Short version: 25 yo, worked for 1.5 year with RM3.5k/month pre deduction. Took out matured FD of RM15k and decided not to continue due to low interest rate. Have around RM 14k in savings.

I have looked thru this subforum on investment options for days now but at the end I'm not to sure where to even start anymore.
Some of the options I've considered:

- Stashaway
- FSM
- myTHEO
- DIY Investing ETF thru brokers
- ??

Which of these options are advisable for newcomers to start with?
Is it advisable for starters to jump straight into ETFs if they know what they're going into? And is investing thru SG the only viable option?
IDK so many questions I wanted to ask but felt this is a waste of time for others i think.

As you're reading this post, I was originally a student in the Bachelor of Business (Hons) Marketing programme in Taylor's University but I have withdrawn from the programme due to bad result, which caused my parents a lot of trouble (and feeling guilty of myself)

So during that time, I realize that my passion for gaming would've put myself in game development. So I went and search for any university that provides game development programme, and I narrowed it down to KDU (Thanks to lowyat forum which also has the same topic). Thus I went to KDU to consult their programme director Julian, who oddly ask me which games I've played, how I play them etc . He also guide me through which of those specialization teaches and recommends me to specialize in game technology, which differs from game design (The one I wanted ).

But I still have some questions:

1. Game design and game technology, which one is better in terms of employment?
2. Does people study in game technology also involve themselves in the field of game design?
3. Which country to work at this field after graduate? (I was thinking overseas but I think locally first then overseas)
4. Kind of related, do we need a gaming spec computer for game development study?

As of now, It is one week away from its Open Day and I want to quickly make a decision before I regretted it again.

Unexplained Circuit Fire/Explosion

Hi I'm facing a mystery here but I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it.

So last Monday I woke up to have a shower only to realize that the shower heater cannot be used because the circuit head got on fire or an explosion that the circuit head melted and welded to the electrical socket. The only people in the bathroom is my two younger brother who were half awake and didn't realize what happened. Of course during the blame game, my father removed the socket from the main supply and had it replaced and so far no problem at all.

PLKN and Uni

Last year I was selected for PLKN batch 10/2013 and coz i was in senior 3 or form 6 that time so i apply for postpone to plkn. Moving forward, I just received a letter from JLKN which was actually a certificate of postponing and a yellow paper saying that i can either continue postpone or reenter the PLKN but 1 MONTH before the expiration of the postpone certificate which expire last month.

Plus I was looking to apply at Taylor's University for the Business Degree program which only starts at late march. So my question is since I miss the timeline to further postpone NS, is it possible if i can still apply to postpone the NS or just ignore, like many ppl here trying to skip the NS??

P/S: One of my cousin who was a year older than me ignore the NPP from JLKN and is still continuing her studies in Sunway's ACCA program.

Bias Car Owner Opinion

Looks like most ppl on this subforum are much concerned on FC and RV(?) and worse thinks that Toyota, Honda, Ford, VW best in Malaysia. Don't u guys agree that it is too biased and they even didn't give a breathing space for other brands like Peugeot, Hyundai, Mazda etc.??

But that doesn't meant I am biased. My parents once drove the kancil, CRV, Cambry, Altis, Latio, Harrier and 208 (coming soon) and we know which is better for a family of five and myself (driving Latio).

So, do u guys think it's becoming too common for those bias owner to affect new car owner to-be's decisions??

B-Segment supermini opinions

While I was shopping in 1 Utama with my family we stumble across the Peugeot 208 launch event and of course we go and take a look. The 208 looks unique on the outside and sporty on the inside especially with the touchscreen display. It wasn't until last Sunday we went to the dealer nearby Bukit Tinggi and my dad took a test drive (I am still holding my P license lol) it feels smooth and the steering wheel due to its size feels awkwardly easy to control.

After the test drive I googled some reviews and comparison and it appears that the Ford Fiesta (which i heard the company manage by Japanese, do clarify if incorrect) was the best B-segment car in UK but the fiesta here was too pricey (our budget was rm 100k< if could) and we didn't have a test drive with it yet.

Which is why I here asking driver sifu which car suitable for a soon-to-be university student (obviously I'm form 6/senior 3)?
