FoodPanda : Someone just used my email to sign up

I am a bit rattled by the experience, and just want to check with all of you sifus if there's some scam going on that I'm not seeing.

Someone just used my email address to sign up for a new Foodpanda.my account and placed a self-pickup order paid via online transfer.

Looks like they used some RM10 voucher (probably from new account sign up).

I have taken these steps:

1. "taken over" the account using the forgotten password feature going directly to the website found via google: foodpanda.my
2. used a randomly generated password from my password manager that is not used on any other account
3. changed their phone number to some random number (not mine)
4. changed the first and last name from my name to "FAKE ACCOUNT"
5. Forwarded the order email to support@foodpanda.my telling them the account is fake and the order is not made by me.
6. There isn't an option to cancel the order, just a "Reorder" button.
7. I will never ever use Foodpanda in my life, in case they have the access to the account since they have the app installed on their phone (presumably), and changing the password may not have kicked them off the app.

Why would any one do this? They can randomly use any email address to get the new signup offer from what I can tell. There's no need to actually find and use a valid email address.

How on earth does Foodpanda allow email sign ups without an email verification check.

Recently, heavy rain has caused my gate pillar light bulb to fail due to water leaking onto the CFL light inside.

Are there such things as waterproof CFL lights for outdoor usage?

Noisy Grundfos Pump

Hi guys,

I have the Grundfos CH2-50PC installed bought from Zheilwane.

At first, it was rather quiet and only can hear a hum when the pump is in use. Now, after about 2 weeks moving in, the pump has become rather noisy.

I did empty the water tank a couple of times, once to clean it and again when I installed the water filter.

Any ideas how I can get it back to the quiet hum again?

Unifi vs Maxis Fibre

The underlying network is the same right? Maxis is just re-distributing the TM fibre network?

From what I can see, Unifi seems like the better value because it includes HyppTV.

Unifi:
RM149 for 5Mbps (60GB d/l limit), free phone calls to fixed TM lines (quite a lot of phones are on TM), HyppTV.

Maxis:
RM128 for 4Mbps (30GB d/l limit), free phone calls to fixed Maxis lines (not that many people have Maxis land line?), free phone calls to Maxis mobiles.

or

RM158 for 6Mbps (60GB d/l limit), but no HyppTV.

Insect Screens

Anyone using this DIY range of insect screens from Elegant Screens?

I saw them at Homedec, and wondered how lasting can it be? It's all held together using 3M double sided tape.

http://elegantscreens.com/elegant/index.ph...d=58&Itemid=123

Cheap though, compared to RM11 psf they were quoting if they come make for you. Another company quoted RM8.50 psf for the magnetic type.
Replacing staircase handrail

Hi guys,

Currently, my stair handrail looks like the attached photos. I want to replace the metal handrail with a wooden one. I'm not intending to change the balustrade, and just change the handrail.

[attachmentid=2493283] [attachmentid=2493292]

I guess I need to saw off the current handrail from the posts (only mounted at the top and bottom of each flight of stairs), and weld on a new metal bar at the posts, and then mount the wooden handrail on top with the bottom cut out to fit around/over the metal bar?

Question is, do I need a newel at the landings in order to make the 90-degree turn of the handrail? I'm thinking that it's not possible to just use a mitre joint at the 90-degree turns at the landings with this sort of rounded handrails?

[attachmentid=2493293]

Doors

Hi guys,

Front door, room door, toilet door, kitchen door.

Where do you source your doors from? I'm looking to replace all doors at my house. Pricing is a big factor for me.

So far, I have a quote for RM490 for a room door inc painting, regular door knob and installation. It is a mixed wood door. Reasonable price?

Keeping in mind toilet door needs to be water proof. Aluminium doors? I got quote of RM800 per door. Seems rather pricey!

My back door is exposed to the elements, so better to have those security doors? But those have to hack the walls in order to make room for the larger frame right?

The door shop lady recommended some sort of weather resistant water proof door that is not made out of wood but some sort of composite material, she mentioned cement and plaster, but I couldn't quite follow what she said. Will have to go back for clarification. Anyone knows what this is?

Thanks.

For electrical rewiring, let's say I was quoted RM45 for each lighting point, and RM70 for plug points.

The question is, does the RM45 include installation of light fitting?
