3-D Sex and Zen beats Avatar in HK box office

A pioneering 3-D erotic comedy has taken the Hong Kong box office by storm, beating the first-day record set by "Avatar" and drawing viewers from mainland China as it eyes a global rollout.

The $3.5 million Cantonese-language production "3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" had earned 17 million Hong Kong dollars ($2.2 million) as of Tuesday since opening last week on 73 screens, according to figures provided by producer Stephen Shiu. That's nearly seven times the total take so far for Hollywood thriller "Scream 4," which has earned HK$2.5 million.

"Sex and Zen" - a remake of a 1991 Hong Kong movie by the same name - features full nudity and camouflaged lovemaking scenes but does not show actual sexual intercourse, as is common in pornographic films. The movie, which stars Japanese porn stars Hara Saori and Suo Yukiko and Hong Kong actress Vonnie Liu, tells the story of a sexually frustrated scholar in ancient China who loses himself in the harem of a duke he befriends.

The film brought in HK$2.78 million on its opening day last Thursday, eclipsing the previous first-day record set by James Cameron's 2009 3-D sci-fi epic "Avatar," which earned HK$2.63 million on its first day.

In Taiwan, where the movie opened Friday on 77 screens, it earned 17 million New Taiwan Dollars through Sunday. That figure is still inferior to Hollywood competition but marks the best opening weekend for a Chinese-language movie in Taiwan this year, Shiu said Wednesday.

Shiu, whose father Stephen Shiu Sr. served as executive producer on the original "Sex and Zen," said he believes he has capitalized on a huge desire for 3-D erotic movies.

"We met people's expectations. People have always thought that you need 3-D technology for this kind of content. So people were very curious," he said.

"Sex and Zen" bills itself as the world's first 3-D erotic film, although Shiu acknowledges that a South Korean production - last year's "Natali" - hit the market before his release did. However, Shiu's movie is still a pioneering attempt at using new 3-D technology in theatrical releases of erotic films, given that the market in the West is now largely dominated by DVD releases.

The movie's Hong Kong performance has also been boosted by an influx of mainland Chinese viewers, whom Shiu estimates accounted for up to half of the business at some theaters. Although former British colony Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule in 1997, it still maintains a separate political system - and film regulatory regime. While Hong Kong has a film ratings system, mainland China doesn't, which effectively rules out erotic content.

"Sex and Zen" received a restricted rating in Hong Kong, allowing only audiences aged 18 and older to see the film.

It's not the first time mainland viewers have traveled to Hong Kong to evade censorship by Chinese authorities. Many mainlanders crossed over to watch the uncut version of Oscar-winning Taiwanese director Ang Lee's sexually explicit 2007 spy thriller "Lust, Caution."

Hong Kong theater operators have also sought to cash in on the novelty factor by staging women-only screenings.

"Sex and Zen" has also been released in about a dozen theaters in Chinese communities in the Australian cities Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, but Shiu didn't have box office results. The movie is scheduled to be released in South Korea on May 12, and in France, Italy and India in June. Shiu is also targeting a May release for Singapore, although the filmmakers are still working with local censors on the final cut. - AP

Mum uploads video of nude daughter

A DESPERATE Beijing mother who wants to find a boyfriend for her daughter has uploaded a video of the naked girl walking out of a shower while fielding questions on prospective boyfriends, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.
The 80-second footage begins with the mother speaking to the camera and declaring her intention of finding a boyfriend for her 26-year-old daughter.
The camera follows the mother towards the bathroom, where her daughter walks out in the nude.
When asked about her requirements for a boyfriend, the daughter replies:

“I’m all right, as long as (he) is nice to you (the mother) and nice to me. That’s enough.’’

The online community has speculated that the daughter in the footage is an actress named Ganlulu and the footage is genuine.

First of all, yes this is a new account and i'm not a fake user.
There's a wall of text below and i hope i conveyed my message clearly.. there's no summarized version..

I've been in a relationship with Girl A for 7 years and counting. We started since Form Four and at that moment, she was the love of my life. I wanted nothing but her.. She was a very caring and loving girl that sticks very much to me. We're both are first lovers for each other. Things have been going great and smooth for the past few years..

However, during our early stages, she was a very possessive and protective gf where she limits my interaction with all my friends (mostly guys). She doesnt allow me to hang out with them and only want me to be with her. She checks on my phone, msn too to see whether i have any other girl contacts. She often suspects me with another girl and we often quarrel about it in which i usually gave in (all the time, silly me rite?). I dont know why i still bear with her attitude and hold on to her. Maybe i still love her? Girl A is a very quiet and pessimistic girl where she has low self esteem and confidence too. she likes to threaten me by breaking up our relationship which really breaks my heart. I'm a little numb by it now..

The problem seriously began when we went to the same university and made a bunch of new friends. There i met Girl B, whom is Girl A's best friend now. We've known for 4 years. Initially, we weren't close and seldom mix around but closing in to the 3rd year, we started hanging out together in a group and going for trips and holidays together. She was a very cheerful girl and active and likes to play alot. I find myself very comfortable around her and we started chatting alot and way much more than my Girl A. I realised that we share alot of the same hobby and interest which none of Girl A has as Girl A is more homely girl. Girl A prefers to stay home and be with her family all the time.

It greatly affected my studies for the final year as i cannot decide what should i do or choose. I wasnt studying for the finals and assignments were late. Everyday, or all the time i should say, i'm constantly thinking of what Girl B is doing and i would wait whole day for her to be online and chat with her about almost anything. I would visit/stalk her FB profile all the time to know of her updates. This doesnt happen with Girl A because when she gets online, i seem to have nothing to talk to her and most of the time we end up quarrelling over something which i cant remember anymore.

There was this time when Girl B was in a relation with this guy, i got so upset and envious that everyone around me asked of my personality change. Girl A sensed the change too and she did suspect that i might have fallen for Girl B but i denied the fact. After a few months they broke up and it changed Girl B too. She became wilder, mixing with the wrong company and it really breaks my heart. I would always help Girl B out regardless of her studies, life or technical problems. She likes giving me all kind of cute names too.

When the semester ended thinking i wouldnt meet Girl B anymore, i confessed to her through sms my feelings for her. Shockingly, she told me that she felt that i liked her too and thanked me for being honest. She said she also kept it in her heart coz she know it is impossible and dont want Girl A to get hurt as she was her best friend.

We're now in our own hometown and for the first few months we kept in contact online which has became a daily basis thing and would sms each other even more often. I dont know how but Girl A sensed that i still have feelings for Girl B as she knows i chat with her all the time and we had a big fight. Out of rage i told her i would block Girl B which i did but i unblocked the next day. She logged on and found that out so we had a bigh fight again. Then she deleted her from my account. However she doesnt know that we still sms n email each other. If she did we've surely broken up by now.

I am now in a dilemma of should i forget this Girl B and continue my relation with Girl A or should i tell Girl A that i have feelings for Girl B? Girl B clearly knows i have a gf and i have told her twice that i liked her and fell for her. Despite knowing i have a gf, she doesnt mind being so close with me and got angry as i told her we should stop contacting. What is she implying? Does she treat me just like a friend only? All my friends knows that i'm with Girl A and they expect me to have her as my future wife but i dont know whether can i stay on with her as 60% of the time we're quarrelling/sad/having problems.

Sometimes i wished that i was single again as i dont think i am fit to be anyone's bf.

Please advice or flame as you will.
