Car Lock

Hi all experienced and inexperienced forumers,

I just bought a second hand Wira from my friend. 1997 Proton Wira. The lock really sucks so I'm thinking of changing it.

How much would it cost to change the door lock + ignition lock + boot lock?

Roughly how much would everything cost?

I'm located in Miri but would just like to know market price so I don't get conned.

Recon Engine

I'm in need of a temporary car for the 1 year period that I'm studying. I'm looking around for a few cars right now and I came upon this search of this 1997 Wira.

It is being sold for 9.5k, inclusive of road tax, transfer, and insurance.

I checked the price of a Wira from second hand car dealers and the price ranges from 5k to 11k.

The only thing with this car is that the engine was changed like half a year ago and it is a recon engine. The owner doesn't know much about the recon engine, only that the price is around 2k. And well so far everything seems ok. I checked the acceleration etc was manageable (not as fast as ori wira but not slow either) and engine noise was not really that loud. (Similar to normal old Wira but very minimal sound from the inside). The paint on the outside of the car also not cantik anymore. Bubbles and stuff.

I believe the owner since he's a friend of mine and I highly believe he won't cheat me. But some things he may not know, I would like to hear it from the pros (which is you guys in the forum. )

My major concern is about the engine. Will it last long enough for the next one year without any problems for me or even when I sell the car back in 1 years time?

My 2nd concern is about the paint. Any future problems will I have with bad paint? Or should I get a respray?

My Questions:
1) What is the normal lifespan of a recon engine (sold at 2k)?
2) Is the value of the 1997 Wira increased or is it decreased with this change of engine?
3) Should I spray the car or not? (I'm only using it for one year)
3) Should I get it?

Hi to all the pros here.

Currently, I am finding for a "retirement plan" which includes insurance as well.

By retirement plan I mean a plan that is like :
1) we pay a fixed amount (assume rm100/month) every year for xx(assume 10) years and get a high return.

I'm not sure whether it's called a retirement plan or not.

I'm also looking for insurance which covers a medical card.

Recently I passed by an Etiqa branch and had a talk with their members....

They gave me 2 different plans (no idea about the name of the plans)...

First plan :
This plan I had to put in ~5k every year (each month around 400) for 30 years. Every 3 years they will give a payout of 10k....
They also provide insurance (which does not include a medical card)
Downline : I pay ~150k and get back ~130k + insurance coverage throughout the 30 years.

Second plan :
This plan I had to put in 100 every month for 30 years, and get a return of 59k at the end of the 30 years. I am given the flexibility of pulling out the 80% of the money...
Same insurance provided as first plan. (according to that guy)
Downline : I pay total 36k and get back 59k + insurance, with the only drawback being I don't get extra money out every 3 years.

Now I'm finding something like the 2nd plan that gives me a high return of my savings. (way higher than FD).

My question now is...

1)are there any fine print towards the 2nd plan?

2) Any better plan which includes a medical card?

My age is 20 coming 21 this year. Hopefully someone can help me out here.

Question about Scams

I am new here and this is my first thread. I would like to get a few answers.

1) Why are police reports useless against scammers?

2) Even if we have proof that the guy scammed, and that we know the details of that guy, why is it impossible to catch them legally?

3) What is the legal punishment (supposedly can be caught)?

4) What are the procedures to ensure legal captures to be done on scammers?

I'm a newbie here and hope the seniors could help me out.
