Problem description:
I have a problem with Time broadband since 2nd July. I was using WRT54 v5. Advised by customer service to reboot the modem. Once I rebooted, the router couldn't get an ip address from Time broadband. Advised to plug in direct connect from modem to laptop A. Able to get ip address and surf net. Called them to release mac address since I am going to connect laptop B. Managed to get IP address with gateway, dns etc. However, I couldnt suft and ping to the gateway. Asked them to reset my account again(1 hr). Plugged in direct connect from modem to Laptop C, However, couldn't surf the net. But able to get ip adress, dns and gateway. Ping the gateway, timeout request. Plug back Laptop A, manage to surf the net and ping to the gateway.

Do you guys have any idea about it? Time insisted that my router configuration issue. Okay fine, isolate the problem using direct connect instead go thru router.
Now they said my Laptop B and Laptop C are misconfigured. I manage to get the IP from the TIME. I ping the 127.0.0.1 to make sure my nic is working fine. From the network icon for laptop B and C, I can see traffic receiving not sending.

All three laptop getting diff ip address but from the same subnet and gateway. I suspect the mac address issue.

Another issue, why my linksys router couldn't get the IP address like my laptop since configured it as DHCP automatically.

Would appreciate if you could give some solutions on it.
