Blackberry Protect is a free apps from RIM. It helps you to auto backup your data over the air, track your Blackberry (of course it need to meet some conditions), remote backup, lock or even wipe your microSD card data.

Download Blackberry Protect from your Apps World and complete the simple wizard to activate the service. It provide flexible setting to meet difference requirements. Such as backup when connect to Wifi (save your data quota), backup frequency daily/weekly/monthly, data to backup (SMS, contacts, calendars and etc…)

After activated Blackberry Protect, you can login to http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/protect/ to check the service status. Hints: Try some of the features like remote send message and activate alarm to your Blackberry.

For Blackberry Protect details you can refer here http://bberrymania.blogspot.com/2011/04/bl...ry-protect.html

Media Storage Setting
Make sure your video and photo is saved into your Media Card instead of On Device.

Why store On Media Card?
-	Blackberry has limited usable storage. It will affect your Blackberry performance when device memory is low.
-	Your records still secure even the device software is corrupted.

How to check the storage setting:
-	Activate your camera, press menu button – select Options
-	Locate Store Pictures, make sure it is selecting On Media Card

*** Repeat the same method to check video camera setting ***

Above steps are the most fundamental security hints for general Blackberry users At least you will not headache if you lost your Blackberry

Enjoy…
