What's your opinion on open relationship?

Hi all, just want to get a general consensus on how people here feel about the idea of polyamory or open relationship?

It's okay if it's not something for you (most likely it's not) but what I want to know is, do you see it as a valid lifestyle choice for some people. Like if a close friend or sibling is curious polyamory or considering an open relationship, would you feel concerned for them and would want to advise against that?

Or do you see it as just an excuse to sleep around or taking advantage of your partner? Or some may see it as a underlying issue of not actually being attracted to your partner or not loving your partner romantically.

What I realize in general is the most people, even if some do acknowledge their desire for engagement (physical or otherwise) outside of their marriage/relationship, but simply cannot accept if their partner were to act on it. Hence the compromise of monogamy?

For the purposes of discussion, let's exclude "cheating" and dishonesty between partners. Those are objectively bad as is.

Massage center bankrupt

In 2018, i bought a massage package from Amante Aman Suria like pay 3k for 5k worth of services. E.g. 90min body massage cost 120rm.

Now we have around 1k credit left, today called to make appointment found out they are bankrupt and MIA.

This kind of case what people do usually? I wonder people that have more than few K credit, what can they do.

Couples counseling & therapists

A few questions on couples counseling and therapists. Preferably with some input from own experience.

1. Is there a difference between counseling and therapists?

2. Can I assume that sex related matters also inclusive or only if they explicitly mentioned "sex" in their service description?

3. Will they be able to consult on each individual's psychiatry?

4. How to know whether professional consultation is needed in the relationship?

5. What is the appropriate expectation for the outcome of getting counseling/therapy?

6. Do you believe in external input to resolve inter-personal issues in couples?

7. Any service in particular you would like to recommend? PM me if you wish not to publicize here.

Thanks in advance for your input. A bit on me, me and my wifey of 9 months are in a deadlock. We are unhappy in the relationship and every time we talk about it, we see things almost always the opposite way. Even if we are willing to compromise, some key issues we have a completely different opinion. And our love language is also seem to be not in sync. I do believe something CAN be done to get us back on track, but again, we don't seem to agree on that either.

My gf (her mom actually) bought a Myvi (1.5 SE) in 2014 with loan for 9 years.

But her interest damn high 5.7%. My gf said because her mom got it for zero downpayment. But now her mom is MIA and my gf is stuck with the car paying 670RM per month.

Is it possible to refinance the loan or something? What are the options?

I'm driving Proton Iriz 2016 and staying in Penang?

Yesterday my friend reversed my car against the wall and the bumper corner got scratched and that side the bumper misalign with the body a bit. Not flush. So we need to go fix that. And got previous damage on the side skirting (below left rear door) after my sister hit some divider. Though maybe can settle that together.

I never brought my car to any shop besides service center and car wash. For this kind of damage, what kind of shop to bring my car too? Frankly speaking, I'm not very sure of the difference between mechanic, workshop, car accessories, body and paint shop.

Also if you know any specific shop in Penang/Bayan Lepas area, that would be great,

P.S. If you don't want to believe it's my friend and sister caused the damages, it's perfectly fine by me.

As per title,

I've been using HERE all this while and I'm some what content with it bar the performance in tracking the car accurately (sometimes 50m behind actual).

Since I moved to Penang, I realized there is no traffic info available which I have previously found useful. Since the Waze app has been sabotaged by Google, is there any other hidden gems I should give a try?

Gf might be pregnant

There might be a strong chance my gf might be pregnant. We are only uni students and we can't afford to deal pregnancy. Our parents will be devastated and my girl has serious life issues. She's been through hell on earth, she's been through hurting herself and pregnancy will just kill her. Her mom will definitely kill her. Her mom is a legit psychopath.

I'm freaking out guys.

We practice safe sex. We use condom also I don't finish inside. And 4 month we've been together, we only had penetrative sex but 4-5 times. Between her last period till now, we had sex once, but unprotected, but i didnt finish inside. But she's 2 weeks late now. She mentally brokedown (this happened before).

We have no access to town or city privately because her mom is around. I also don't have car to drive her. We planning to go to uni clinic tomorrow. But what if she's pregnant. Please tell me the options, i'm losing my mind. Our studies are also in jeopardy. We are third year Engineering students and we cant afford to mess it up. Having the baby the not an option. I understand the ethical standpoint, having the baby will ruin 3 lives including itself. Furthermore our parents will face hell too. I'm desperate.

Laptop model recommendation

I'm looking to get a laptop, around ~~2.5k, preferably lesser~~ 2k. Currently I'm thinking of either Lenovo or Asus. Is there any reason to get any other brands?

Usage wise: General use. Not much gaming, don't mind l4d2 on med or fifa 14 (and 15 so on) on low graphics.
Portabililty: Not really an issue. I'm fine with average laptop thickness and weight
Size: 14/15"
Budget: 1.5k to ~~2.5k~~ 2k (looking for bang for buck and long-lasting)
Features: Not required but some SSD storage and backlit keyboard would be a plus. Optical drive not needed.

Also if I get a DOS laptop, is it simple to install Win7/8? Because i can get windows for free from my school.

And, recommendation on sources to buy laptops from. Should I go to lowyat, or buy online or any Challenger or ThunderMatch will do?

My malaysian made Dell Studio 1435 was finally put to bed after missing out on its 5 year anniversary by 4 days. Graphic chip failed in december. After replacement, failed again last week. Repairman in lowyat said expectancy of replaced graphic chip is only few months.

He recommend me getting laptop w/o Nvidia/AMD graphic card, he suggest me to get one with Intel (i assume integrated). What do you guys about this? Is it a good idea, in terms of usability and future-proofing?

I'm looking for long-term usage and reasonable budget. Appreciate build quality and sturdiness.

1. Preferred Brand: Open to suggestion
2. Budget: Not willing to go overboard. Less than 2k if possible. Will consider up to 2.5k
3. Usage: Medium performance for programming and engineering software. Watching movies. Photoshop and video editing but not intensive. Gaming not priority
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15

Today 26 Feb 2014, after I completed my law test for my driving licence around 11am, i think i may have dropped my IC inside or outside the test center. Sorry I don't know the address of the test center because I was brought there by my driving school in Semenyih. All i know is that the staff in the test center were wearing MyEG shirts, and can see Batu 9 Kopitiam sign from there.

Sorry I don't have any special drillz for /k/ but I'd be happy to pay to whoever manage to find. I'll PM the details of my IC if anyone willing to help. I know this is long shot but I'm left with no choice.

Good place to settle down?

My parents have been working overseas for a very long time. They are not PR so the plan is to come back to M'sia very soon i.e. after they retire. They sold the old house we had before we left M'sia so now they're looking for a place to settle down when they return.

Their budget for a house is around RM500k-600k. Now the decision is to choose the location. Considering both family sides of my parents, we have relatives almost everywhere along the West Coast, so that's not really a factor. So considering safety, accessibility, neighborhood, cost of living, futureproofing etc, can you guys give me a few suggestions?

P.S. Maybe this shouldn't necessarily be in Serious /k/, but this topic can generate a lot of material for many /k/tards to capitalize on, too many for me to inb4
