Any experience in Alipay transfer from China

Hey guys.

A client in China wants to send funds to my Malaysian personal bank account directly using Alipay. However, I'm not even sure if this is possible.
If it is possible, how long would the transfer take, and how much are the fees? Is it comparable to EFT?

I know nothing of Alipay. I tried Googling, but can't seem to find the necessary information.

Thanks in advance for your help.

ps: If it matters, I have no bank account in China, though I have bank accounts in a couple of other countries.
CIMB Sucks!

CIMB sucks!

I've been using Paypal for about three years, and I've always found them to be efficient, and prompt whenever I require assistance/clarifications. Once, they even reimbursed me $2 (I forgot whether it was RM or USD) when their Singapore office kept me on hold for too long. I've regularly withdrawn money from Paypal into my Public Bank and Hong Leong Bank account.

The money almost always clears on the third working day, at approximately 11.30am daily. There was a delay with Public Bank once, when the funds took four days to clear, but their staff was responsive and someone from remittance actually called a couple of times to kept me abreast of the developments.

Enter CIMB. I opened an account with them several months ago primarily to organize payment for a new insurance I took up with MAA. I subsequently decided to make Paypal transfers to them, rationalizing that it was safer to use multiple accounts for transfers. I immediately noticed that their clearance took an extra day longer, and only clears between 3.30pm- 6.30pm. Two months ago, CIMB took five days to clear one particular transfer from Paypal. But I foolishly persisted with them, as I was keen to maintain an account with a third bank.

However, that decision came back to haunt me.

On May 10th, I made a Paypal transfer to CIMB. By ordinary reckoning, the funds should've been credited into my account on Tuesday (May 15). It wasn't.
I called them on Wednesday (May 16), and the staff immediately asked me to check with Paypal. I asked whether they're going to investigate from their end. I was informed no. Meanwhile, Paypal confirmed that the transfer was made on May 10. I called CIMB back again, and the staff told me to check with Paypal. I insisted that they investigate from their end, and after being kept on hold for an accumulative 40 mins while the staff consult her supervisor (six times), they made a so-called 'report'.

The funds still wasn't cleared on Thursday (May 17), and I called CIMB again, only to be told yet again that I need to check with Paypal. I asked on the status of my report, and was told the process would take 14 days. I made it clear that I wanted someone to call me the following day. The staff assured me that someone would call before lunch the next day.

It's Friday and no one called before lunch, and the funds has yet to be credited into my account. Eight days. To add insult to the injury, I had made another transfer on May 15, which also remain uncleared. I called them this morning, only to be put on hold and the line was disconnected after about 12 minutes. At about 5.50pm, someone from CIMB's Customer Resolution Unit called, and can you guess what they told me? Check with Paypal. The staff insisted that Paypal was at fault. I asked the staff if Paypal, a multi billion dollar company with a reputation that far exceeds CIMB was defrauding me, and she said maybe.

I am very annoyed, and intend to write to their directors and the press. But I thought I should share this with others, so everyone would be wary of CIMB.
