Any Sourdough parent here?

Any sourdough parent here? I started making sourdough starter past few weeks using organic unbleached wheat flour. After continuous feeding, the sourdough starter is only growing like max 50% of its size.

I have looked through a lot of tips from the online website and tried them, but not much successes. I sort of like the sweet sour-ish smell that the started gave out, so was adamant about using wheat flour. Last resort would be to switch to rye flour.

Any tips? Or please do share your sourdough starter and how it looks like?

Same old UTP vrsus UTM

Hey there,

First of all I am gonna bore you guys with the never ending talk on UTP vrsus UTM.

Well, I am a diploma graduate from Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Right now, I am waiting for UPU rayuan results which will be released on 3rd week of September, I applied for chemical engineering courses in UTM. Yet on the bright side, I got an offer from UTP (also for chemical engineering) which I have to answer before 9th of September 2011.

My plan is going to be like this,

Plan 1-
Accept UTP, and wait for UPU results, then decide. This will cost me a portion of my own savings to pay for UTP's EXPENSIVE fees and if I do get a place in UTM (fingers crossed), leave UTP. I am calling UTP later to figure out the fine that I am required to pay to UTP if i leave. But if there is anybody here who knows about it, you are free to tell me.

Plan 2-
Wait for UPU, and pray, hope and wish that I get a place in UTM. If no, ehem.. ehem..

Anybody here wish to marry me??

Foot note: I feel the upu system is such a shite. My pointer is higher than average, a JPA scholar, I participate in extra-curricular bla, bla, bla.. Yet, I still do not get a place for my degree. Fyi, I chose UTM, UMP and UKM for my UPU first intake selection (all for chemical engineering courses). Now, I am put in a I-might-not-have-a-place-for-degree limbo world. I know that I got an offer from UTP but the fees. Man. *pengsan*
I do not come from a wealthy family, scholarships offer is now all closed. I am in attachment with JPA. (I do wonder, where do the JPA scholars work? I mean what company and etc. Anybody can tell?). How can I apply for other scholarship. PTPTN? I am considering that right now. I am sick of Malaysian Education System.
haih. I just need to get this out of me, after long battle in the field of education. (chewaah)

I have a few questions on UTP-
1) Any scholarship offerred by UTP? ( Petronas, Shell, JPA, is all closed)
2) I heard UTP is going to be handed back to Perak state? Have anybody heard of it? No more Petronas? (UMS now trying to get ties from Petronas!!)
3) Any other informations on chemical engineering courses in UTP? What major and etc? Credit transfer?
4) Lastly, I am compiling a list of pros and cons for UTP? Can anybody provide me an insight of UTP?

UTM-
I guess we all know that UTM is a RU, IPTA so its well funded by government and etc. Any other insights from UTM? And since I am a Diploma students, credit transfers is quite important to me so that I can finish earlier. Though I doubt that I can finish the degree in 3 years for both UTP and UTM due to the difference in syllabus system and I don't know how the 'transfer' works. hmm. I am so messed up, i mean my life.

So here am I, any second opinions? or suggestions? or there is somebody out there who wants to marry me? hahaha, I am joking.

I am currently in my last semester for Diploma of Chemical engineering and
I am so lost of what, where am I going to after this. I yearn to be like my other friends who go to overseas and study but my family ain't that rich.
I used to go to interviews (before going to Diploma) blablabla. Yet I still ended up in Malaysia.
I really want prove to others that I can do more, I can do big. But now I am lost.

Yes, I will apply for IPTA and also UTP. But can I know if there is other options. Options to study abroad, scholarships and loans, good engineering universities.

For IPTA, which is the better option if i pursue in Engineering courses? UTM?
