Need help in internet download speed

Recently I just upgraded my streamyx to 4.0mb speed.

I just got myself a Belkin Wireless modem router last night and it actually works well.
All the computers in my house can detect very high speed.

I have one particular desktop which connects to the Wifi via USB Adapter.
Since last night, the download speed for this desktop was very fast which the speed up to 3.6mb.
but after I off my desktop few hours ago, and turn it on, i found out that the speed becomes really slow which is only 0.4mb.

I tried on other laptops wifi speed, all the speed is great. The location of the laptops are same as the desktop which is 5metres away from the modem.

Any idea why only that desktop receives such low speed?
Please help! really need a solution.

help/advice needed on my wifi device

Hello.

I realize I encounter problem with my wifi connection.

I recently just upgraded to streamyx 4.0mb. and after I ran the speedtest, the speed is still really slow.
After I did some trouble shooting, i found out that it was my Wireless USB Adapter.

Detail of the situation:

1. I have 2 desktops and 2 laptops at home.
2. Desktop A is connected to the modem via cable.
3. 2 laptops via wifi
4. Desktop B is connected via Belkin Wireless USB Adapter.
5. Running speed test on my 2 laptops via wifi seemed no problem as the speed goes up to 3.8Mb. As well as my desktop A.
6. But for my Desktop B it is located approx. 4 metres away from my modem so I ran a speedtest, it only shows 0.4-0.9mb. it is really slow.
7. I tried to connect Desktop A with that Belkin device and it seems no problem.
8. HENCE, the issue here is the distance.

I really need advice in what device should i use to enhance my connection for desktop B without using cable.
1. should I get a Wifi Router/booster?
2. or should I get a better Wireless USB Adapter?

Please advice and recommend what should I do.
I'd deeply appreciate all the comments given!
