When logging in without the 'Remember me?' checked, the site just redirects back to forum.lowyat.net as Guest. But it works normally if the option is checked. Using PC Chrome browser.

I'm planning to open an SME business bank account with tiger bank. I saw one of their requirements is to have a company rubber stamp.
What info I need to put on the stamp for a sole proprietor business?

Company name and business reg number enough? Or need to add address too?

Freelancers need to register with SSM?

Hello,

1. I'm wondering if it's a MUST for freelancers to register as a business with SSM?
Some details:
- offering graphic design service online
- no other full time jobs
- very little business expenses to claim
- working from home

This website seems to suggest that it's not a requirement since unregistered freelancers can still use Borang BE for tax filing.

2. If it is a must, do you hire a tax agent to help with bookkeeping and filing Borang B? How much does it cost roughly? This feels like a lot of overhead when I have little business expenses to deduct from, so I'd prefer to remain unregistered and file with Borang BE if possible.

3G services under MCMC scrutiny

Most of the 3G players are using the 900 megahertz (MHz) and 1,800MHz frequency bands to roll out 3G services instead of the primary 2,100MHz band meant for 3G.

“We did an audit over three months ago and this has come to light. They have been putting up 3G coverage but not capacity and speed, and hence, the 3G services are slow. We issued the warning two weeks ago and have given them till the end of December to come back to us or action will be taken against them,” MCMC chairman Datuk Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizi told StarBiz yesterday.

Busybody/insensitive friend

So I got this friend who's really insensitive. He likes bringing up about my ex whenever he had the chance (he's still friend with her). I guess he thinks it's fun to see how I'll react to it but it's getting reaaaaally grating and annoying.

Whenever he knows my ex will be at someplace he'll start dropping hints, asks if I'm going to that place, etc. Most of the time, I'll try to answer calmly but a few times I've lashed out at him for his insensitivity but he'll act like he's the victim, says he's just trying to help... the usual guilt-trip stuffs... and then he'll be back doing the same thing after a while.

Man... it's been over a year and I'm moving on here and this guy keeps on bringing back the past just to mess with people's feelings.

How do you deal with such people?

My trusty ol' Graphire 4's pen nib is wearing out. I've asked few shops including the Wacom distributor, Jardine, but they are only selling the whole pen, which costs RM159

Where can I get replacement nibs around PJ?
Anyone tried a DIY solution of replacing the nib with a stick or something? Will there be issues?

Gym glove and callus

I've been going to the gym for about 4 months now and my hands are starting to develop callus from all the weight training. It gets a bit uncomfortable while pulling weights. I'm wondering if a normal gym glove will help prevent/reduce callus, or do I need to get those padded ones?

Normal gym gloves I saw are like RM60+ while padded is RM90+. Not cheap

I've tried some "Lomo effect" Photoshop Actions downloaded from the web, but the result isn't the same.

Installing motherboard

Hello all,

I'm planning to swap my Intel DX58S0 motherboard with a Gigabyte EX58-UD3R. Is installing a motherboard a straight forward thing? Just plugging back the RAM and cables?

Do I have to uninstall the old motherboard drivers before putting in the new one? Any special jumpers or stuff to look out for? What about BIOS/CMOS setup?

The PC shop always too busy to do it for me. I'm thinking of just doing it myself if it's simple enough

Any advice, or should I leave it to the pros?
