I do know this is a men's fashion zone - but I am looking around for a good bespoke tailor for a ladies' suit.

It will be a birthday gift for my 21 year old daughter - i think it is about time she should have a set of formal wear.

Would appreciate some recommendations or pointers on tailors who have experience doing blazer / jacket for ladies with short skirt / long skirt / pants.

Budget wise - RM2k or thereabouts.

Thanks!

Disaster Combination DLink X5460 & COVR1870

Just to give you guys a warning - don't try this

I have a Dlink DIR-X5460 and I just bought a pair of COVR-1870.

Used WPS to configure each of the 1870 units and after that I relocated the first 1870 upstairs to testing it out.

The LED light on 1870-1 was flashing white, which means weak connection.

Then I contacted DLink support to confirm if I can plug in the 1870-1 directly to the X5460 main router downstairs via Ethernet cable (into LAN port).

After the confirmation, I plugged it in and waited for 5 mins.

The main router X5460 hung. I could not access anything.

Have to reboot the main router before things starts to work.

Went back upstairs, the 1870-1 LED now flashing orange.

Update : Spoke to DLink support - managed to get the connection X5460 <--->1870 to work.

But in the end, the performance of the 1870 is no match to X5460.

IMPORTANT : DO NOT use WPS to setup the 1870 as extender to the X5460.

1 Device with 2 IP Address in Mesh WiFi env

Got a question about Mesh wifi systems - if i have a mesh wifi setup with 2 mesh units - when i move from one area to another cover by diff units, will my IP address assigned by the DHCP in the router change or remain the same ?

Right now I have 2 units of Dlink DIR-X5460 - 1 unit is the main router connected to the modem and the 2nd X5460 is connected to the 1st one with Cat6 UTP cable from the WAN/Internet port of the 2nd unit.

And when I connected both the 2nd unit will autoconfig acts as an AP (?). The 2nd unit's setting for Internet is set to DHCP mode and the wireless part DHCP is ENABLED.

And I make the SSID and password for the 2nd unit same as the first unit.

Devices can connected and surf the net.

But I notice my iPhone was on 192.168.0.101 when i am near the first unit but later becomes 192.168.0.104 when i am near the second unit.

Is this even normal ? I thot for 2nd unit to act as an AP, we should turn off DHCP on the 2nd unit right ?

Any logical explanation for this ?

I am also not sure if this setup is a mesh wifi tho .....

I bought 2 D-Link AX5400 DIR-X5460 routers for my new house - one for downstairs and 1 for upstairs.

I have managed to configure #1 to connect to Time Broadband and it works fine.

I'd like to put #2 upstairs - is there a way for me to make the 2nd router to have the same SSID as #1 router?

Appreciate any help and advice on this.

Thanks!

Hi

I am planning to replace my windows and sliding doors for the house.

So I am down to 2 suppliers - Vinca Tropical and Optima.

I have read some reviews on Optima here but not much feedback on Vinca uPVC windows.

Anyone experienced Vinca's products before ? How was it ? I was impressed with their sound insulation, which seems to be better than Optima's.

Any feedback on Vinca is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi, I need some advice on which are the good trading platforms for trading UK and European shares.

What's important for me is low transactions fees, better if there are no monthly charges - I don't trade every day, estimated up to 5 to 10 transactions every 3 months to adjust my portfolio.

Of course ease of use/access is important for portfolio management. It will be good if they provide access to research reports like Moody's, S&P etc.

P.S. I am currently using Maybank Investment Bank trading platform for US shares but their rates and fees for UK shares are crazy.

Thanks for your feedback / advice.

Canon S100 "Lens Error"

Folks, need some advice here. I have an Canon S100 camera and have been using it for close to 2 years. Last week when I power on the camera, it gave me an error message :

Lens Error
Will shutdown automatically
Restart camera

I sent it to KLCC Canon center and they quoted whopping RM600 to repair it ! And I bought the camera for RM1,000. When I told the person that I am shocked at such a repair price and not willing to pay that much, the person then recommended me to buy the newer S200 model !

Anyway I'd appreciate some advice on how else I can salvage the camera without having to pay a hefty sum.

And no I did not dropped it or knocked it against something.
