Shure SRH 145M+

Hi guys,
Need you fellow audiophiles feedback about this model Shure SRH 145M+. It's priced about RM180 based on my finding on Google...but do you guys know any trusted shop (preferably physical shop, not online shopping store like Lazada, etc.) which sells this particular model at the cheapest price possible, in Klang Valley? I'm also open to feedback about this model, how durable, how portable, the sound quality, whether it works well with smartphones, laptops, PC, etc. Thanks in advance.

-glow-

Hi guys, I'm trying to work on my PC and laptop at the same time, sharing 1 monitor. Currently my monitor has dual inputs, VGA which is connected to my laptop and DVI which is connected to my PC. When both is connected and turned on, I can only see display from my PC. When I switch to laptop display (by pressing Fn + CRT/LCD button), nothing happens, just that my laptop goes blank, but my monitor still shows display from my PC.

Is it I cannot connect both sources VGA + DVI to one monitor at the same time? Is there any workaround for my problem, or there's any setting I need to change in order to switch conveniently between laptop and PC display? Need advice. Thanks in advance guys!!

-glow-

New job + offer in hand

Hi guys. I need some opinions, feedback, ideas, suggestion and advices on my current situation or 'dilemma' that I am in.

Basically I just joined a new work just over a month and a half ago. The new job is fine, with some things I'd like if there were some improvements or changes, which is highly unlikely (language-see below). The work I'm doing now is different from what I did in my previous job. I'm a software engineer, and now I'm doing ERP software. I used to deal with windows softwares, hardwares, cameras, different industry (electrical & engineering manufacturing), machineries, etc. And now I'm sitting in the office doing ERP, (though not much work yet), no travelling like what I used to do back in my last job. Not much programming.

The colleagues are all fine (All chinese except 1 Malay and another Indian just like me), but those 2 are hardly around. So I'm stuck with all Chinese (not being racist here). You know when a certain community are at large, they tend to speak their own language within themselves unless they are the English-spoken modern day person, which is quite rare when it comes to Chinese. So here I am stuck in the office, they all are talking and joking within themselves and I'm basically lost in my own world. Yes they do share some jokes and information to me every now and then, and we do go to lunch together often, almost every single day, and at the lunch place is the same. They all speak in their own language which leaves me stranded and left guessing what they are speaking. I'm a quite reserved person, so this language barrier adds to my social misery. I do not wish to demand or request them to speak in English just for me to understand, I mean if I was in their place, it would be awkward to speak English with your fellow race friend just to accommodate another person who doesn't understand your language. I mean you can't control these things right. Besides that, they are friendly colleagues and I have no complains over them whatsoever.

Another thing is, I just got an offer from one of my ex-customers for me to work for them. This boss called me up and asked me to join them and take over their software team, take in charge of the software maintenance and development, I will have my own team working under me, and I can choose to request for new hire as well if I think I need more people. This industry is what I've been used to for 3 years before joining my current job, and I enjoy the previous industry alot, because I get to travel, meet new people, and I know the work around my job. This boss is offering me 26.67% more than what I'm currently earning. I think it should be safe for me to reveal the salary. RM5700 from my current salary RM4500. And my job before my current job was paying me RM3700.

So I'm thinking in a span of few months (less than a year), my salary potentially could jump from RM3700 to RM5700, which is unbelievable for me. Getting RM5700 would mean the world to me, I could pay off all my loans faster, enjoy life more after that (theoretically). This offer is what the boss gave me after I quoted him RM5900. I think I could still negotiate to RM5800 or back to 5900 with him, because I think he's quite desperate for a programmer. But even with 5700 I'm happy, just think I would push to 5900 if I could.

Another stumbling block I'm facing is my current job requires me to give them 3 months notice! 3 months! That's so long. I know I should have looked into all the matter I mentioned above before I signed this job, but situation made me desperate to move and accept this job because of some personal problems. So my dilemma is, I'm thinking how do I tell my current employer that I want to quit? What reasons could I give them? It is plainly because of better salary, and back to the job I like. Plus this 3 months notice is long. I mean even with annual leaves offset, it will be still like more than 2 1/2 months. Any suggestion on how to overcome this problem? I have few ideas in mind:

1. Ask the new boss to buy me off by paying my current company salary in lieu, which I haven't discuss with the new boss yet.
2. Resign and serve 3 months by biting my teeth.
3. Extreme move- give 24 notice, some out of this world reason, not pay my current job anything, escape to the new job.

I feel bad towards my current employers because I just joined them, and suddenly if I'm leaving, it's gonna leave a bad name to me in the long run, and my name might be highlighted in the job agency list as bad record.

Please help me and advise.

Thanks in advance guys!

-glow-

problem

I got a confession to make. I got a b**** of an annoying GF. I can't make any sense why she always has a question for everything that happens in life and her favorite question is 'WHY?'. I am having mental and emotional torture because of her and I feel I have wasted my 4 years being with her. We are on the verge of getting engaged soon and marry but I'm really thinking of giving this relationship a serious reconsideration. Sad to say that I feel my life has gone almost backwards after being with her, by effectively losing my family and practically my already impotent social life is further being reduced by her constant rules, regulations and warnings of not mixing with certain people she doesn't like. I am not happy

Notice Period Breach

Heard from a friend that if your company requires you to give them 2 months notice before leaving, but you give them 24 hour notice and leave, usually they won't take legal action against you, because the cost of employing a lawyer to handle the case is higher than your 2 months salary. Is this true? Anybody has done it before?

Kelisa Air-Cond RHS Blue Meter

You know in Kelisa, the air-cond panel, on your right hand side there is this blue color dialer-like meter. Supposedly it's to set the air-cond cooling level in the car, but most of the time it doesn't work, whichever side I turn it to. What's the actualy purpose of it and does it really work? If it does, which position should the dialer be set at? Thanks.
