Saw a Telemarketing part time job on Facebook that pay by hourly rate. I applied and then this employer called me and told me that the client only need me from 30 July to 8 August. I agreed to work on that period since I am unemployed lately. She then sent me some PDF file that I need to fill in and sign.

Then I noticed this Kelly Services form where it states
“Should I accept permanent employment with any client of Kelly services, and leave within 3 months of the date of selection. I agree to pay Kelly Services 50% of my confirmed monthly salary. ``

I need to fill in and sign those form and email back to her latest by 29 July. But I don't understand that term. Is it safe to sign if I plan to work part time that pays by hourly rate from 30 July to 8 August?

Resignation notice question

Let's say my first day of working in this new company is 1st August and it pays salary on last day of every month.

And if the resignation notice is 2 weeks and I submitted my resignation letter today (16th August). That's mean I will work until last day of August and then I can leave, and get paid for that 1 full month.

Am I right?

25 years old. Recently graduated with an accounting degree. Applied for a part time position as a service crew in a newly opened restaurant in one of the famous shopping malls in KL(opened for less than a month and need to line up for around 1 hour plus).

The reason I applied for part time is that I might be starting to work in Japan(I speak Japanese) in few months time (earliest this Sept). I also have experience in F&B as a hall staff part timer for a year plus working in a fine dining Japanese restaurant in KL. The pay was RM15 per hour. So I applied for this job and during interview I listed down my expected salary as RM15 per hour(since I have been getting RM15 in my old restaurant, I am not going to accept anything lower than 15).

Then the manager(quite young, around 25 yo woman) saw and said they only pay RM9 per hour for part timers. Then she said that she will discuss with shareholders since I have experience and degree then let me know whether I am hired or not. So few days after interview, I got added into their restaurant WhatsApp group chat. So I thought that I was hired and they must be willing to pay RM15 per hour for me. I pm the manager on WhatsApp and asked what's my hourly wage then. She replied that she would let me know face to face on my first working day. One day before my first working she uploaded a schedule with me being listed as full timer. And I work for 7 days a week! Time is 10am to 7pm everyday.

So on my first working day in the restaurant, I asked her about the salary and she said that she wants me to become full timer cuz they only pay part timer for RM9. And for full timer the base salary is RM1,500 but got commision depends on how much they sell. I refused to take this position as I thought that is low enough for me. She said that for part-time salary will need to discuss with shareholders. She said the shareholders are busy at the moment cuz one of them is in Taiwan. There are 3 shareholders for this restaurant. Since then I don't care much and I continued to work first cuz already got a lot of customers. We didn't have enough staff in there and even 2 shareholders came and help to serve customers. At that point I had no chance to ask the shareholders since it was busy and it is not appropriate to ask at that time I think. I would just prove to them that I am working and doing my job.

At 7pm it had been a tiring day for me. I told the manager that it is time to go back since it is 7pm now. She said I follow schedule? I said yeah. She asked me to work longer cuz they don't have enough staff. I said that I don't even know my salary yet, and you all didn't even ask me to sign contract or ask for my IC. What if I have work for 2 or 3 weeks then only I realised that my pay is Rm9 per hour (as a part timer) or RM1500 basic (full timer) then I am not going to work. She said that the shareholders are busy and they will contact me once they are free. I told her that I am stupid if I continue working because you do not have enough staff. I will not go for work in there until I talk directly with the shareholders about my salary.

So now I am thinking if any of you have worked without even knowing your actual salary yet? Or even not signing any form or not even being asked to photostat IC kind of thing. I feel like I am being exploited because they don't have enough staff so they want me to work quickly. I am not sure if I can even get back the salary for my first day. They didn't even give me the card yet. It is all verbal confirmation. I worked on 30th June. And she removed me from the WhatsApp group last night.

What can I do about this? I just wanna know if it is normal to start working without even signing anything and even salary is not known yet? Is there any chance I can get back my first day salary? It is not like it is a huge amount but I need to get back the money for the first day, and even if they don't pay what can I do?

Question about taking leave

I am a fresh grad and looking to get into corporate job soon this month. My question is, is it okay to ask for leave for 2 different days in this month? What I heard is that it is not good to ask for leave when you are newly hired since it will leave a bad impression to your employer. The reasons I ask for leave is that I have 2 seperate freelance translation jobs that pay a lot more per day than the current one. I don't mind if I can't apply for annual leave, unpaid leave is fine too as long as I can take leave for those 2 days.

Is it better to ask for leave during interview? Or once hired and the date is near then only I ask for leave? Anyway, my corporate job interview is gonna start in few days and once hired I might start to work instantly.

Should I include D.O.B and picture in resume?

As per title, should I attach my picture or D.O.B in my resume? I have always thought that it is necessary to include those two until I googled and found out that they don't do it as employers might be bias or having ageism. I am quite old compared to most fresh grads.

And also during interview should I bring my degree transcript?

I am a guy. Once you get a girl's number, what do you do? Do you ask her out for a date instantly? Or do you prefer to text her for sometime and get to know her a bit and then ask her out? Or u call her instantly for a date?

What do girls think of this? Do you prefer the guy to ask you out or do you want him to text/call you for sometime first before agreeing to meet up?

Someone sent me more money and asks for refund

If someone in US accidentally send me more money(USD $1200) than the actual amount(USD$600)and he asks for refund part of it. If I don't return it, can he do anything against me?

He emailed me : A double payment totalling USD$1200 went out today to your account and the US bank is recalling it, please ask your bank to send it back upon request by the US bank and I will send the correct amount by return.

I was actually providing translation service for him. It should be $600 only and not $1200 and he sent me twice.

Should I refund the other $600 back?

Edited : So at 12pm now I checked my account and I did really receive the money.

If I do not return the $600 to him, will he somehow track me or maybe take any action against me?

is it safe to buy Note 3 from mobile shop?

I would like to know if the Note 3 i see from mobile shop is original like those in official Samsung outlet? Samsung sells it for RM2399 and they sell it for RM2099 only. And i see that the 1 in Samsung outlet doesn't have '4G' label on the back of the cover, but in the mobile shop i see it does show '4G' on the back of the cover. Just wondering if it is ori?

I went to an education fair few weeks ago in KLCC and then i bump into one of the uni there and ask the lecture (he has Master in Marketing) about Business Admin course. The lecture told me that Business Admin course is only for girls to study one, cuz their job is like cleaning the room or sometimes go out to meet people only. Guys don't choose this cours and choose any other business courses like accounting, investment etc.. will do. I want to know is what he said is really true?

Just finished my SPM and would like to study accounting. I never took accounting in SPM. Just found out that this CAT you only need to study 1 year then can take ACCA. But in other colleges, you need to study diploma (2 year +) and bachelor (3 year) only can take ACCA exam. so i want to know what is the passing rate for student to pass ACCA going from CAT route since they just study for 1 year only then can take ACCA. And for a student like me who doesn't take accounting in SPM. What do u suggest?
