it was my mistake to assume air-cond service and installation are quite straight forward works but it turned out to be a nightmare.

pls kindly recommend good and air-cond contractors to me as i wanna fix the problem ASAP. The problem include to fix the "gaps" between the air-conds and the walls, to remove something that stuck in one of the air-conds. thanks.

[WTA] Air-Cond Service

Hi, need help/advise here.

Got an air-cond contractor to service my aircond and was told that on top of the service charge, it is advisable to weld "copper fitting" at the back to ensure the air-cond can fit nicely to the wall. for the welding, RM60 per air-cond.

What is this for? Is this necessary? is the price reasonable? thanks.
all advice are welcomed and thanks in adv.

thinking of using marble look ceramic tiles (the real marble too expensive ) for bathroom walls and floor (2 hv hotel feel) but find that it wud be too slippery to use these tiles for floor. instead was suggested to use normal ceramic tiles for floor which i think do not match with the marble-like wall?? anyone has suggestion or maybe can share your experience/ bathroom designs?

Hi, am asking on behalf, but to save time typing, just put this as my condo.

After checking with a few contractors (main con), the quotations received are all well above budget. Now considering breaking down the major works and engage different contractors. But due to very limited experience, would appreciate it if taikos here could give advise/share experience, our sincere thanks.

Works involved:

1) hacking and retiling, plumbing for the whole house;
2) wiring
3) plaster ceiling
4) painting
5) grille
6) carpentry works.
7) air-cond servicing

Planning to engage 1) one contractor for plaster ceiling cum wiring; 2) one contractor for hacking, retiling, plumbing, all wet works; 3) painting; 4) grille; 5) capentry works; 6) air-cond servicing

Planned sequence (pls advise)

1) air-cond servicing (to get the technician to bring home the air-conds for servicing)
2) plaster ceiling and wiring

Question:
a) is concealing wires for aircond switches to be done by wiring man or air-cond servicer?
b)How about relocation, installation and piping for the air-cond (by air-cond servicer right?)?
c) how about plastering of hacked wall for wiring, is this to be done by wiring contractor?

3) Hacking, retiling, plumbing, all wet works.

Question:
a) do tiling contractor needs to communicate with wiring man?
b) can tiling and wiring, plaster ceiling works start together?

4) after wiring, plaster ceiling, and all wet works done. Painting works start and capenter to come and take measurements.

Question:
a) who is responsible for the painting of the plaster ceiling, painting contractor or plaster ceiling contractor?

5) After painting works done, to have wiring man to install switches/lights/fans/ water heaters and aircond contractor to install air-cond.

Question:
a) for built-in electrical items (hob, hood), who to help the installation? tiling contractor (for concrete table top)? or wiring contractor?

6) Grille work. Is painting of grille down by grille contractor or my painting contractor?

7) Capentry work as well as wall paper work start.

anything that we left out? is the sequence right? are there areas (co-ordination) that need to pay attention to?

all advises/ experiences sharing are welcomed. thanks.
