HTC One - where is One S?

It seems that mobile operators in Malaysia only offer One X and One V for their smartphone deals. Dealers in LYN also not offering One S currently. What happen to One S actually?

Guys,

Need help from you guys:

Current system:
Mobo : MSI K9A2 CF with PCI-E 2.0
GC : XFX 8600GT with 2 x DVI interface
Monitor : Samsung LCD 2230BW with DVI interface
OS : Win7 64 bit
Status : PC Runs Perfectly!

Changes made:
GC : ASUS EAH5750 Formula (PCI-E 2.1) with DVI, HDMI and D-sub interface
Status after installation : Connect the DVI cable to the GC's DVI interface - The Fan is running, LCD didn't detect any signal

Troubleshooting attempts:
1. Check and ensure connectors at GC are well plug-in - same result
2. Check connection at LCD monitor - same result
3. Take-out the GC and re-install it back - same result
4. Use HDMI interface with the DVI-HDMI connector and connect it to the GC's HDMI - same result
5. Check again all connections - same result
6. Replace back with the XFX 8600GT - PC runs perfectly!

Any recommendations or things need to be tested further on this issue? I'm thinking the GC is faulty and need to send back to the shop.

Photo file management

Guys,

I would like to know how you manage your photo images in your computer. I need some inputs as my image files getting bigger by the days thus need inputs on how to effectively manage the files. Hope you could share your best practices with all of us.

For a start, this is what I'm going to do with my image files:

RAW files
1. Create folder '450D' in 'My Pictures' folder. If use another camera - I will create another folder for it.
2. Create folder 'RAW' in the folder '450D'. All RAW files stored in this folder with sub-folders based on the Date taken.

Processed Image
3. Create folder 'Photo Lab' in 'My Pictures' folder.
4. Create folder 'Event_name' in 'Photo Lab'. All converted and processed files from RAW is stored in here based on particular Event.
5. File name convention to use "lab_eventname_date_p001"
* I currently have .TIF or .PSD for the processed image. Which one is better?

Ready For Web
5. Create folder 'Web Ready' in 'My Pictures' folder.
6. Create folder 'Event_name' in 'Web Ready' folder based on particular Event in 'Photo Lab' event folders
7. Resize the processed photo, put watermark and convert to .JPG. File name convention to use is "eventname_date_p001.jpg". take out the lab word.
8. Save it in the 'Event_name' folder.
9. Upload to photo hosting sites.

Please comment or give alternative (faster and neat) solution. The processes above will eat up alot of my HDD resources... I know .

USB 2.0 Transfer Rate

Guys,

I'm always having this problem in which the USB2.0 rate drops to 1MB/sec after a few sec whenever i'll do large data transfer from my PC HDD to my mobile HDD backup. Any recommendations to speed it up back?

HD DVD - Counting the days...

Warner Bros had announced that they will no longer support HD DVD in the future and now New Line did the same thing. Just wondering how long HD DVD can maintain its existence with these blows one after another... Adoiii!

"Las Vegas (NV) - New Line Cinema, a sister company of Warner Bros, has confirmed that it will follow the move to go exclusively to Blu-ray Disc.

At last night's Blu-ray CES press conference, Warner Home Video president Ron Sanders said that, although Warner Bros decided to no longer support HD DVD, other Time Warner entertainment companies would be making their own decisions.

A representative for New Line told us that it has officially stopped producing HD DVD titles, effective immediately.

The move is likely to make Pan's Labyrinth a rare HD DVD. The movie was released on both formats late last year, and it will be moved off the HD DVD production line with all of Warner's titles. It will live in infamy as the only New Line title to be released on HD DVD."

Any advice on buying GBA SP from the game shop? anything for me to look on the the built quality or things that i should avoid. I'm buying for my kid's birthday this month. There is price difference from shops to shops - some offer low price with lotsa extras and some offer quite high price for the equipment only - that made me wonder and request help here. thanks for the help.

P2P on Mobile Wireless - The Future is Bleak

Even the mobile operators are thinking of throttling the bandling to minimise bandwidth hogging by P2P 'enthusiasts'. Nokia has already a solution for mobile operators. Taken fron The Star:

"KUALA LUMPUR: Nokia is introducing a network solution that lets operators control the use of network resources by bandwidth hungry applications such as file sharing and Voice over IP telephony.

The solution gives operators the tools to maintain better control over their networks, the company said.

The Nokia Peer-to-peer Traffic Control is an integrated solution to allow mobile operators to profitably manage the bandwidth available for peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic, and thus balance the allocation of network resources, it added.

The centralised solution is implemented as a software upgrade to the Nokia Flexi Intelligent Service Node (ISN) and will be commercially available during the first half of 2007. "With the explosion of affordable high-speed mobile data access, operators are now being challenged to make the best possible use of their networks, especially when peer-to-peer applications increase their traffic load and compete with their own services," said Roberto Loiola, vice president, marketing and sales networks at Nokia."

Broadband Service- How much are u willing to pay?

If there is a service provider that can offer higher speed than the current broadband connection for consumer like us - how much are u willing to pay for it? Please indicate the ideal price that you able to pay per month ....
