Hairdresser turns robber into sex-slave

A hairdresser from the small Russian town of Meshchovsk has subdued a man who tried to rob her shop, and then raped him for three days in the utility room, Life.ru reports.

The incident occurred on Saturday, March 14. The working day was coming to an end at a small hairdressers, when a man armed with a gun rushed in and demanded the day’s earnings.

The frightened employees and customers agreed to fulfill his demand, but when the shop’s owner, 28-year-old Olga, was handing the money to the robber, she suddenly knocked him down on the floor and then tied him up with a hairdryer cord. The 32-year-old Viktor couldn’t have known that the woman was a yellow belt in karate.

Olga locked the unlucky robber in the utility room and told her colleagues that she was going to call the police – but didn’t do so. When everybody left home, she approached the man and ordered him to ‘take of his underpants’ threatening to hand him over to the police if he refuses to cooperate.

After that Olga raped her hostage for three long days. She chained Viktor to the radiator with pink furry handcuffs and fed him <removed>.

She eventually let the man go on Monday, March 16, saying: “Get out of my sight!”

Viktor went straight to hospital as his genitals were injured, and then to the police.

Olga was resentful when she was taken by the police.

“What a *******,” the woman said about Viktor. “Yes, we had sex a couple of times. But I’ve bought him new jeans, gave him food and even gave him 1.000 roubles (around $ 30) when he left.”

After that she wrote a notice to the police claiming the man tried to rob her shop.

Both Olga and Viktor may now face prison terms. The woman could be convicted of rape, while the man of robbery.

End-of-season party is pain in the rear

There was a painful conclusion to an end-of-season party when a Welsh Non-League footballer suffered severe injuries after a pool cue was rammed up his backside.

An as yet unnamed 37-year-old midfielder for Tenby AFC, who play in the Pembrokeshire 1st Division, is still in hospital five days after the incident. A source, believed to be a team-mate, told the Mirror: "It was a bit of horseplay that went seriously wrong. We'd all had a few drinks when one of the lads did a moonie. A player picked up a pool cue and it all went wrong from there."

Another Tenby team-mate, 29, was arrested, but later released without charge by police.

Woman lodges rape report 18 years later

SHE was raped twice by her uncle when she was 13 but she waited until she was 31 to finally lodge a report against him.

Her decision to do so after 18 years was met with resistance from her family, including her own father, reported Sin Chew.

Relating her ordeal, the woman from Teluk Intan said she was raped by the man who was then 29 when she lived in his house.

“I told my aunt but she accepted my uncle’s excuse and did not take any action.

“My father who was aware of the incident also did nothing. He only sent me to live with another aunt,” she said, adding that the experience had left her emotionally scarred.

She was forced to seek counselling and medical treatment. The woman said her marriage ended in a divorce as she could not forget her ordeal

A psychologist said some parents could unknowingly make their sons acquire feminine qualities by dressing them up in "girlie" clothes at a young age, make them do housework without explaining the role of both genders in the society or due to the father being too strict.

Siti Aminah Omar, a lecturer in psychology at Universiti Teknologi Mara, said most children followed the wants and needs of their parents.

"Sometimes, a mother really wants a daughter but instead, she gives birth to a son. She then dresses him up like a girl and he grows up feeling more comfortable with his feminine side."

She said the mother's action would indirectly alter her son's personality.

Another reason is that many working mothers would ask their sons to do household chores, such as cleaning and cooking.

"Nothing is wrong with that. But the mothers often fail to explain to their sons that even though cleaning and cooking are traditionally done by women, men can also do them in order to become more independent."

She said boys doing household chores without properly understanding the roles played by the two genders would grow up thinking that it was normal to be female-like.

She was commenting on a news report that the Terengganu Education Department had sent 66 schoolboys with effeminate tendencies to a camp to help them address the problem.

Siti Aminah said in some families, the mothers were the ones who nurtured the children.

"The father is very strict and has a no-nonsense attitude. As the children reach their teenage years, they do not communicate with their father."

She said this group of young children would tend to have more feminine tendencies as "they feel more secure" in being reminded of their mothers.

She urged fathers to spend more time with their 13- to 16-year-old sons as "this is the time they are most confused about their identity".

She said most boys with feminine qualities tend to form their own support group to enable them to express themselves.

She said this problem had existed for a long time but that the boys were now becoming even bolder.

"Once they start sharing their problems, they will begin to think it is the norm."

She hoped that school administrators would identify such groups so as to provide them with counselling and help them deal with their emotions.

Meanwhile, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said the ministry viewed with alarm and great concern the act of sending the 66 schoolboys to a "boot camp".

"The experience of being singled out on the basis of perceived characteristics is an extremely traumatising experience, particularly for adolescent teens.

"Such profiling has potentially serious psychological repercussions and could harm the development and mental health of the children, as it exposes them to prejudices among their peers and members of their family and community."

Shahrizat said the ministry believed that such camps must be abolished as they did not serve the best interest of the child.

Also, she said the matter was a clear violation of the Child Act 2001, which stated that "every child is entitled to protection and assistance in all circumstances without regard to distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, social origin or physical, mental or emotional disabilities or any other status".

Obama: Libya mission succeeding, saved civilians

Washington: US President Barack Obama said on Saturday the international mission in Libya was clear and focused and succeeding and had saved countless innocents from a "bloodbath" threatened by Muammar Gaddafi.

Under increasing pressure to explain his strategy to Americans, Obama gave his most detailed review of the conflict so far, and insisted American national interests were behind his decision to order US forces into UN-mandated combat.

"Make no mistake, because we acted quickly, a humanitarian catastrophe has been avoided and the lives of countless civilians - innocent men, women and children - have been saved," Obama said in his radio and online address.

The president said a week into the operation that when innocent people were brutalized, by a leader like Gaddai threatening a "bloodbath" and when nations were prepared to respond together "it's in our national interest to act."

"And it's our responsibility. This is one of those times," Obama said. "Every American can be proud of the lives we've saved in Libya," he said.

The president has faced criticism that the mission to set up a no-fly zone is ill-conceived and has no clear end date or exit strategy, but he previewed arguments he is likely to muster in a national televised address on Monday.

"Our military mission in Libya is clear and focused," Obama said, noting the no-fly zone was mandated by the UN Security Council and that an international coalition was protecting Libyans to prevent "further atrocities."

"We're succeeding in our mission. We've taken out Libya's air defenses. Gaddafi's forces are no longer advancing across Libya. "In places like Benghazi, a city of some 700,000 that Qaddafi threatened to show 'no mercy' his forces have been pushed back," Obama said.

Obama made clear to Americans wary of yet another foreign military adventure however that the goals of the mission were limited and that "responsibility for this operation" would be transferred to US allies and Nato partners.

KOTA BARU: Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has called on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and other opposition leaders to cooperate with the police in their investigations into the sex video case.

The MCA president said Anwar, who has been implicated as one of the actors in the video, should come clean on the matter.

“The matter is in the hands of the police and we hope they conduct the investigation professionally.

“The onus is on Anwar to prove that he is not involved in the video and it is a golden opportunity for him to prove that he is innocent and give his fullest cooperation to the police in the course of the investigation,” Dr Chua told reporters after attending the MCA 1Medical fund-raising dinner at the Chinese Chamber of Commerce hall here last night.

Also present was Kelantan MCA committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen.

Dr Chua said the video issue should not be politicised, adding that the people should leave the matter to the police to investigate.

On another matter, he said he would lead an MCA delegation to meet Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat on April 3 to get the PAS spiritual leader's explanation on why the Kelantan government had banned the sale of lottery tickets.

“Nik Aziz has agreed to meet us although I have not discussed with party members on who should attend the meeting scheduled in the afternoon.

“MCA only wants to get a clear explanation on the reasons why the state government had banned the sale of the lottery tickets that is clearly infringing on the rights of the Chinese in Kelantan,” he added.

MCA had criticised the Kelantan government's move to ban the sale of Big Sweep lottery tickets after two bookshop owners were slapped with compound fines for selling them on Feb 26.

A TRADITIONAL healer in Pahang raped three women and their mother under the guise of bringing religious knowledge to them, Berita Harian reported.

The suspect first preyed on the mother, leading her to his house where he allegedly cast a spell on the woman in her 50s before sexually assaulting her.

He then told her he wanted to go to her house to pass on some religious material to her three daughters, in their 20s and 30s.

“The woman, apparently not conscious of what she was doing, followed his every bidding and brought him to her home near Rompin,” district police chief Deputy Supt Johari Jahaya said, adding that the women became his sex slaves since January.

He said initial investigations showed that one of the daughters had been raped at least seven times by the suspect, who is believed to be practising a deviant religious belief.

The case came to light when the husband of one of the victims, who works in Johor Baru, went to look for his wife to find out why she had not returned to their home for several months.

On reaching his mother-in-law’s house on March 15, the man saw the four women in a state of trance.

The suspect, who was at the house at that time, was overpowered in a scuffle that followed bet-ween the two men.

IIUM student flying home to take up arms alongside rebels

PETALING JAYA: International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) student Hussam Idris felt helpless at not being able to do anything about his family’s safety as the civil war in Libya worsens.

So, the 37-year-old is returning to Libya tomorrow to see how he can help his compatriots oust Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi – even if it means picking up a gun.

“I am worried for my family in Benghazi as Gaddafi’s troops are killing innocent civilians. I feel helpless. I don’t want to be in this situation,” said the post-graduate student who is studying Islamic banking and finance here.

Hussam said he would check on his mother and three brothers when he reached Benghazi, before joining the rebels to support their revolution.

On the intervention by international forces in Libya, the father of three said it was a “valiant” move.

“Gaddafi’s army does not differentiate between those who carry weapons and families. Gaddafi is the real enemy, not the United Nations,” he said here yesterday.

Other Libyans in Malaysia also lauded the air strikes against Gaddafi’s air defences, saying that the attacks would help protect innocent lives.

IIUM Tasawuf (Islamic studies) student Huda el-Saied Nosear started fasting yesterday and will continue to do so until Gaddafi’s forces withdraw and peace is achieved.

“I am praying for my family as well as for all Libyans,” said the 32-year-old from Zawya.

Computer science PhD student Mustafa Ali said he felt sorry if pro-Gaddafi Libyans were killed during the strikes by the US and European nations but there was no choice.

“We have to change the dictator. We hope to be free. Insya-Allah,” said the 32-year-old, who last spoke with his family in Misurata city last week.

“I don’t know the status of my family now as the telephone lines are down after Gaddafi’s forces surrounded the city. I can only pray that they are safe at this moment.”

However, another post-graduate student Yahya Shareef is sceptical about the international intervention as he was afraid the foreign forces had their own motives.

“If their purpose is to protect civilians, then I support them. But we do not want to end up like Iraq where the foreigners only wanted the country’s oil resources,” he said.

Yahya, 27, added that he could not concentrate on his studies because of his worries over the state of his country and his family.

The mountains control the people and the water governs the wealth. If there is a beautiful hill with ample of lush and flourishing plants, it will produce abundant of talented and brilliant people in that area and good for the health of the people in that area as well. If there is clean and deep water in a particular place, there will be plenty of wealthy people from the area. I will talk more about the water in my next post on “the feng shui of Singapore (part 3)”. Please stay tuned.

I love the hill of Bukit Mertajam as the shape of the hill is awesome with ample of lush and flourishing plants and hence it produces many remarkable people such as Dato Lee Chong Wei and Dato Sri Anwar Ibrahim.

However, if not because of the ‘broken hill’ as per the picture, I think Dato Sri Anwar Ibrahim should be the Prime Minister of Malaysia long ago and Dato Lee Chong Wei should be the ‘real world no 1 badminton player’. Even though he is ranked number 1 in the world ranking now but he has never won any major tournaments like Olympic, World Championship and Thomas Cup.[I]

I always said that Bukit Mertajam is a place that full of talented guys 臥虎藏龍的佳地. There are abundant of outstanding students from Jin Sin High School and Bukit Mertajam High School. Thus, please preserve the hill well and it is good for the people in the area.

KAJANG: Screen and TV celebrity Janet Khoo, listed by a men’s magazine as one of the 100 sexiest women in the country, is fearing for her life following the gory death of her brother early this month.

Businessman Khoo Kim Leong, 47, was reportedly beaten up and strangled before his body was thrown into a ravine at Lembah Pangsun, near here.

Family tragedy:
A passer-by found the decomposed body while walking in the area at about 11.40pm on March 6.

Kim Leong was found dead with his legs tied and his body wrapped in a mattress.

It is believed that he was involved in a heated argument before his tragic death.

Trying hard to hold back her tears, a distraught Janet, 39, said it was painful to talk about her brother’s brutal murder.

“His death was so tragic. It’s a police case now. I’m sorry I can’t reveal the details because my life and my family’s life are in danger right now,” she told the Daily Chilli, the news portal of The Star.

“It’s so painful to see my brother’s body which was beyond recognition.

“I am still shocked over what had happened and hope the public will give me and my family some time to calm down.”

Janet had appeared in award-winning TV dramas and films, including a lead role in the 2003 blockbuster Paloh about the confrontation between the Japanese occupation forces and the local people in the 1940s and the self-produced Haryati for Astro Ria in 2005.

Janet said she and her family had been advised by the police to take precautions because revenge was believed to be the motive behind her brother’s murder.

“I’m not even allowed to discuss his funeral details. I hope my fans and my media friends can understand my situation.

“I appreciate everyone’s concern. But at present, I need to protect my family and myself,” she said.

Meanwhile, police said they had detained two suspects in their 30s for questioning.

saloon workers fined for wearing 3/4 sleeves

KOTA BARU: A hair salon owner is fuming after she was issued a summons for allowing an employee to wear a three-quarter-sleeved blouse while on duty at her salon on March 6.

The owner, who declined to be named, said she was upset because her employee was washing a client’s hair when the Kota Baru Municipal Council enforc-ement officer raided her salon.

“I would not mind paying the fine if my employee was not wearing a headscarf, which is a violation of the business permit conditions, but it is ridiculous to issue a summons for wearing a three-quarter-sleeved shirt.

“She was washing my client’s hair and it would be messy if she was wearing a long-sleeved shirt,” she said.

The salon owner was issued a summons under the municipal Trade and Industry 1989 By-law.

She also accused the council of double standards as other establishments had workers who did not wear headscarves.

“Why only target my salon when the others clearly flout the law and should be issued with summonses?” she asked.

MCA central committee member Datuk Ti Lian Ker said the council’s action was “unconventional” and “unbecoming”.

“This is sending the wrong signal to the world about Malaysia,” he said, blaming the PAS-led Kelantan government for the actions of the council.

“Most people prefer to take the ‘easy way out’ for fear of repercussions from local authorities.

“This is not the first time that such a summon had been issued,” he said, adding that many often paid up because they did not want trouble with the local authorities.

Ti said this could also give the wrong impression that people were condoning such laws.

The Kelantan Government had recently come under heavy criticism after banning the sale of lottery tickets.

BANGKOK: It’s game over for retired Thai tennis star Paradorn Srichaphan and his wife, former Miss Universe Natalie Glebova, who are separating after three years of marriage.

The couple said in a statement on Thursday that they decided to split last July because work commitments had kept them apart.

“Over the past few years, responsibilities and work turned our married life in a different direction. However, we still care for each other and we are still good friends,” the couple said in the statement issued by their publicists.

The former No. 9-ranked tennis player and Canadian pageant queen have launched beauty products, diet supplements and a Bangkok restaurant together.

They said in the statement they planned to continue to do business with one another.

The pair met at the Thailand Open on the ATP Tour in 2006, a year after Glebova was crowned Miss Universe.

They quickly became one of Bangkok’s most recognisable celebrity couples and were married in September 2007, the year that Paradorn’s tennis career ended due to a wrist injury.

Paradorn’s father and former coach, Chanachai Srichaphan, was quoted in Thai newspapers as saying the couple continued to share the same house but no longer as husband and wife. — AP

Kota Kinabalu: Caesro Events is calling for entries for its Sabah's Strongest Man Challenge 2011 event, which would be held at Star City in Asia City here, on March 26 and 27, this year.

Event and Games Director Roger Frederick said this second edition of the Sabah's Strongest Man Challenge would be giving away a total of RM4,600 in cash prizes and is inviting all strongmen in the state to submit their entries.

"The Challenge this year will be giving away lots of attractive cash prizes including a RM1,500 winner's purse and RM1,000 for second place.

"There will also be cash prizes of RM700 and RM400 for third and fourth place respectively, while fifth and sixth place participants will get RM300 and RM200 each," he said.

Aside from that participants will stand a chance to win an additional RM100 for winning each of the five disciplines that will be contested.

"This year's event will have disciplines, namely the Choked Truck Pull, Tire Flip, Farmers Walk, Car Deadlift and Atlas Stone challenges," said Roger, who is also the spokesperson for the event.

The Choked Truck Pull will see competitors try to pull a 12 tonne truck where the fastest completing time will win the challenge.

The Tire Flip will require competitors to flip a 250kg bulldozer wheel across a predetermined distance, which is similar to the Farmer's Walk challenge except that competitors will carry two 100kg loads.

The Car Deadlift will test competitors to the limit where they have to lift the front side of a car as many times as possible within a stipulated time.

The other challenge will see participants try to lift five Atlas Stones weighing from 90-130kg onto a platform.

According to Roger a total of 15 participants have already confirmed their entries and that more are expected to register in the coming weeks.

Among those who have confirmed their participation is last year's champion James Wee from Penampang as well as others from outside the State Capital.

"We want to make this event even better and more exciting than last year's inaugural tournament. So far we have exceeded last year's number of entries and we expect more to register soon.

"We have also organised various other activities and programmes for visitors of all ages to enjoy," he added.

The carnival like event will be filled with activities and entertainment for everyone in the family and all city dwellers are invited to witness the challenge and join in on the fun and frills during the two days.

For those who wish to get a preview of what the action will be like, an unrelated event, which is being held at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex this weekend will provide some description.

Entry for the Sabah's Strongestman Challenge 2011 is open until March 5th for early bird registrants (with a discounted fee of RM150), after which entry fees will be RM300 per contestant.
