Date of transaction: 14 October 2011

Details of the complaint :

1) After negotiations, it was agreed that the item will be posted through poslaju and the amount agreed was banked into the Public Bank Account (A/C No. *-****831-26) as given by the seller on 14 October 2011.

2) No signs of the items being posted after it was agreed that the items will be posted on 15 October 2011 after the bank-in of the payments have already been made a day before.

3) PM-ed seller again on 24 October 2011 and reply was received on 25 October 2011 where mr.darth has said that he was warded due to chronic asthma and again made a promise for the goods to be sent personally a day after 24th October. To which it was notified to him that the method of dealing will still be postage as I will not be around KL and there are nobody to receive the items on behalf.

4) After the no-show and 2 PMs, mr. darth replied on 4th Nov 2011 that should I prefer postage still, the item will be posted on 5th Nov 2011. Again, the item was not posted as promised.

5) Subsequent PMs sent on Nov 13 and Nov 17 was not replied.

Based on profile log-in, mr. darth's last log in was yesterday and definately it is not too much to expect a reply from him on the PM's sent as noted in No. 5. But till date, no replies have been received.

To-date there is yet to be an amicable resolution on this issue (which have already been dragged to a month plus), hope the mods can put on a dispute tag while awaiting for the issue to be settled. Will be revealing the whole account details as a last resort.

What is Lowyat.net Charity Foundation(LYNCF)?

LYNCF is basically an initiative kick-started by se7en and also twenty06, with aims to gather a group of members within the LYN Community that is interested to perform charitable acts.

What do I get out of this?

A norm question that would be asked by any normal human beings. Well, don't expect anything out of this other than your self-satisfaction of being an able-bodied person helping a less fortunate person.

I am from out of state (not from Kuala Lumpur), can I still join?

The answer is YES. Initially the base would be in Kuala Lumpur, but as we become more established, activities that are organized will encompass other states, so don't worry.

Also, you guys can gather amongst yourselves and submit a plan for an activity that you all wish to hold, e.g. old folks home visit etc. Therefore, take INITIATIVE and let's get some charity done!

Do LYNCF have an age limit to join?

No. No matter how young or how old you'd think you'd might be, the door of LYNCF is still open to those who have the heart to commit themselves to charities.

As for those forumers who are underaged and could not drive, don't fret about it. As long as you have a heart for it, we'll work things out for you (on the best effort...).

I want to join, but I am afraid that I will not be able to commit full-time or join all the activities that are held...

DO NOT PANIC! This is a charitable foundation, so feel free to contribute your effort whenever you can. There's no regulation here stating that you can't join if you do not commit full-time or join every single activities that are organized here.

[WTA] Warranty Claims

Hello,

Have purchased a Tt Bigwater 745 Watercooling Kit from you guys in May last year. In less than a year of usage, the pump of the watercooling kit broke down.

I would like to know how am i going to get a warranty claims from your shop as Izmir, whom i have contacted yesterday, said that the shop is closed down for renovation with no exact duration of the renovation period. Since it is not one year yet, i am entitled to my warranty BUT since the shop is renovating till God knows when, then how about my warranty claim? If the shop starts operating back after my warranty claim period is over, who is going to be responsible? Certainly i wont pay for the pump, because when it spoilt it was under warranty coverage period.

Please advise.

HDD light

Recently i've noticed that my HDD led light on my CM Stacker is always on, usually that indicated hard disk activity. But the problem is that my system is idle, not even using a major file transfer or whatsoever. Scanned the whole 3 hdd with ewido antispyware, spybot, ad-aware and also did a AVG scan, everything's clean. No virus, no malware.

What could be the culprit here?

Linksys BESFR41 + Aztech DSL Turbo 900

Recently developed some problems with connection being dropped. Happens very frequently, even msn dc and rc every 15 seconds, which makes it so frustrating. Current setup is a Linksys router BESFR41 and a Aztech DSL Turbo 900 modem. The Linksys's router's firmware is 1.46.02. I do hope that u all can help

Sync Mobile Phone To Computer

i hope this thread will be used to post attachments or links on softwares that need to be installed in order to transfer data to mobile phones.
some mobile phones like motorola e380 does not come with the software and thus this makes it hard for the user to transfer data because there's no driver to install.

i'm using motorola e380 here and i am lost looking for the software that provides the driver for installation in windows xp

Northbridge Cooling

With any nForce2 motherboard, northbridge cooling is vital. Abit has done a much better job than many manufacturers in this respect, but a couple of issues need smoothed out in this area.

1. The first issue is the extremely small contact area of the heatsink. As seen by the image below, the poor usage of thermal paste is severely limiting cooling by decreasing this area, and is going to have an effect on overclocking. Remove the heatsink by squeezing the ends together on the bottoms of the pushpins (from the backside of the board), taking care not to let the heatsink just fall off onto the board or anything else that might be damaged by it.

Take some rubbing alcohol and a qtip (or any other soft cleaning tool) and remove all of the old thermal paste from the chip and heatsink, then apply some new paste to the chip. If you have the older northbridge which has a circular metal core, you will need to use a generous amount to make up for the curvature of the chip. Users with newer chips will only need a thin layer, but should test the heatsink's contact by pressing it down and then removing it, and filling in any thin bare spots shown in the imprint on the bottom of the heatsink.

2. The second issue is the stock cooler itself. While it does prove to be one of the better stock coolers, it can still be improved upon. I recommend using the vantec iceburg, which is basically a copper version of the stock cooling solution. Other popular choices include the zalaman chipset cooler, and the chrome orb (which may need some modification or epoxy to mount properly). The image below is of the vantec iceburg in action.
