Hi Guys,

I need some input on whether to leave my current PLC company or join a new GLC as a Type-C.

**Current Position:**
I am currently working at a Malaysian family-driven PLC that is quite diversified into many industries, including property, construction, hospitality and manufacturing. I have been with this company for 8 years and counting as a permanent employee and have received two promotions, the last being in 2021. Currently, I am second in line in my department.

Over the past years, my annual increment has been around 3-4%, and my bonus has averaged about 3 months. Additionally, I am the sole breadwinner, as my wife stays home to look after our kids.

**GLC Offer:**
I have received an offer from a Malaysian GLC with about a 25% salary increment and fixed allowances. Being a GLC, the benefits for my family and me are incomparable to those of a PLC, especially in terms of healthcare. The GLC has been paying around 4-6% annual increment and a bonus of 1.5-1.7 months on average, which I will also be entitled to.

The position is for Head of Department and is a 2-year contractual employment with an option to renew, which raises concerns about job security. However, I like the job scope and the opportunity for career growth and advancement, as I would be tasked with setting up the department, which was previously outsourced.

One of my main concerns is the need to adapt to a very different culture, values, and attitudes of people, as I have been reminded that coming from a PLC to a GLC requires significant adjustment.

I appreciate your thoughts and advice on this matter.

I'll try to keep it short.

Current company:
1) been with them for about 5 years
2) was promoted once after 2 years joining and yearly bonus and increment has been on the top side among those in my colleague
3) was also identified as the HOD successor in the future. As the succession planning, I'm now undergoing rapid leadership training which the company invested a lot.
4) company don't fail to give increment and bonus despite the pandemic and no pay cut.

Another Company
1) HOD position
2) Offered me a hike of 25% and another 15% fix benefit.
3) Was told most of the midlevel staff is going through 20% pay cut since last year and I may not be excluded from the cut in the future if the company still in red

My take:
1) current company really like what I'm doing and trying their best to groom me for the next level
2) current company still have HOD and a GM above me
3) current company have a good practice continuing giving bonus and increment although they go through a bad year
4) another company is giving me an instant promotion and a significant pay hike
5) risk of 20% pay cut in the new company
6) job security will also be a concern if I move to the other company, as usual, last in first out

So guys let me hear what u think.

Current Job (A)
- Property Developer in SG
- Internal Audit AM
- Making 7.5 in salary
- Average increment at 7% per year
- Average earned bonus for the last 3 years (7 months)
- Free shares from the company average at 13k / year
- Quite hard to move up as the department is quite full of M and SM and also company is trying to reduce promotion due to weakening property market.
- Stable and quite comfortable job 9-6 usually
- 40% travelling overseas

Job Offered (B)
- Property developer in SG
- Internal Audit M
- Offered 12k in salary
- Average increment (2-3%) *performance based
- Average bonus (1-3 months) *performance based
- Leading a team of 5
- Has potential to go up as the position is reporting to the HOD.
- 10-20% travelling

* Points to consider
- starting a family travelling might be a major consideration
- Job A is much more stable and even without promotion they have good increment and bonus
-Job B offers a better salary but don’t expect good bonus and increment unless it’s a promotion.

Unifi bitcomet & torrent throttled

Hi guys i've been using the 5MB package and i was getting 500kb download speed on average, but for the past 1 week i realise my speed has been dropped to 10kb and i would like to check if Unifi does block/ throttled bitcomet or torrent p2p.

is there a way to check if my connection is throttled?

how do i get around if my connection is throttled?

No sound for movies

Hi guys I need some help here, I'm having no sound while playing movies on my iPad 4. Although they are avi files. I'm using flex player and molihdplayer but both also same problem. But when I try the movie on my Pchelkina there's no problem with the sound. And btw I tried other avi movies but some movie got no prob and some no sound. When I checked the movie details I found the video is avi but audio is blank. Is it the media player problem or the iPad not supporting some audio format? Any suggestion on better free media players or how to solve this issue?

Want to know why :(

i've been dating my gf for about 9 months and we are going on steady and our parents knows about our relationship. i myself also introduce her to my friends. however she does not want to introduce me to her friends . just now her ex bf came to our condo to pass her something, to my surprised she ask me to go hide behind the wall so the he does not see me. all the while she has been secretive about me as her bf. from my perspective i do not understand why she react in such a manner. is she keeping her options open or still unsure about our relationship (bare in mind our parents knows about our relationship and they are very receptive of it.please enlighten me guys on what i should do and let me know why she reach in such a manner?

Hi guys i need some advice here, here is my story:

on Dec i bump into a girl in my company and i we started chatting through email and fb. Within a week we started smsing and talking for hours on the phone. Then we proceed to meeting each other for breakfast and dinner and usually hang out till late night.

One day i decided to ask him if she's got any bf and she told me none. And after a few weeks i ask her again and she told me that she's got a bf, the lie she told me really hurts and i decided not to go for her any more. However the next morning she contacted me and asks me how am i and she told me she had a bad night too. On the day itself our colleague organized a trip to broga hill, during that trip we hold hands and we both felt there's something special.

After the trip up i decided to ask her out for a movie and during the movie i decide to hold her hands as i could not contempt my feelings for her and i would like to know her feelings for me. She had tears in her eyes, she told not to let her go and give up.

Our relationship got very close and soon she's got 2 bf in hand. she's been dating the other guy for 5 years however she told me that she felt insecure as the guy is a young chap and his been spending his cash like there's no tomorrow, besides that she told me that he loan from her about 20k to finance his wild lifestyle (partying, buying branded stuff and smoking). i got quite pissed when she told me that and i told her to cut her losses and stop giving him loans which he can’t pay off, which will only make things worse for him and her.

Besides that she asked me to give her time to break with him as she told me she does not want to lose him as a friend. She’s been staying with him for the past 5 months and she told me that she would like to move out before the break up. So she told me to either choose to wait for her to officially break up with him and then be with me or to be with her now and wait for her to break with him. i told her that i will be with her during this hard time.

As weeks past we managed to find a room for her to move out. But it seems she's been delaying to move out and its bothering me if this girl is serious about our relationship. Besides that i felt quite insecure as she is quite good looking and she's been entertaining a lot of guys who tries to hit on her. However that’s not the main problem. I’m more concern about my relationship with her.

i need advice on this, should i wait for her or should i move on.

PS: i ask her once if without my presence in her relationship with her current bf, will she breakup with him?

She told me that it’s a soon or later thingy that they will break up and with my presence now she would like to break up with him and be with me. the problem is i felt there is no urgency from her side to break up with him and she even told me that she's soft hear-ted and do not want to hurt his heart during the breakup. But on my side i was thinking, what about me? Am i just a guy with the green hat or I’m just a door mat.
