Maxis Fibre Router no Huawei or Dlink?

Many people complaint Thompson router is very bad. This French router can throw to the ocean, my god!

Even the China brand Huawei is good and Taiwan brand Dlink.

Many people said that Huawei router is good and I think Unifi got Huawei and Dlink.

Maxis doesn't has.

Any one know about this?

I want Maxis to change my Thompson router to Huawei or Dlink!!!

Anyone having this problem?

Not stable, some time no internet connection and wait for 30mins then got connection.

Called to Maxis Customer Service and Engineer told me it's RGW phone1 phone2 problem.

I just feel a bit disappointed about the perfomance.

Any user please share it.

L.A. police accused of targeting, beating black skateboarder

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Supporters of a black college student who says he was severely beaten by Los Angeles police who stopped him for skateboarding in traffic rallied on Wednesday at the scene of his arrest to protest what they called excessive force and racial profiling.

A racially mixed crowd of about 200 demonstrators gathered in front of the Venice, California, home of Ronald Weekley Jr., 20, who was taken into custody by Los Angeles Police Department officers on Saturday in front of a group of angry bystanders.

Part of the confrontation was captured on a cell phone video by an onlooker. The clip, which has been broadcast on television and the Internet, shows Weekley sprawled face down on a patch of grass outside his apartment as four officers pin him to the ground and one punches him in the face.

Weekley, a student at Xavier University in Louisiana, said he was grabbed by the hair and punched repeatedly by an officer while handcuffed. Weekley said he suffered a broken nose and cheekbone and has been restricted to a liquid diet since then.

"I thought I was going to die," Weekley told Reuters during the protest on Wednesday. "The only thing going through my mind was that I was going to die on my front porch in front of my family and friends."

Weekley's family has retained civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who represented the family of black Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, who was shot to death by a neighborhood watch volunteer earlier this year.

The boisterous but peaceful demonstrators, many of whom live in Weekley's middle-class neighborhood, chanted, "Justice now!" while some carried signs with such slogans as "Enough is enough" and "We demand peace from our police."

Weekley's father, Ronald Weekley Sr., said the family was demanding that the charges against his son be dropped and that officers involved in the incident "to be identified and held accountable publicly and professionally."

LAPD spokeswoman Karen Rayner said police officers tried to stop Weekley for illegally skateboarding in the street against traffic, and "he was subsequently arrested and booked for obstructing (and) resisting a police officer with force."

She said he also had three outstanding warrants against him, which Weekley's father said he believed related to curfew and bicycle-riding violations and driving without a license. She declined to give any further details of Weekley's encounter with police or what led to his arrest.

"As with all such use-of-force incidents, it will be investigated and reviewed at the highest levels of the department," Rayner said.

Hi all,

I found out that Unifi IPTV has only 30 channels?

Seems like the Chinese channels at Unifi not as much as Astro.

And can I get the Unifi IPTV without using their broadband? Because I am using the Maxis Fibre now.

How Singapore get independent?

On 31 August 1963, Singapore declared independence from Britain and joined with Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak to form the new Federation of Malaysia as the result of the 1962 Merger Referendum. Singaporean leaders joined Malaysia for various reasons. Firstly, as a small country, they did not believe that the British would find it viable for Singapore to become independent by itself. Secondly, they also did not believe that Singapore could survive on its own, due to scarcity of land, water, markets and natural resources. And lastly, the Singapore government wanted the help of the Malaysian government to flush out the Communists. The two years that Singapore spent as part of Malaysia were filled with strife and bitter disagreements. The Malaysians insisted on a pro-Malay society, where Malays were given special Bumiputera rights, which still exist to this day. The Malaysians were also suspicious about Singapore's majority of ethnic Chinese and worried that Singapore's economic clout would shift the centre of power from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. There were also linguistic and religious issues. The Singaporeans, on the other hand, wanted an equal and meritocratic society, where all citizens were given equal rights. As part of Malaysia, Singapore's economic and social development came to a halt as the Malaysian parliament blocked many bills. Race riots broke out in Singapore in 1964. After much heated ideological conflicts between the two governments, in 1965, the Malaysian parliament voted 126 to 0 to expel Singapore from Malaysia.

Singapore gained independence as the Republic of Singapore (remaining within the British Commonwealth) on 9 August 1965[3] with Yusof bin Ishak as president and Lee Kuan Yew as prime minister. Every one who was present in Singapore on the date of independence was offered Singapore citizenship. In 1967, it helped found the Association of Southeast Asian Nations[24] and in 1970 it joined the Non-aligned movement. In 1990, Goh Chok Tong succeeded Lee as prime minister. During his tenure the country faced the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, the 2003 SARS outbreak and terrorist threats posed by Jemaah Islamiyah. In 2004, Lee Hsien Loong, the eldest son of Lee Kuan Yew, became the country's third prime minister.

US man accused of torturing

WASHINGTON: A West Virginia man has been arrested for torturing his wife, making her a slave and holding her hostage in chains for nearly a decade, authorities said.

Jackson County officials have charged Peter Lizon of Leroy with malicious wounding after his wife showed up at a nearby shelter with scars on her wrists and ankles caused by her limbs being chained up with metal padlocks, local media reported.

Lizon, 37, had also allegedly smashed her feet with farming equipment. He called his wife a "slave" and made her kneel before him whenever he entered the room.

"This is a case that is tenfold of what our average domestic (violence) is and maybe more than that," Jackson County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Tony Boggs told NBC television affiliate WSAZ. "It comes down to what appears to be slavery and torture."

Lizon's wife Stephanie, 43, suffered a wide range of injuries all over her body, from being severely burned on her breasts and back with hot irons and frying pans to broken fingers and bruises, according to a criminal complaint filed by a woman who met her at the shelter and cited by local media.

The woman also claimed that Lizon hit his wife in the stomach while she was pregnant, causing her to have a miscarriage and bury the fully developed infant on the farm property.

She also allegedly was made to give birth to another baby while chained, and neither have received medical attention since.

"It's amazing what one human being can do to another," Boggs said. "And that should not ever happen or be allowed to happen. And hopefully this will stop and curtail that, at least in this instance."

But Lizon's attorney Shawn Bayliss denied the claims, telling WSAZ that the miscarriage was caused by an accident with an all terrain vehicle.

He said the woman who filed the criminal complaint had a "feeble mind," noting that Lizon's wife was standing by her husband despite the alleged abuse.

On July 2, Lizon drove his wife and their one-year-old child off the property for an errand, during which Stephanie walked away from the truck and hid at a local dance facility before catching a ride to a local shelter, according to the complaint. She left the child behind.

Lizon is being held in jail on $300,000 bond. - AFP
