e-Invoicing for freelancer with foreign clients

Hey guys, I'm a freelancer working with foreign clients (mainly in the US). I'm under phase 3 implementation, which means I need to start using the MyInvois portal starting from 1st of July 2025.

I usually invoice them in USD, then they pay me via Wise. According to LHDN's guidelines, I should create an e-Invoice in the USD currency and pick an exchange rate from a platform of choice to use.

The problem is that Wise charges some amount of conversion fee that I absorb. So for example if I invoice $1,000 at exchange rate of 4.4, I don't get RM4,400, I get something like RM4,350 because of RM50 conversion fee from Wise. So how do I tally these amounts? Or is the MYR equivalent not a big deal for an invoice issued in foreign currency because of conversion fluctuations?

The way I see it, there are a couple of options:

1. I invoice as usual using my own format, then once I know the final amount after Wise transfer is in, I create the e-Invoice after the fact with the final amount.

The problem here is I'm not sure that this is allowed.

2. I invoice using e-Invoice, then after the Wise transfer is in, I revise the MYR equivalent amount in the e-invoice via debit/credit note.

This seems to be the sanctioned/approved option, but it's obviously twice the amount of paperwork on my end

3. I invoice using e-Invoice and don't care that there's a mismatch between my estimated MYR vs. the actual MYR amount that I receive.

This is the least amount of work for me, and it'd be nice if this is indeed acceptable because it's only natural to expect foreign exchange rates to fluctuate a little bit after issuance of e-Invoice.

EDIT: I received an email response from LHDN. We don't have to do anything special.

Since a foreign payer cannot issue a self-billed e-Invoice, the obligation remains with the Malaysian taxpayer to issue the e-Invoice to the foreign payer.

In your case, you should issue the e-Invoice based on the invoiced amount (in MYR equivalent at the exchange rate on the invoice date), without adjusting for the Wise fee or any exchange loss.
The difference caused by the Wise platform fee is considered a normal business expense or foreign exchange loss and does not require a separate e-Invoice.

I've seen mixed reviews on Google about whether they're legit, but their prices severely undercuts so many other sellers that it doesn't make sense unless they're smuggling liquor.

Has anyone bought from them before? Are their stuff legit? They don't take credit cards, only direct bank transfers, so you can't dispute with CC company if their stuff ends up being not genuine or rebottled.

Hey guys, with minimum wage rising and shit like that, ayam have no faith in MYR and want to move more cash sitting in FD or current account into USD for the near term.

Can you guys recommend low-risk, SC-regulated ways to do so?

Why SC-regulated? Because I already have IBKR with some long-term ETFs in there with 10+ year horizon, this is only for near-term cash that I expect to want to use within 5 years and so I don't want to run into trouble getting cash out quickly when needed.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading to a new phone and thinking to get it under the Zerolution plan since I already have Maxis family plan with Share 48 share lines which are eligible.

The visit comes as the US Treasury has increased its focus on terrorist financing through South-East Asia, including through fundraising efforts and illicit Iranian oil sales, the source said.

The US Treasury in December imposed sanctions on four Malaysia-based companies it accused of being fronts supporting Iran's production of drones.

Washington has recently imposed further sanctions targeting Iran, including over Iranian drones used by Russia in the war in Ukraine, as the United States has sought to ratchet up pressure on Tehran after its attack on Israel.

Advance payment for semi-flexi loan

Hey guys, I have a PBB islamic semi-flexi property loan, and I have slowly paid a few lump sum payments over the past year to offset and lower the chargeable interest.

My questions are:

1. Since these are considered advance payment, do I still need to pay the monthly repayment (for example 2.2k a month or something)?

2. If I choose to pay off the loan balance but I don't want to close the loan account, is this possible? Meaning I keep the semi-flexi loan account around as an overdraft facility of sorts, and I don't need to do anything anymore every month.

I use a Philips pressure cooker at home bought in 2018, and don't have an air fryer. A friend recently bought a Ninja Foodi "multi cooker" thing that has 3-in-1 functionalities:

1. Air fryer
2. Pressure cooker
3. Steamer

Anyone know if this brand is any good in MY? Reliable with good aftersales? Or should I just buy separate air fryer like Philips?

Going on a West Malaysia north-south journey soon with my parents and we're of different opinions on which car to bring.

1. Honda Civic FC 2018 1.5T

+ My car, well-serviced, low mileage.
+ Has Android Auto / Apple CarPlay (big plus — can see Google Maps/Waze on infotainment screen)
+ Roomy
+ Comfy seats and suspension
- Smaller size
- Worse handling?

2. BMW 523i F10 2011 2.5NA

+ Better handling obviously
+ Slightly more power than ketam (270Nm vs. 220Nm) but 0–100 same because of heavy weight
+ Big boot (good for shopping )
- M Sport suspension so can be quite rough ride
- NO CarPlay (big minus — cannot see map must mount phone like )
- Lots of mileage (150,000++) scared breakdown on highway
- Car was lowered (will scrap speed bumps in KL??)
