MALACCA (Feb 7, 2014): The RM40 billion project in Malacca known as Melaka Gateway which will be launched by the prime minister today will open its doors to visitors in 2018.

The 609-acre project which is being developed by KAJ Development Sdn Bhd (KAJD) will see the first phase attracting some 900,000 visitors during the first year of operations, said KAJD CEO Datuk Michelle Ong.

The 1.6 litre twin-scroll turbocharged BMW-PSA Prince mill, in 156 hp and 240 Nm form, gets plonked into the automatic variant, which comes in six-speed form, while the six-speed manual transmission is available in the 200 hp, 275 Nm version.

Available in two variants, the six-speed automatic comes with an on-the-road-price of RM218,888 and features a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that produces 156bhp and 240Nm of torque.

The six-speed manual priced at RM223,888, delivers more performance - 200bhp and 275Nm of torque from its 1.6-litre turbocharged engine which has variable valve timing and lift technology.
