Sorry is the hardest word ...

Sorry seems to be the hardest word ...

and so the song goes ... in this society, people generally find it easy to say thank you than sorry for the mistakes / faults they committed? I just don't understand why?

Will a word of sorry alter your ego so badly that you find it hard to humble yourself and admit you are wrong? sigh ....

Current & Expected Salary

Many companies often ask for your current and expected salaries to gauge your expectation against what they can offer
Just want to know, is it necessary for us to declare this otherwise?

if you declare, it chances are, you might get turned down if they cannot afford you. If you don't, is it wrong?

Would like to know the prospects of a career in career counseling and if one wants to venture into, what kind of education do they need to have in order to qualify them for the job?

was wondering if there's anyone in a career counseling job at the moment that can share their experience on the job ...

Many thanks
Volunteerism

I am very impressed with people who volunteer themselves either on a full time / part time basis at charity foundations / organizations. To me, it is very hard to let go of a job with stable monthly income and time off on weekends to commit myself to something that a job that is lowly paid .. or in some extent, with no pay at all.

For those who are volunteering with charity foundations or organizations, please do share your experience and what motivated you to commit yourself wholeheartedly to reach out to the community? I would love to hear your inspiring stories in your journey towards volunteerism. ..thanks.

Exit Interview

Hi, I am feeling a little lost at how to provide a reason for my resignation in a tactful way as not to burn any bridges between myself and the company (for I will never know if I want to join them again). I am still very new (within the 6 mths probation period) and my reason for resignation lies within the job and the team as a whole.

Job wise - I've been told about the job after I've read the JD and also during the interview and at that point of time, I thought I wanted to to this, but now I have a change of mind.

Team wise (or the environment in the team) - very tensed, political (everyone's fighting each other for promotion - I was attacked because of this with false accusations and harsh words hurled at me ), non-supportive environment (I can't seem to get answers / guides from the people I have to work with - everyone's either too bz, or couldn't be bothered with me being here ). The org. is too large and messy - most of the time I am lost at what I am supposed to do - each time I tried to do sth right, it is wrong because A says so, but it is right in B's eyes @_@ - don't know who to take instructions from .. too many managers managing u at the same time ..

There, I have stated my reasons. I won't disclose the name of the company I work for anonymity sake.

How do I put it in a tactful explanation so that my manager will understand my reason for leaving and not harbor any misunderstandings / disappointment towards me?

Thanks so much ...
