Strap Pin Coming Off

Hi guys,

The strap pin on my strat comes off sometimes. I feel that it is getting 'looser' as time passes and the hole starts to look a little bigger.
Nowadays before I play I will tighten the screw (it gets loose by itself). Any advice on how to fix this ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,

I am planning to upgrade an old Squire and I am looking for some stuff, could someone advice me on where I can buy these stuff:

HH pick guard, pots and good quality tuners

I went to some small music stores and they didn't have it. Should I go to a big store like Bentley or are they any shops that specialize in things like this ?
SSS to HSH

I was wondering if this will work:

I want to convert a Squier SSS to HSH as a project.

I want the pickup selector to work like this:

5 pos pickup selector (push/pull not engaged):

Pos1 (neck): Neck Humbucker (HB)
Pos2: Neck HB + Mid Single Coil
Pos3 (mid): Neck HB + Bridge HB
Pos4: Mid Single Coil + Bridge HB
Pos 5: Bridge HB

Now I wanted to add in a push/pull pot so that I can split all 3 coils so that it works like an SSS so that the pickup selector will then give me this:

5 pos pickup selector with push/pull engaged:

Pos1 (neck): Neck Split
Pos2: Neck Split + Mid Single Coil
Pos3 (mid): Mid Single Coil
Pos4: Mid Single Coil + Bridge Split
Pos 5: Bridge Split

1) What do you guys think ? Workable idea ?
2) Would I need anything special like a 5 way 'super switch' ?
3) What pot value should I use ? I was thinking 500
4) Any better suggestion ?

WTA: Suitable for Project Guitar ?

Hi guys,

I have an old Behringer guitar that came together with the V-tone starter pack. It wasn't a great guitar but it was good for someone learning the guitar. I learned to play and do adjustments to the guitar such as intonation and truss rod correction. Over the years, after all the adjustments I managed to make it sound decent (but the machine heads are really lousy so can't hold the tuning for long). I learnt a lot from it but now that I have a newer much better guitar, the Behringer just sits in a corner gathering dust.

My question here is this:

Is it worth it to turn the Behringer into a project guitar ?

I was thinking of changing the pups into SD Hotrails (for the fat tone) and machine heads but I am not sure if it is worth it to do so since I have no idea what wood was used in the construction of the guitar. I don't want to spend money to upgrade something that at the end of the day isn't really going to sound good. I might as well just save up a little bit more and get an Epiphone or something. Alternatively, I guess I can get one of those guitar shells that people sell to be used as a project guitar.

What do the sifus think ? Is the wood important ? Does anyone even know what wood Behringer V-tone (GM108) guitar uses ?

Thanks in advance for your advice on this. Rock on !
Good live rock band ?

Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a good pub that has a good live band somewhere in KL ?
Prefer to listen to a band that plays 70s-80s rock. Would love to hear Rolling Stones, ACDC, Deep Purple, etc.

It will be good if you can sort of judge the 'crowdedness' of the place since I am looking for a place that isnt packed to the brim. New and upcoming bands are okay with me.

Thanks guys !
Fender Mustang I 20W Amplifier

Hi guys,

I am planning to buy a Fender MIM-Standard Strat and amp beginning next year. Doing research and budget estimations now.

I am thinking of getting a Fender Mustang I 20W amp, wondering if anyone has any experience using this ? Online reviews seems pretty good but wanted to hear from the gods of LYN Guitarist forum. I would also be interested to hear opinions comparing the Mustang with Fender's Frontman amp cause that is my second choice.

I know there are a few legendary posters here that sells guitars .. wondering if there is anyone here that can source for the amp and guitar for me ? (perhaps Deadeye ?)

Thanks

Soundbar through TV, loss of fidelity ?

Hi,

Would like your learned advice on this,

I have a LED TV with a PS3 and an Xbox360 connected to it through HDMI. I use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player and to improve the sound I was thinking of getting a Soundbar and connecting it to the LED TV.

My LED TV (Panasonic) only had optical out so I was planning to get a so-so Soundbar and plug it into the TV using the optical cable.

I was wondering if there will be any loss of sound fidelity if i plug it into the TV or should I directly plug the Soundbar to my PS3 via optical cable.

I would prefer to just plug it into the TV so that both the PS3 and the Xbox can share the same Soundbox but if there is an issue with sound fidelity then I may have to get a soundbar that supports different inputs (optical for PS3 and AV component for Xbox). Thanks a lot for your help in advance !
Getting new PS3. Recommended game ?

Hi guys,

I am getting a PS3 soon. Can you please recommend a good starting game that can be played online ?
I intend to get more later but just want something to test the connection speed and latency when I play online.

I am currently leaning towards getting GT5 or COD4 . If I do, should I worry about the region (R1, R2, R3) ?

Thanks

p.s: First post, sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum. Thanks.
