fz7, fz8, or S3?

hi,

im new to photography (have never ever owned a camera ever) but i'd really like to pick it up. and honestly, i really dont mind reading all those technical articles on photography, so i would like to know what's a good model to get now (before i eventually have enough money and skill to own a dslr).

im looking at superzoom cameras, and i guess for me priorities are for image stabilizer (which is why i didnt consider fuji), and the ability to "play around" with controls and add accessories like telephoto lenses and all. and personally, i like those macro shots i see.

im considering the lumix fz7 because of its low price according to http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/454120 this thread.

but how does it compare with the fz8? is the fz8 worth the extra 300? and if so, how would the fz8 compare with the canon s3? i know there's a new s5, but i should try to keep my budget within limits.

i've read the reviews on dpreview and some other sites, and also basic photography knowledge like f stops, exposures, and all that... but i still cant really decide. i guess the good thing about the fz8 is it supports RAW, while the s3 has stereo audio for video recording and it seems it has a better macro mode than the panasonics.

so yea, i would appreciate recommendations and opinions, even suggestions for other models within the price range. and again, im really enthusiastic about learning photography so having more manual settings is a good thing (if it's a valid consideration).

thanks in advance for all comments and recommendations. i really do appreciate it. =)

advise needed: sender id not displayed

i just bought a nokia 2600, the problem is messages that i received do not have the sender's name displayed.. in the outbox, only messages that i sent out using the phonebook function will have the name displayed, those where i received a message and simply pressed reply, no name also, just the number.. i think this is something to do with the settings? i have tried copying my contacts from sim to phone and back again, also tried using sim memory and then phone memory, nothing works..can someone please tell me how to fix this? thanks alot.. actually i feel bad starting a topic just for trivial stuff like this, but i really dont feel like sending it back to the dealer, a bit far.. so i hope i can solve this by asking around..
