PC Shutdown/No Display

Hi,

I highly appreciate all you PC masters out here to assist me with some PC issues i'm having.

I am having some PC issues where it will sometimes randomly shutdown/bsod/no display.

When it does it will keep attempting to auto restart.

The PC was self built, and working fine previously. All parts are brand new with exception of the GPU.

Recently I just added a New (second hand) GPU but it was tested working fine with uniengine, furmark, and various games for over 2 weeks.

This issue started this Sunday when my pc suddenly shutdown while watching a video. When I rebooted my BIOS or Bootscreen (Not sure which one but I recall it tells you your hardware) had a message saying your PC has been shut down due to unstable power supply.

Then from then on it will sometimes randomly shutdown (Randomly when loading game), BSOD (Randomly and when loading game), Monitor will say 'no display' (when loading game).

I forgot to save the BSOD details and I am currently reading up on how to troubleshoot that. But I hope someone can figure out or has had a similar experience can tell me what to do or what is wrong.

I have a power regulator and it is telling me the voltage is 220v (a little on the low side) even without anything attached and using the power. Will this affect my PC ?

Hi, I was hoping someone here can help me out with deciding what would be the best motherboard and Graphics card for me.

Please bear with me as I am new at all this, been using a laptop all my life :/

I intend to build a budget gaming rig with the Intel Pentium G3258. I also intend to overclock it. After reading through quite a fair bit of guides I found out I can OC the G3258 with a non 'Z' series motherboard.

that bring me to my first question I have narrowed down my options to 2 boards:

Question #1

MSI H81M-P33 (RM 188 Jayacom)

Which of the 2 boards would be better and has been proven to be able to OC the G3258 ? I have seen a review on the MSI one but for the Asrock I have only seen people claim on forums.
Another thing that concerns me is the 'Asrock APP store' It seems to be like useless software bundled that I would probably not use. Is there anyone who has an Asrock mobo with that feature that is able to explain what is it all about or if I can opt to not have it.

Another thing I kinda like the looks of the Asrock board :/ thats why I considered it. yes i intend to have a windowed case.

Question #2

I intend to get a 720p monitor and do gaming in 720p (cause 1080p monitors are out of my budget atm) the max budget I can afford for a Graphics card atm is RM 650

I am looking at the AMD Sapphire R7 260x OC 2GB (RM 420 Jayacom) and the AMD Sapphire R9 270 Dual X OC 2GB (RM 605 Jayacom)

Will I be able to play (for example) BF4 on the R7 260 at close to max settings on 720p resolution ? or does it not work that way ? (by downsizing resolution to improve Graphics quality)
If so will the R9 270 be overkill for 720p gaming or is it a good investment for when i upgrade my system a year down the line ?

I intend to upgrade the mobo and cpu in the not to distant future hence I decided to invest more in a solid GFX card.

Any thoughts, opinions or constructive criticism on this is highly appreciated.

Hey guys , i would like to ask if any of you know or have attended any Japanese Language courses that's recognized
by Japan ? For example can be used for job applications etc .

I've Heard of ICLS and that they offer JLPT tests but their website never state how much does it cost and is is good as in the learning environment , teachers etc.
I've also heard that they are very expensive , but this is all hear say , is there anyone who has attended or know any further information ?

Also does anyone know any other place in Selangor / K.L that offer Japanese language classes ?

Another thing i want to ask is I've heard of some companies offering Study Japanese in japan , can these be trusted and do any of you know
any good ones where i can try to apply ?

I got a call from a promoter after installing Astro beyond tealling me about this maxis broadband for 10 Mbps for only RM 140 + plus free installation and free modem

My questions is , is it good ? i mean why so cheap ? Unify same price is only 5Mbps

plus the installation free , but if i need to pull cable longer (assuming its like unify) do i pay or is it free ?
cause unify give first 15 feet free only , how about maxis ?

currently i'm using Screamyx 1Mbps and i plan to upgrade

Power Problem 32" LED + 1 laptop = Blinking Screen

So as the topic above describes i have a problem with my current setup

Firstly i have a 32" LED TV and a Laptop on an extension plug on the same socket

Occasionally when i turn on the ceiling fan (wall switch) the screen will blackout and turn on again (like disconnecting HDMI and reinserting)*
At times its when my Aircond is running and when it (idk how to describe it pump turns on ? sounds like changing gear) my screen will blink (ref above)*

The thing i'm having headache with is , its not always , and sometimes when i dont turn on a fan or my Aircond doesn't 'change gear' my LED also blinks , though occasionally

Previously i used an old laptop (dell ) which is half condemned and i have no problem with the blinking LED (on same setup)
but then when i plug in my new laptop then i get this problem (probably didnt notice , but i remember watching one whole movie with no issues) , and i cant check again cause now this laptop (dell) somehow cannot connect anymore ( no signal detected) so i cant test this theory

I'm totally new at building gaming rigs so i thought i should drop by here to ask for some suggestions

What i want is a small compact gaming rig and i dont really have a budget atm (just planning) , but lets just put it at RM2k w/o accessories

What i had in mind

Specs :

i5 processor (cause based on what i understand i dont really need i7 unless i want my game to insta load)
some new cool gfx card that will enable me to play games at high to med quality for at least 2 years (not gonna stinge on this , preferably something that supports high res HD)
16 gb ram
x2 HDD , one SSD only for os and another 2 tb for storage
A decent sound card

Dont really need a casing as i plan to self make one
and yeah as you can tell i really dont know much about latest stuff thats why i'm here for some advise

and i would prefer the mobo to be as small as possible w/o sacrificing much on the graphics

Suggestions , recommendations and advise much appreciated

p.s i would like to have an original w7 x64 os , how much does that cost ?

WTA Lappie problems Cant boot

Well i have this old dell XPS 1645 and have been searching for a new mobo for my lappie .

I have this problem where i cant boot , it wont start at all .
When i press the power button i can hear my dvd drive making some sounds like it does when starting ,
all my lights power on ( backlite keyboard ) external buttons etc .

but it will not restart .

recently i removed the HDD to extract my files , and tried starting it up without the HDD but same thing .
Then after reading some guides on the forums , i decided to pull out my mobo battery and then tried rebooting (still without HDD)

to my surprise i got a message on the lappie screen
I just wanna ask for some advise as to what this message means , is my mobo still functional ? or is it totally busted and requires a replacement ?
And lastly what can be done to fix it ?

I tried calling dell the told me mobo problem need replacement and everything in RM 1500 .. that was last year , i told him nvm

As topic states , i'm currently looking for a way to store 3 tb worth of my data on the web
This is because i am going overseas to further my studies , and i have a lot of data in non portable external HDD's (the 3.5" ones)
and i dont have much baggage space to bring them with me .

I am looking for a way where i can make my files available on the internet accessible only to me , are there any ways / online solutions to my problem ?

I considered trying to set up a home server but i cant get unify and i'm currently on 1mbps screamyx connection and the upload is too slow
and i considered online file hosting such as mediafire , but my files are too large and uploading them will take 10 years

This is a very unique problem and i hope someone can help me out .

Does anyone know where i can find any local people / company providing server hosting for a reasonable cheap price ?

I'm looking for somewhere to host a small private minecraft server , as my own computer i laggy and to host for 5 ppl , my 1 mbps screamyx cant upload fast enough

the server connects via hamachi , and my server file size atm is about 47 mb only .

other file hosting websites charge alot just to host a server and i dont need such a big server .
just enough for 5~10 ppl at max

as the topic says is it possible to disable completely my edge connection on my phone (iphone2g) as it keeps downloading useless stuff even thought i'v tried every means of disabling any internet usage .

i got burned once 600 bucks cause i was stupid , and now i'm trying to find a way to cancel my internet connection ...

I'm under a supplementary digi postpaid line , so is there anyway to do so ?

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Wednesday
Problem frequency: Every 15 seconds ..
Problem description: DDL 5 times slower , torrents not moving also darned slow , when play game it indicates my line problem every 15 sec or so ... cause world of tanks has an indicator telling you your line health , also my msn dc's every 5 sec ... well maybe every 10~15 or so .. irritating !!!!

Using 1mbps package

ddl from MF 36 mb tell me need 7 hours >.> move around 4kbps @.@

P.s previously have problem connecting to router but now resolved about 3 months ago .

Cannot connect to router ~~

Problem details
The problem is that , every time i want to connect to my router i have to reset the router to be able to connect
If i dont reset the router , my lappie will say , connected with limited access ... but i cant even access my router ip

but once i reset my router its ok

its been happening about a month now already , not sure why , i'm back only during the weekends and normally use uni wifi during weekdays ~~
occasionally i leech internet from my friends lappie via lan cause he has umobile

Additional information about my lappie's wifi stuff , running vista , I'm using open dns ( not sure if its the cause but it doesn't seem to be) , my parents lappie can connect no problem ..
Just recently updated to vista sp 2 with all the bla bla stuff for windows live messenger

any help /suggestions on how to solve this issue is much appreciated
