Need a recomendation for a CASE + PSU

Hello,

I plan to build an unraid system (Those who are interested we can both purchase the license key and save nearly 50% from the original cost). Basically it will be a storage server.

What I have now is

3 x 3TB Western Digital Green

1 x 1TB Western Digital Black

1 x 1TB Seagate Barracuda

1 x 1TB Samsung F3

Basically all of these will be combined into 1 system.

My future plan would be to slowly replace the 1TB drives to 3TB in the future, however I want the system to be able to hold at least 9 - 10 HDDs.

I need to know, what sort of PSU would I need and most importantly, what sort of casing that would be able to hold 9 to 10 HDDs.

My budget for the casing is less than RM300. For PSU, no budget but nothing about 1000Watts.

I will be using an Intel G620 system. Basically , very low powered system.

Hello guys,

I have a Linksys WRT54GL router to sell.

It is quite flexible as you can flash DDWRT / Tomato custom firmware on it, depending on the function that you require.

I personally prefer Tomato custom firmware.

Its good for those who lives in a home with a few people as you can limit the bandwidth per computer. Therefore, no one can hog the network. The router has been used for more than a year and is still standing strong without any problems. Have been operating non stop 24/7.

I have replaced it with a wireless N router from Asus as I need the gigabit connection for my project at home.

Releasing it at RM115 only.

Transferring Money to China

I have a bank account with Maybank.

Prior to this, I have been paying someone money in RM, and he would transfer the money to an online payment account that I use.

The rates that he provides is the best among every other agents here, however for transactions around RM10 000, about RM700 would go to him. This is too much in my opinion since I usually transfer more than RM10 000 per month.

I had a friend in China to open up a bank account for me.

Now I have a bank account with the Bank of Agricultural China (http://www.abchina.com/en/)

My question is, how can i transfer money from my maybank account to my other account in Bank of Agricultural China?

Do I use maybank2u's Foreign TT service? If so , what is the rate from RM to RMB (Where do i check) and what are the transfer charges?

Your help would be very much appreciated.

Importing stuff from China

I am planning to import stuff from china.

DHL and UPS is out of the question as they wouldn't transport branded stuff from China.

I know there are plenty of taobao agents here but the amount of stuff that I import is quite big so I have decided to import them on my own to save the cost.

Which local company that i could contact that has a warehouse in china who would be able to transport electronical items for me to Malaysia?

There is no concern for tax yet, so let's just base our discussion on a local courier company who does this

Please don't recommend any taobao agents as the stuff are not from taobao.

Hello guys, I am planning to sell my Lenovo G770 laptop. It was purchased on 14th of February from zhen^wei. There is no problem with the laptop and it look brand new. I usually carry it in my Everki bag which has a special compartment for the laptop which prevents it from getting any scratches. The laptop is connected mostly to a power line therefore the battery is rarely used (The battery is taken out of the laptop when connected to a power line to avoid over charging it).

The laptop is used mostly for my assignments and that is about it. The keyboard is covered with a silicon casing that I purchased from ebay USA. You wouldn't find any scratches / marks on the laptop as i wipe and clean it every week. I use a cyber clean goo to grab dusts which are too tiny to be wiped and thus there is no accumulation of dusts.

You will also get lenovo's original carrying bag that is unused along with the box and manuals and everything else.

The laptop looks brand new so if you are on a budget this is possibly the best deal for you. I am upgrading to a different laptop as i plan to run more than 6 VMWare Operating Systems (This laptop handles 6 VMs without any issue)

It comes with a genuine windows 7 Home premium installation (64-bit)

Hello guys,

The reason why I am posting this here is because I think I could get more help from the experts here.

So basically this is the story.

My friend, lets call her Elisa. So Elisa's dad has known this guy for about 5 years. There were once working together. The friend is a foreigner from India. A few months ago, the foreigner wanted to buy a motorcycle. The only problem is he couldn't secure a loan himself. He doesn't have any valid documents as what I have been told. He approached Elisa's father and asked him to take up the loan under his own name. Elisa's father being naive (he isn't educated) decided to help this friend out.

He took the loan under his own name, and purchased the motor under his own name as well. The documents and all were given to the foreigner. For the first 2 months, the foreigner was paying his part of the loan. He also paid the deposit of Rm600+. He stopped paying for the month of July and the bank immediately took the payment out from his bank account. They are in financial trouble, planning for their daughter's wedding and so a loss of RM300 is huge considering his income is less than RM1000.

He contacted the foreigner but the foreigner didn't want to cooperate. He said that he would return the motor back if Elisas's dad would pay him the full deposit amount and the amount of money that he had spent on Elisa's dad whenever they went out. (The foreigner constantly calls Elisas's dad out for a drink and would pay without Elisas's dad asking). Elisa's dad setup a meeting with this guy, but he didn't appear. He has about 3 or 4 mobile numbers that he sends to her dad asking for payments on the motor to get it back and whenever they try to call him, either he doesn't pick up or he turns off his phone right after.

With my advice, they filed a police report after visiting the shop where they purchased the motor from (worth RM7xxx) and the clerk was able to provide them the documentations as the purchase was under Elisa's dad's name. After typing out the report, the officer in charge wasn't too helpful. She told them that they would have to go to Jinjang and meet the officer there. They would receive a call prior to that and only then are they allowed to see the officer. They waited for a day but received no calls. Elisa tried calling the female officer who took her report and she seemed uninterested. The female officer then told her to take the motor back themselves.

What can Elisa and her dad do in this situation?

Hello guys.

I am planning to purchase a Xbox360 but first there is something that I require assistance with.

Monitor : Dell U2412M (DisplayPort, DVI-D, VGA)
HT Receiver: Niro Nakamichi two 6.1 (NO HDMI [Only S/PDIF / Optical])

As of the moment, My desktop is connected to my monitor via a DVI-D-to-HDMI adapter. This leaves the VGA slot and DisplayPort slot open. My Desktop has only 1 HDMI output (NO VGA / DVI-D) so I cannot substitute it.

Now I know I would have to get a HDMI Switch. However, there is another issue.

How do I connect the XBOX360 to my monitor via HDMI (Through the switch of course) and then the sound would be output via optical out to my receiver?

Is there a device for this?

My Personal Review on the Ramos W17Pro.

I felt honoured to be able to review such a piece of a device. Normally I am not a fan of white coloured anything, nor any color anything. I prefer black for my gadgets and

that should be it. However, the white Ramos W17Pro won my heart. Looking at it, you'd notice how beautiful it looks compared to the ones you see in picture. Trust me, you would appreciate it more in your hands than watching it in pictures. Now, Let us unbox this device.

First thing you see upon opening the box is a 7" Screen Protector (That I provide for free)

We put the screen protector aside, and the reason for this review is revealed. Its hidden behind a very fine piece of fabric.

Included is a user manual (Chinese), USB cable, a Power Adapter(100v-240v) and a european plug adapter(That I provide for free)

Now, lets get down to business.

Users must know that this tablet doesn't come bundled with Google play (Android Market), therefore the only way of installing applications is sideloading them. (Put the .apks in the storage of the device from your computer, and use a file explorer to locate and install the .apk)

There is a solution though. You can root the device, and then follow a brand of methods to get your google market running. However, for those who are brave, you can download a custom firmware that comes preloaded with the android market.

The android operating system has come a long way from its 2.2 days. Upon pressing the power button, you will notice a very nice lockscreen. It is minimal and soothing to the eyes. Once you're passed the lockscreen, you're greeted with an analogue clock widget.

I swiped my fingers across the screen, and although the screen was still covered with its original protective plastic film, my fingers gesterus were picked up accurately. I did not struggle with the touchscreen at all.

Browsing through the thousands of apps and games on google play has never been so easy with the 7" screen.

I installed a few games to test the device's capability. Do take note that there is a "CPU mode" option in the settings menu. You can choose either "normal" mode or "performance" mode. If I am not mistaken, the "normal" mode clocks the processor to a maximum frequency of 1.2GHz whereas the "performance" mode overclocks the processor to a maximum frequency of 1.5GHz. For my testing, the tablet was running under the "normal" mode since I did not see the need for a strong clock as everything was running smoothly.

I fired up "Angry Birds Space" and without having to wait, everything loaded instantly. Gameplay was as smooth as silk. There was no lag, granted that this isn't a cpu intensive game, however, seeing how everything was running without any hint of lag / slowdown, a smile was lit up on my face. I could never do the same with my Dell Streak phone.

My fingers motion and location were picked up accurately which helped me to fire my "birds" more accurately. I then moved on to a racing game, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline. The game was smooth throught my entire gaming session and I was hooked. I am not a gamer, but looking at the capabilities of this amazing device, a few minutes turned nearly into an hour.

I decided to test the browsing capability of this device. Running the current version of "Dolhpin Browser", I decided to load a few websites and compared the ramos with my Dell Streak. My Dell Streak was beaten by the Ramos tablet when it came to loading pages of various sites. Youtube videos played smoothly on this device.

This device manages to run everything smoothly and did not even show any signs of slowdown. I threw a 1080P blueray movie at it, and it played the movie with no complaints whatsoever. It played as if I was playing it on my computer. There were no skips / slowdowns / audio-out-of-sync during the few minutes of me watching the movie.

I was impressed with the battery life, as through my testing of 3 hours, the battery dropped a mere 10 - 15 % .

My only gripe with this tablet is it's lack of a HDMI port. It would be nice to connect it to a bigger screen monitor, however, a tablet this size is usually bought for portability therefore there is no need to connect it to an external display device. The screen is not an IPS screen, however, if your head angle is in the right position, it would look as good as an IPS screen.

Overall, the quality of this tablet is astounding. From the body, right up to it's features. It would definately bring out the geek in you making you explore every part of it without realizing the flow of time.

COD (Cash On Demand)

Hey guys,

I am planning to run a business, but its quite hard for me to COD with customers outside of Selangor / KL.

A few friends from Iran mentioned that in their country, when people order something, the postmen would deliver the item to their house, and would then collect the payment at the same time. Therefore , people don't have to send any payments first. Just have cash ready upon delivery.

I did some searching and found out that a local online business, provides the COD option as well. They stated that payment would be made to the courier upon delivery. An example screenshot is provided below.

What I want to know is, which courier company provides this sort of service?
