The museum was still closed acccording to someone on Trip Advisor in August.

USM still advertises overnight tour packages on their site but I have foreign guest for whom they charge Rm $1,000 Local prices from Rm$ 120

Hello. Anyone been on the Guangzhou-Beijing 11 hr D924 or D904 night express train? One ticket agent shows sleeper berths but the others, only seats. Is there any way to confirm they exist? I can only find sites to confirm the train number but not what facilities.

Has anyone tried the coloured rubber loops sold for travellers? They look more portable than a TRX or the type with handles. Would just one, probably the strongest, be enough for simple hotel room workout? The whole set gets pricey.

How or where can I get bulk plain Vitamin C at low cost?

I used to get large 1000 tab containers of locally made Vit C but pharmacies are now repackaging and jacking up the price. If you look at USA, eg Costco, Vit C is cheaper than potting soil in similar quantities.

I'm not interested in fizzies, time release, roses, etc. just plain chemical is fine!

I have made good use of these two free apps on Android. Trip Advisor offline city guides very helpful combined with Yelp etc. TripIt copies details from your email confirmations and lays out everything in convenient format with reminders.

Tips for TripIt: If you register with AirAsia, use a "branded" email like Yahoo Gmail Outlook etc. Local small ones cannot be scanned for automatic itinerary setup.

If your AirAsia is already registered under a local email then either open a new Air Asia account, or for new trips, change each traveller email notification to an accepted email address, or directly to plans@tripit.com Even your old trips can be logged if you go to AirAsia Manage Trips and re-send notification with the changed the email.

Any other helpful travel apps to recommend?

Most blood LDL test results from clinics are only calculated from a mathematical formula. Medics in media say if your LDL is not the harmful type, no need to start harmful statins which are so commonly slung out here. Need real test done, not guesswork.

I asked one neighbourhood clinic and they said only can be done in Singapore for Rm150 on top of normal charges.

Does anyone know a lab that can do as part of normal test?

Email scams coming again

It's starting up again. I got this via my cousin's email, all the addresses and signature phone numbers correct, but the wording exactly like others found by Googling Manila Police reports (looks like they ignore, too many complaints). If you get this, don't reveal any personal info.

This message may be coming to you as a surprise but I need your help.Few days back my family and I made an unannounced vacation trip to Manila,Philippines. Everything was going fine until last night when we were mugged on our way back to the hotel.They Stole all our cash,credit cards and cellphone but thank God we still have our lives and passports safe.The hotel manager has been unhelpful to us for reasons i don't know.I'm writing you from a local library.

I don't know whether any such specialists in KL or maybe one of you has had good treatment for a foot problem and can recommend.

I think there is a tiny deep splinter of glass or wood in my toe. It causes a corn and sometimes has pus if I irritate it. Corn removal liquid does not go deep enough. It will probably need an x-ray to see if something there, and it is near a toe joint, so surgery might be tricky.
