replacing mobo

guys i wana replace my mobo for my laptop..but i dono is it can be done..cuz some say for laptop it's "leceh" to change..im using compaq presario wit AMD..rite now my laptop wont start n im starting to guess that my mobo could be the prob..any advice?

hi sifu's..my compaq presario cannot turn on. at power port its only blinkin when i insert power cable. went to a pc shop n he said might be my power jack inside laptop be the problem. how much wil it cost to replace it? but sum of my fren said it might be the power supply board could be the prob..wana know sumtin,if my power jack got prob,i should be able to power up by using battery rite? correct me if im wrong as im still new to pc world.. anyone experienced this prob before? pls i need help here...thanx guys..
