Another issue.
My Klipsch SW-450 subwoofer is humming.
Currently using a cheapo red white yellow RCA cable.
Not ground loop issue I think because the sub power cable is only 2 pin (meaning not grounded)
The only other stuff connected to the receiver is my computer through HDMI. Removing the HDMI doesn't help. Humming persists.

However removing the RCA cable stops the humming.
So most likely the humming is from the cable.

What cable should I buy?
Do I need to get the directional cable?
Can't find anyone selling for anything lower than rm100
I don't want to blow RM100+ for stupid Monster cable
I can get the cable much cheaper from USA but shipping will take time.

Hello guys.

I have a passive dual projector 3D setup for quite some time.
Works very well for me.

Now I'm upgrading my surround system.
Bought Pioneer VSX-520K receiver.
Considering a Klipsch 5.1 system.

I have a crossfire 6970 rig.
So I have 3 HDMI ports.
2 ports will be used for the projectors.
Using Windows 7.

For the 3D, audio usually will be transmitted with the left video stream.
I intend to send audio signal through HDMI to the receiver.
So how do I do this?
Any idea will be appreciated.

Hello guys.
As title, I'm looking for various colors of cat5/6 or any network cable.
I need at least 5 colors.
Black, grey, blue, yellow, orange etc.
They are not for computer use. For a non computer related project.
So it doesn't need to be of high quality. Heck, even if it is rejected/doesn't work, as long as it looks nice, that will work.

As we all know, some people are turned off by the fact that they can't use filter on this amazing lens.
Especially ND grads & CPL.
Yes I know the argument of CPL & wide angles don't go well with each other.
Aside from darkening the sky, selectively reducing glares, reflections & increasing color saturation is important to certain people.

Currently, the only commercial solution available is Cokin X-pro kit.

Those who can use the vignette for artistic purpose, fine.
Those who can't stand it, better buy 17-35mm or the coming 16-35mm f4

My current project is developing a filter holder rig for this lens.
My requirements:
- No vignette for the whole range down to 14mm
- No or as little illumination fall off as possible
- Modular so it can support the use of other filter brands (Cokin, Lee, Schneider, Singh-ray etc)
- Usage of 1,2,3 or more filters according to user requirements
- Capability of using different size, different brand filters in a multi-filter setup
- Pro level quality (no cheap Cokin plastic here)
- Custom hood to eliminate glare from the rear
- Precision CNC machined out of billet aluminium with tight tolerances (Haven't decide the material for the hood. Maybe carbon fiber)

So I contacted a manufacturer to custom make the CPL filter.
I will be getting the sample for quality testing in about 1 week.
Price will definitely be below any competitor.

Now, the problem is I DON'T have this lens.
I played with it a few times to know how superb it is & how it benefit from using filter.

I'm looking for someone who owns the 14-24mm that will allow me to use his/her lens for this project.
Don't freak out.
I'm happy to discuss the terms.

A few ways I had in mind:
- Loan me the lens for a few days for me to take the measurements & filter testing. Then when the rig arrived, loan me again to do a complete testing.
- If you can't trust me with the expensive lens, you can work together with me so the lens will not be out of your sight.

How will I compensate you? A few ways I can think of:
- Pay rental of the lens
- Discount on the rig & custom CPL

Like I said, I'm open to discussion of the terms.
Regarding the risk of damaging the lens, I can assure you I will handle it with extreme care.
When I take the lens, we'll take detail pictures of it so any damage can be proven to be my fault & I will compensate.

I have an interest of purchasing a residential lot & converting it to commercial title.

The land currently has a bungalow as with its neighbors.
Location is Selangor.
Opposite it are some restaurants & commercial stores.

The lot will be used not for restaurant.
Something like showroom.
Target market is high end customers.
So traffic will be low.
Disturbance to neighbors will be minimal if any

Applying licence for the business & permit for construction are lesser problems.
Main thing is the title conversion.

My question is, how can i convert it from residential to commercial title?
I read somewhere that the conversion fee is 10% of the land value.
How difficult will it be to do the conversion?
Do I need some inside people or just about any person can do the conversion?
How long will the procedure take? & how much will it cost me?

Any comment & suggestion especially from those who have connections or experience is highly appreciated

Ever heard of using charcoal to reduce malodour?
Try some activated carbon. You'll be surprised by its efficacy.
Now try my special chemically impregnated activated carbon.

Usage suggestion:
- DIY air filter (google on how to do it. Or just put in a net or pantyhose & put at a place with good airflow)
- Additive in pet litter (add a few spoonful into the litter. It is safe for pets. A cat littler manufacturer actually included activated carbon in their product)
- Smelly fridge
- Cupboards, drawers, toilet.
- Cars with bad durian smell
- Durian smell exterminator (buy a large plastic box to fit some durians. Buy some green hardware net. put some carbon in the net & seal the edges so the carbons won't spill. Blanket the durians with it. So no more smelly car)
- Smoking cigs (Take the paper tube from finished kitchen towel, wrap with pantyhose, fill with carbon, insert straw into the middle of the carbon, blow the smoke into the straw. The smell will be much reduced. I will do an experiment for this soon)
- Marijuana farming (seriously. google up. they use activated carbon to reduce to smell to the point that police dogs can't smell the weeds. Disclaimer: This is just an example to show the effectiveness of this product. I don't do drugs. I never even smoke cigs nor do I advocate marijuana growing )

The best thing is it DOES NOT cover the odour with scents but ERADICATE them.

I'm looking for some tutorials that will help me recreate the holographic & phantom effects from the Final Fantasy movie.
This is for my faculty short video project.
Mainly I will be using After Effects.
But I don't see any easy way to create those effects in AE.
Most probably I have to use a 3D software.
Maybe 3ds max or maya (any other suggestion?)

I found some tutorial for AE to make cloaking effect.
Of course clear cloak. Maybe i can try adding some color for the phantom effect.

I do found some hologram tutorials but they don't look nearly as good as in the FF movie.

My primary objective is to be able to recreate the holographic keyboard & display.
I'm brand new in 3D world but I'm willing to learn.

A new seller trying to sell Paypal at a really low rate.
Of course I don't trust anyone who does not have much successful transaction in LYN.
I ask if he is willing to transfer 1st.
He did transfer 1st.
So i paid to his maybank immediately.

Amount: RM600+

This happens yesterday.

Next thing I know, the fund is reversed today
The seller does not know what happened.
Neither do I.

Seller use his brother's PayPal account to transfer back.
Then almost immediately, reversed also.

Funny thing, 1st paypal account have an Australian address.
2nd paypal account (supposedly his bro's) have an India email with no address provided.
Seller said we can easily change address. Fine.
Found the phone number of the account. Guess what. Prefix of India.

I had asked for his IC copy.
He didn't say anything or send it as requested.

He also keep asking for screenshots of my paypal showing the dispute.
I don't know the significance of it.
He should be able to monitor the dispute through his own account.

HOWEVER, I haven't concluded that the seller is a fraud.
Probably just some hiccups & unexpected problems.
I opened this thread just so I can discuss with fellow forumers.
Let see what the seller will say.

He seem to have sold some Paypal funds to other forumer (not sure) but they did not report any problem.
Paypal call for review of the transaction may indicate problem on my side or the seller reported (falsely) to Paypal.
However he denied any knowledge of how it happens & I don't see how I could have caused this.
I only use the paypal to buy stuffs online. I do not do any type of business, adsense or things like that.
Paypal is only used to buy stuffs.

Can some mod do tracing of his ip?
I will provide any proof needed.

Okay let's get straight to business.
I'm able to get a very reputable retailer in USA that is able to do custom prescription lenses mainly for sunglasses (normal frames also can but it is easier to just order here)
The price is not cheap but well worth the investment.
This is not a place for people to get cheap stuff.
Only order from them if u can't get the lenses made in Malaysia (Even if they can, ask if there will be any complications like dizziness especially on lateral view)

An example, if u were to buy an Oakley & order a prescription from them, they have strict limits. Some frames can only accommodate up to 3.00 or 4.00 only (I'm reaching -5.00 so I'm out of luck with Oakley Rx lenses)
So another way is to use this manufacturer service which can produce lenses up to 10.00 & even above in some frames.
I don't know how the do it, but trust me on this. People who purchased from the company are those who are unable to get proper prescription lenses anywhere else & most are highly satisfied with it & even comparing it with original Oakley Rx lenses.

They do many brands & sells the frames too.
Also able to make lenses for self-bought frames (but need to ship to US. Time consuming & costly. Unless u have a rare frame or something, usually it will be more cost effective to just purchase a frame from them & let them do the lens quickly)

U look up the frames yourself, let me know so I can check with them.
