Why Lotus priced higher in 1Malaysia

Seeing as Lotus is owned by proton, why is it still subjected to those full excise taxes which affects most foreign cars?

For example, a Lotus Evora in the USA would cost about USD $70,000 (source: motortrend.com) which is equivalent to about RM 220,000.

However, the same Lotus Evora in Malaysia would cost RM 443,480 (source: paultan.org) which double the price of the same car in the USA.

What is the reason for this difference in price?

i got to know this girl the other day

as we were talking, she mentioned about her job as a property agent and how much commission she earns etc.

some details:
- she earns 1.5% commission of the house sale
- currently selling a house worth RM 3.2 million of which 1.5% is RM 48, 000.
- she's only 24 years old this year
- never completed her university degree as she started working as an agent since she was 21
- drives an Audi TT

if we take into account that she sells a similar priced house once every month, her annual income would be around RM 550, 000.

that's really good money for someone so young having no proper university qualifications, no rich parents/boyfriends backing her up, no real talents except maybe looking good and having decent social skills.

Retake Manual Driving Classes

Hi. I have 6 years driving experience and for the last 5 years plus I have been driving an automatic transmission car. (my first car was manual but only drove it for 3 months or so)

I think I would have forgotten how to properly drive a manual car and need some refreshing and practice. Im going to transfer to work overseas and the company is going to give me a car with manual transmission.

So isit possible to contact any driving school to take classes but do not sit for the driving test?

or any other alternatives?
