jaundice in newborn

my newborn is almost 2 weeks old by now.. admitted for double phototherapy twice already (on 2 separate occasions so far). each time before admission, reading is 280+. upon discharge, the reading is 170+.

my wife is bringing the baby to see the doc again today as she still looks yellowish on her eyes and face..according to those internet read, jaundice should drop naturally by the 7th day, but it seems that my baby is not doing that well in getting rid of the jaundice on her own.

upon discharge, her skin is fair and nice, but once we reach home, she turned red again..

i know jaundice is not a big deal (in most cases) but it is robbing us of our peace of mind and it hurts to see the baby getting poked to get blood for testing and worst still, to know that we need to admit her for phototherapy again.. ( i hope she doesnt need to admit again today).

she is on breastfeed...my wife is taking tons of ginger in her diet now (traditional chinese cooking)...is this a cause for jaundice?

can goat's milk help? any herbal stuff can help?

any experience to share?

my firstborn had jaundice too, admitted twice also...

thanks..

recommendation for a portable game device

fellow sifu..need help.

im not into gaming, so im blank.

my 4 yrs old son is constantly playing the ipod touch games that belongs to my teenage sister. and this resulted in a daily mini fight whenever the boy wants to play with the device and my sister dont allow it, coz he always accidentally deleted the games or softwares in the ipod.

im thinking of buying another device for my son, so he wont need to borrow from my sister and lesser headache for me. besides buying another ipod touch and download the games into it, is there any other portable hand held device that is suitable for a 4 yrs old kid (and beyond), with suitable games like he is currently playing now, and easy for me to load or put in the games for him (preferably via free download instead of constant purchase of game cartridges)?

and most importantly, the screen has to be big and bright like an ipod touch. i have an old gameboy which the screen is very difficult to look at, its too dim.

and most importantly too, what sort of pricing am i looking at, and where to get it?

thanks heap.

Hi,

We are expecting our 2nd child next month. cant decide which brand of bottle to buy. Between MAM, NUK, Avent.

Considerations are like anti colic, no leaking, and other factors which fellow parents here can share.

Our first born use Avent. Not a problem for us,but I read that Avent has this BP agent which causes cancer?

Thanks for the comments.

P/S. im starting this topic coz i cant find any topic discussing bottles.
