Re: the message sent out regarding the outage; does maxis have an update and ETA to resolve regarding the issue?

Issue started ~12am GMT+8 Aug 27. Reported 9.50am GMT+8 Aug 27.
Time of current issue still unresolved at time of writing is 17+ hours.

EDIT: Issue seems to be resolved at 7.20pm GMT+8, with a total down time of approx 19+hours.

Hi all just a quick check,

Maxis Broadband/Fiber users: Is Cloudflare's primary DNS resolver (1.1.1.1) working for you; are you able to access the https page on 1.1.1.1?

Other ISP users: you can also chime in tell us if its up on your end or not 1.1.1.1's primary dns and the https page on 1.1.1.1

Hey folks,

Anyone else having the issue: Cloudflare DNS services on its primary ip address 1.1.1.1 is inaccessible. But their backup/secondary 1.0.0.1 is accessible

#1: https://1.1.1.1 is inaccessible

#2: Regular DNS lookup requests to 1.1.1.1 fails

#3: Encrypted DNS over TLS to 1.1.1.1 fails (what the heck is dns over tls?)

Note that, pinging 1.1.1.1 works fine, 1.1.1.1 is responding. Traceroute looks fine.

1.1.1.1 appears to be accessible from other ISPs. I tested DiGi was accessible. The issue has been persisting since sometime last week. Called fault reporting @ maxis helpdesk at 123 but the support staff could not understand the problem (He tried change my maxis router's dns to google dns in an attempt to fix the problem) and did not assign a case id; and asked that I email custermersupport@maxis.com.my instead to resolve my issue. Emailed them on 15th Oct 2019, today is the 17th 24 hours no response what so ever; no acknowledgement of receiving my email.

Cloudflare is a major content delivery network (CDN) their servers don't usually go down for such an extended period of time. Is this: ignorance, incompetence or worse: shenanigans on Maxis's part?

[SATA/AHCI/Vista] Hard disk to disappear or not to

Okay, my situation is a want to enable AHCI, coz i want to use eSATA. Once AHCI is enabled everything works fine except that one particular internal SATA drive will disappear.

My setup is as follows:
Gigabyte GA-P53-DS3-V1.0
Seagate S3250620AS (2 units, both paired in RAID-0)
Maxtor 6V080E0 (the disappearing drive)
Western Digital WD10000H1Q-00 (the ext SATA)

Without AHCI of course both drives works fine except i lose the hot swap capability of the ext drive.

ANy ideas to the the disappearing drive seen when ahci is enabled

AHCI drivers enabled on vista (not required actually coz my boot drive is the RAID-0)
BIOS updated to the latest version

General question: Are RAID disk created across diff hard ware RAID controller universally compatible across all hardware raid controllers?

Situation: I have a 500B RAID-0 setup paired with my mobo's raid controler.. For some unavoidable circumstances, i might have to change my motherboard. I i get another mboard (with onboard raid of course) what are the chances of my existing disks to play nice with my data on da raid?

Miss the old days of ATA drives plugging into one system and another and it would just work...

[Analog 3.5mm Stereo Jack: Noise]

Scenario: 3.5mm stereo jacks to a RCA out onto huge speakers like HiFi, or PA system

If i go above a certain volume threshold i could hear a very noticeable background/interference noise

How do i eliminate this noise? b'cause i would want to use a larger volume in that threshold.

Are there any special cables say shielded cables that could help?

Personaly i would love to go with a Drobo but it isn't available in Malaysia AFAIK.

ID3 Audio Tagging

Was wandering if any use any id3 auto tagging tools and or auto lyrics adding something like PearLyrics. I came a cross a few but couldn't remember any. Its certainly easer to auto tag a massive library of songs than search for it manually.

(windows/mac | mp3, m4a, m4b mpeg4-aac)
