How To Delete/Format Data in 2.5" HDD

Hi All Gurus/ Experts

I've a 2.5" ide hdd (40GB) with files/data inside including Windows XP OS taken out from my dead laptop.

I've put the hdd in a USB 2.0 external box and connect it to my new netbook. But failed to install the driver for the hdd.

So, is there any other means and ways to delete/format all data inside this hdd.

Needed help urgently!!
