Hello all,

I'm getting some quotes for my built-ins and feature wall.
Wanna ask, usually melamine or laminate is better for kitchen?
HDD problem

Hi all,

Recently I've build a new PC and installed windows on my new m.2 SSD.

I've got 2 HDD which both have operating system (7 years old and 10 years old).

I've set the bios to only boot from my new m.2 SSD (disabling the other choices). However when both the HDD are attached, nothing boots and getting to the bios takes awhile (all devices appears in the bios).

Through troubleshooting, the problem comes from the 7 year old HDD which was the main drive from my former PC.

Any idea how to get it up and running?

Hi all,

Would like some advice to upgrade. Budget 2-3k

Lots of excel, so I guess ram and ssd upgrades are unavoidable. occasional gaming (maybe like twice a year so no need high spec graphic card), with 2 monitor set up preferable.

i have a work laptop hence fast docking/switching for monitors/peripherals could be useful.

Intel Xeon E3 1230V2
Asrock B75 Pro3-M
Gskill 1x8GB DDR3 1600mhz Value Ram
WD 1TB Caviar Blue HDD
Liteon 24x Sata DVDRW
Enermax NAXN82+ 550W PSU
Sapphire HD7870XT 2GB DDR5

BIG 4 VALUATIONS VS CORPORATE FINANCE

Initially posted this in the big4 thread.
I feel like this is going to be no doubt CF>Valuations but I want to get more info.

SO, I got offered Valuations and Modelling services in one of the big 4 but planning to switch to Corporate Finance in that same big 4 instead but I'm not sure whether it's a good move.

I was under the impression that Corporate Finance is under Financial Advisory when I first applied but I was told by HR it was a whole different division and I will need to be interviewed by by the head of corporate finance.

Funny thing is I did my interview with 2 partners at the same time, Partner in Financial Advisory - Valuations and Partner in Financial Advisory - Corporate Finance.

I am also under the impression that corporate finance in big4 is what it says it is, not some scam .

And under the job description, Corporate Finance guys do valuations too. So its save to say that CF is more like a front office and Valuations is the support (?)

I maxed out my linkedin search this month already so I can't do anymore people searching.

Would appreciate any advice, opinions and insights.

1) growth
2) exit opportunities
3) day-to-day
4) workload
5) size of team

Goals:
1) stay competitive for M7 (wishing for too much?)
2) Learn as much as possible
3) not sure about end goals yet, probably cop dev/fund manager/PE/VC/HF (??????) so best to keep as much doors open as possible

drug

SUBANG JAYA: Two schoolboys were among 16 people arrested under suspicion of peddling drugs in Bandar Sunway, here last week. One of the boys, aged 16, was detained at a street corner on Tuesday, where police seized 251 grammes of cannabis from him. Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Azlin Sadari said police believe the student had been a pusher for a while. He was waiting for customers when he was detained by a team of Narcotics Department officers about 4.40pm. Another student, aged 17, was among 12 youths detained in a follow up operation three hours later at a condominium unit nearby. There, officers found a total of 444 grammes of cannabis stashed inside one of the unit's toilets. "The 12, many who are students of several colleges in the Klang Valley, were detained to facilitate investigations. "They were arrested under suspicion of pushing drugs, and we are working to ascertain who among them is the pusher," he told a press conference at the district police headquarters today. Azlin said that earlier on the same day, a police team nabbed a 24-year-old man about 1.20pm, also in Bandar Sunway, and seized a total of 521 grammes of cannabis from him. Police also seized a Perodua Myvi, where he stashed some of the drugs. He said police's anti-narcotics operatives on Thursday nabbed two more men, including a 19-year-old foreign student, and seized 10.4 kilograms of cannabis from them. Police also seized a Proton Preve in the bust. Azlin said the drugs seized are estimated to be worth RM33,000. All 16 suspects are being remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Read More : http://www.nst.com.my/news/2016/08/162094/...s-bandar-sunway

comments?

since nobody replied to my question in the unifi thread, so I'm gonna start a new thread.

want to replace router.
some specs:
Using VIP 10
minimum of 8 device connected at all time
wireless printing and external harddisk, 2usb preferable
the android media box(stream from internet one)
sharing media through wifi (something like that) with hdd
and i'm a pirate

but still keeping the budget as low as possible, is it too much to expect?
recommendations are welcome.

SUNWAY VS BAC VS ...

I'm planning to take on a business degree in a university which offers twinning but I don't know which university to go to.

BAC does 1+2 and 2+1 in an affordable price, but how are the lecturers? BAC is famous for their law tho. I'm thinking about the PJ campus, not the KL one.

Sunway does Lancaster (3+0) and VU (2+1/1+2), i heard Lancaster > VU.
Lancaster gives 2 cert upon completion ( 1 from sunway, the other from Lancaster ) but people say that the Lancaster cert is just a cert of recognition instead of a cert of completion. I might be wrong.

What are the other college available? I am considering to transfer on Year 3. Thanks.

Things to consider:
1) either 2+1 or 1+2 or 3+0 would be fine.
2) I have a brother currently studying in LSE, the closest UK university that BAC provides a transfer is Kingston University if i'm not mistaken.
3) is the Lancaster cert > Overseas experienced + BAC cert?
ICE set up?

Hi,
I'm driving a Nissan Latio 1.6 (before facelift), everything stock.
http://paultan.org/images.paultan.org/imag...ang_6_Large.jpg
Planning to upgrade the audio part cause it seems to be the most reasonable thing to upgrade first, at least for me.

Did some research and I saw this:

QUOTE

Pioneer DEH-80PRS head unit and sound processor ($350), which seems like the most affordable device that gives you good equalizer, active front, etc (if buying new).

Alpine MRX V70 5-channel amplifier ($300?) with a StreetWires ZN3KI-04 or similar amp wiring kit. Very small, efficient amplifier, with a good amount of clean power. The full range channels run the two front woofers and tweeters. Alternatively, have the tweeter running on DEH-80RPS built in amplifer, and use a 4-channel amplifier to Power the woofers and subwoofer with two channels bridged. Good options are PPI P900.4 or Alpine MRX-F65 (the later is more preferable IMO but more expensive).

Alpine Type-S SWS-10D4 subwoofer in a 0.5-0.75 cu ft sealed box ($150+shipping with box). Alternatively, an Infinity Kappa120.9w 12 inch subwoofer in a 1cu ft sealed box. Depends on how big box you can have. If you can Build your own box, try a an Alpine Type-R 8 inch in a 0.5 cu ft box tuned to mid-30s (check the looong R8 discussion on this web site). These are good subwoofers for sound quality and will get loud in a ported box.

JBL MS-62C speakers ($200-ish).

Each one of these components has received good reviews.. The JBL MS speakers seem like the best value entry level SQ speakers right now. There is a recent review in the member review section.

Have a limited budget around rm1000-1500 as I'm still a student (eating cup noodles everyday just to save up ), not gonna burst someones wallet. and I'm funding for many other things, like my camera
I will be changing part by part if it shows improvement each time I upgrade it . (am I asking for too much?)

Things to note:
-*I DON'T KNOW HOW ALL THIS WORKS*
-Budget will expand over time, but I'm don't know by how much, so best bang for the buck works for me.
-ya just give me the best bang for the buck, but no cap ayam
-I don't need a nav system or a back cam
-I'm currently using CD's but i wish for other alternative such as aux or usb
-Bluetooth is a not a must, but it would be a great plus as I always wanted to answer my calls without touching my phone (with such adapters) http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120RFASWC/Axx...er.html?tp=3405
-Thinking of sound proofing the car but I think it's abit too soon?
-Ignore the pricing in the quote, it is way lower than the price in malaysia
-Maybe try to be abit honest? don't just quote me with what is available in your shop (I know I'm asking too much but at least try? )
-Alternative suggestions if the part is not available in your shop
-Oh and I'm okay with anywhere as long as your shop is still in Klang Valley
-I posted here as I want in detail guides and discussions
Thanks alot sifus

ADD: I forgotten something..

- My ride: Nissan Latio 1.6
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQL
- File format/medium used for my source: my phone, or CD
- Music genre: Mix and match some pop and edm (follow trend ), old songs ranging from metal (METALLICA \m/) to chill oldies, jazz , live performance, psychedelic music . basically everything lol.
- Budget: for now 1000-1500
- Setup type preferences: i have totally no idea.
- Other requirements (if any): stated above.

I've seen some people who drive the same car as me got Pioneer AVH-X8550BT installed with steering control. Is this a good way to go?
