Comfortable job vs climbing the corp ladder?

Well, consider these:

Job:
- Good boss (patient, gives guidance)
- Good welfare (stable pay rise min 3% or more depending on appraisal, about 12 weeks of fixed holidays, coffee/milo/pens/paper are all pretty unlimited)
- Good working hours, location (minimal jam, end work around 4pm)

cons:
- not much career growth, pretty stagnant, not like you can become manager/director at all
- basically, it's like a job for mothers with families, or those who need to pass time

I am 23, and looking at my friends who have glamorous titles (eg future investment banker, managers in mnc etc), I dont know if I am on the right path. Yes, at this point, I earn better than some of them, I have more time and not slogging my life away... But in ten years time, while my friends will have high flying career, I will probably still be like this (this is the nature of my job, there's not much progression/growth).

Dont get me wrong, I love my company and my boss (which is quite rare), but it's just, too quiet....

So ya.... would you choose a comfortable life now? Or....?

Lunch Delivery Business

Understand that there are other food delivery business (food panda etc), but this is different in what it provides and to a different market.

I worked in Jln Ampang (near KLCC) where lunch is either overpriced (Klcc foodcourt) or horrible (back end chap fan). Of course there were some nice and cheap food, but who wants to eat the same thing everyday?

If you look at other countries (developing - India, developed - South Korea) and even our own country, food delivery is plentiful, just that choices here are limited to Mcdonalds and pizzas.

I aim to provide an alternative, affordable, tasty and unique menu - high quality cafe asian/fusion food that comes in set boxes for a resonable price. To keep the price low, we want to work with cafe/bakery/restaurant/caterers who will provide the food according to our menu. In return, they get extra sales per month with increasing much overheads or hiring extra stuff.

What do yall think? If there is such a service for lunch time will yall order? What will be the factors affecting your choice - price, menu, hot/cold food?

Any opinions/criticisms are appreciated.

edited 9/10

would anyone know about licensing issues?

if i'm selling packed food that has my brand on it, but with NO inhouse kitchen, NO food preparation whatsoever, NO retail premises, will a business registration be sufficient? or do i need trading license with local council as well?

it's like, a internet business.
or how about those home bakers? do they need any license to sell their cupcakes? or it's a private agreement between buyer and seller?

or how about those 7/11 that sells packed sandwiches and curry puff? do they need food safety license?

For money or for future/career prospects

Hi guys, Im stuck with a situation. If yall can kindly give me some opinions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Im currently working for COMPANY A; it gives me:

Pros:
- a lot of things to learn, to do (my direct superior, the HOD, and a manager can assign me work, together with my own work)
- my direct superior very trust me - HOD hands me alot P+C work and other responsibilities (which is unfair too, because the other junior which is in the same position as me, has minimal work, always can take leave etc)
- it's a casual environment, we joke alot, can dress easily

Cons:
- average pay
- late working hours and very very long hours (when i go home mon-fri, im like a zombie already - no work like balance basically)
- no OT (my job scope requires me to work late, and sometimes sat and sun too)
- small typical chinaman company (some politics, work you like a cow)
- physical working conditions very bad - alot of people smoke in office, very messy/stuffy air

Overall:
inside this company, i am like a cow but the future is quite bright if i do venture out later. but at this point, i feel very drained and tired, basically burnt out. i find it a chore to go to work. i have spoken to my superior about my workload twice before, who have promised me that i can hand over some work to other juniors, but it just doesnt seem to help.

So, then I recently got another offer from COMPANY B; it gives me:

Pros:
- location is very near my house, about 10mins or so to drive
- salary is higher than current company
- they start and end work earlier (8 - 5pm) so i will have alot more own time i presume
- work environment is healthy (no smoking indoors, bright and clean spaces)

Cons:
- job scope is half or what i am doing now - more specialised but less to learn
- not much growth opportunities and future career prospects
- more formal environment (colleagues, people i will deal with in my job)
- will be a one man team, its a new position, alot of things unknown (like, being a teenage mother bringing up a child, alot of uncertainty etc)

Overall:
i am very attracted given the physical conditions and pay, but am wary about my future prospects.

Overall, im not sure if i should take up company B.
what do yall think? or were anyone faced with the same situation?
