Windows auto-reboot / BSOD on startup

Hello everyone,

I hope that someone will be able to advise me on the following matter. Recently there was a power surge which resulted in the failure of my PSU and possibly the mobo/ video card (the card was cold when a back up PSU was hooked up). I then decided to make the leap from the AGP system to PCI-E, changing the mobo, video card, RAM, PSU and CPU.

Basically I now run the following set up:

Pentium D 930
Asus P5LD2 Deluxe mobo
Seasonic 500w PSU
Corsair 1GB DDR2 666
X-Fi
nVidia 7900GT
Maxtor 2 x 80GB HDD (1 x SATA, 1 X IDE, one with Windows on it [both from old system])
DVD RW
DVD ROM (Both DVDs on the same IDE channel)

When reaching the Windows loading screen, the computer will automatically reboot itself for some reason. What I did was to insert the Windows XP start up/ installation disc and to set the appropriate DVD drive to first priority, and booting the disc. Then begins the process of loading the drivers etc, once this is done I was notified ' starting Windows', where I immediately encountered the 'Error 0x0000007B' BSOD.

I then removed the X-Fi, one of the DVD drives and one of the hard disks to try to minimize 'clutter'. I still received the 'Error 0x0000007B' BSOD, even with the hard disk swapped around.

MS knowledge database suggests that it is either a boot sector virus (not applicable), device driver issues, hardware issues, or a corrupted boot volume. Not exactly sure how do I go about this for now.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to how I should go about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Elb's Images

Finally after a long time, I've decided that I would have a little gallery of my own here. I will not upload everyday though, so please bear with me! Images have been resized to 650 x 433 pixels based on 3:2 ratio, with the quality set to 50% of the original.

Why only 50%, you say (as asked by cfyung85)? For the following reasons:
1) Bandwidth.
2) Its a fine line between sharing with people wonderful images you took, and people with principles saving your picture and calling it as you own. I know that good photographers would NEVER take another photographer's images and call it their own mostly out of pride for their own work, but not everyone behaves like that unfortunately. Therefore I watermark my work (I apologize if it distracts you) and set it to 50-55% image quality.

I will see if I can post according to theme, but I think it will most likely to be random.

So here we go, let me kick off with some not-so-spectacular pictures (otherwise you'll expect too much from me, hehheh )

1.

2.

3.

Please feel free to criticize me. The more the better I'd say, but in a constructive manner please!

Also, you can find more of my photography in my DeviantArt gallery. Expect overlap, can't help it! And do drop me a message in dA if you are there!
