frequency (it has fancy variable 50Hz-200Hz cutoff and output volume adjustment!), from google I saw there are "High level speaker input to Low level RCA output converter" tailored for car audio, something like this:
https://pac-audio.com/catalog/audio-interfacing/sni-35

Questions:
1. Can I parallel connect this converter with bookshelf speaker from the speaker out of my amplifier?
2. Car audio generally 4-ohm system, can this converter use for home audio?
3. Any concern I need to be aware? Will it fried my amplifier or bookshelf speaker? Frying the cheap converter is still ok for me

Thanks.

Hi all, I would like to try performance tyre on size 185/60/R15.
In dilemma now as I'm trying to maintain same aspect ratio while exploring performance tyre.
Reason is my current problematic car still under warranty, it's been through steering column, steering rack coupling replacement/fixed in this year. I don't want if (touchwood better not) steering component or suspension at fault again, SC got reason to blame it's caused by "thinner" profile tyre while I working at potholes road area. thanks.
so far i see all 185/60/R15 tyres are Eco-based, Yokohama ES32, Bridgestone Ecopia EP300, Michelin XM2. Performance tyre i mean like falken 914, kumho PS31.. don't see have this size..

Car scraping bump after change gas absorber

Hi, my polo sedan previously the front absorber are oil-type, i thought it was too soft, can be press down by palm and it would slowly rebound back only a very little bit (2-3cm). when i pull up the absorber, it will drop itself back to that 2-3cm position, not sure if this oil-type absorber works this way?

so i went to change polo hatchback original gas absorber type. When open box, the polo hatch absorber are very hard to compress (my palm was pain after testing), and it would shoot up super super fast after release compression, is that meaning a stiff absorber? compared both sedan and hatch absorber are having same length in body and shaft full extension.

after 2 weeks, i encountering a few occasion the car scrapping speed bump with my "usual speed". at first i though maybe drove too fast, but it seems more frequently the undercarriage was scraping speed bump. went to mechanic, he tested and he managed to hit undercarriage on all speed bump. he said the suspension was too soft, need time to investigate but today he's busy.

i was wondering how come stiffer suspension will scraping speed bump so frequently? it couldn't be the absorbers koyak in 2 weeks right?

Alignment service without adjusting camber?

Hi, yesterday sent my gen2 to replace all 4 absorbers. So after that went to a tyre shop for alignment. Was quoted Rm20 so I'm happy to proceed (usually I got 28 bucks, 35 bucks range).

So alignment man show me 3 sides camber were out. He say if want him to adjust, it will be RM25/side. I ask if he will add camber nut, he say not necessary just adjustment will do. So I was kind of shock first time encountering camber adjustment by charging price per side, usually just one lump sum 35 bucks for alignment without heard of camber adjustment.

After I reject him, he just go down like tightening some nuts, finish in 3 mins, drive my car out one round, then collect 20 bucks.

Result seems no changes, car still have minor steer to left direction. So am I kena conned?

Poor FM reception

Hi all, my VW Polo Sedan factory-fitted radio RCN 320 has poor FM reception since bought the car. The radio signal seems very sensitive, inconsistent while driving. All channels were affected, but some are better while some are poorer.

Sent the car numerous time to SC, some said antenna replaced, some said firmware updated, some said antenna cable rewired, but none seems to give improvement. I actually doubt if actual work done as we are not allowed to see how they work on the car...

So I got friend having same car and radio, we testing by tuned to same channel, drive for quite some distance (~50km). His radio's FM signal is far better with very less noise interruption.

So today I did experiment, when the radio signal is bad, i use hand holding the antenna, the signal instantly improved with louder volume without noise.

I have saw there's some FM booster on mudah, will it helps in my case? Any good audio shop in Klang Valley area good in diagnosing and fix my problem? The original radio has different connection socket (canbus type) which I think need some experienced sifu fiddle with it. Thanks.

Foreman told me it could be faulty, so I replaced with standard KYB. But google search I found some member mentioned Tokico is designed harder than standard KYB/original Toyota. It wasn't as hard to compress as in the Youtube Video below which people say it's heavy duty model, so looking for new owner whom appreciate it for sports-spirited driving.
engine noisy and timing belt came off...

hi, these few days the old car was very noisy, sounds louder than old lorry, so today send to workshop for checking. Mechanic removed all the v-belt then start engine, still got the noise. After remove timing belt cover, when cranking engine, the timing belt immediately came off! It seems all the while the belt was very loose and it's holding by the timing belt cover. Mechanic then do slight visual inspect and said it's caused by the water pump's bearing. But it was already evening so they'll continue the work by Monday.

did a quick browse on the net, seems more timing belt loose problem are caused by the bearing, instead of water pump's fault, so what do u think? now i'm worrying the noise is actually from internal engine problem, maybe valve bend caused by loose timing belt run so long?

Battery draining even turned off

Hi, recently I found my laptop will charging the battery every time I turn on the power supply, and Windows will show around 85-87% battery available after 20-24 hrs of unused, around 75% after 3 days unused. Usually I will shut down the laptop, and also unplug the power supply, so I guess nothing will consume the battery, right?

However, if the battery was taken out and left 3 days, it will showing full and laptop will not attempt to charge it. So what problem is this?

Toshiba Portege T230 bought just 4 months.

Thank you.

Hi all, recently in msn messenger, I had twice received the weird website url sending from 2 different friends when they're offline (see attached picture). I have contacted them and it's confirmed that they're not sending me any message at that time.
So, is that their msn account being hacked or my computer is infected virus/spyware?

Laptop processor too hot?

Hi, my laptop processor is intel pentium dual core T2330, 1.6GHz. Last time I'm using SpeedFan 4.33 (if not 4.32) to detect the temperature, it shows the core 0 and core 1 temp is around 40'c under normal usage.

Yesterday I format and reinstall the windows, then download again the SpeedFan. Saw the fan icon is different, so I think it's a newer version (4.34). I was shocked when I saw the core 0 and core 1 temp now is around 53'c. It is a huge different! But the cpu fan seems running smooth. Today use the laptop whole day also temp is around 50'c-55'c under normal usage.

So now I got no idea it's my CPU problem or the newer version of SpeedFan report data in different way. Please advice. Thanks
