hi

1. I seem to have stopped receiving email notifications. Last notification I received was at 00:17 last night. My forum & topic subscription lists seem to be intact. Notifications are not in my junk folder either. Please help

2. I can't seem to subscribe to a thread that I started, no matter how many times I have tried over the last few months. It won't appear on my topic subscription list. I just tried subscribing to the topic again and all seemed to go well, but still does not appear in my subscription list. LINK TO TOPIC

Using 3 Monitors on 1 CPU

Hi all. Anyone out there using 3 monitors connected to 1 CPU? Please share your setup if you are and how it's done.

I have a buddy who needs a setup like this. I am thinking of using following setup for him:

1. Mobo with built-in graphics and PCIE slot
2. PCIE graphic card supporting dual monitors

The plan is to get a mobo with built-in nvidia graphics + an nvidia pcie graphic card (or both ATI based, doesn't matter) and 1 monitor to the built in GPU and the other 2 to the pcie graphic card. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have seen setups with a 1 pcie graphic card running 2 monitors + 1 pci graphic card running 1 monitor for a 3 monitor setup, so I know this works. Am wondering if the same thing is possible with a GPU built into the mobo + 1 pcie graphic card.

Thanx in advance all

The connection can be on for upto 10mins or longer, no problem .....

However, the PC freezes the moment internet access is attempted. This can happen in many ways;
1. turning on IE, then click on homepage --- PC freezes
2. turning on limewire, click connect ----- PC freezes
3. pc-cillin online update, connecting to server, checking for updates ----- PC freezes
4. outlook express, check mail, 'connecting to pop.streamyx.com' -------- PC freezes

freeze = system just stops responding and needs to be restarted (no BSOD or error messages)
Tired different ethernet cable & reinstalled network driver, no luck.

It appears that the moment the data starts to flow, the PC freezes. At first, thought that pc-cillin was the problem, but # 1, 2 & 4 still happens when pc-cillin is turned off. Any ideas, anyone?

[addedon]August 21, 2007, 11:11 pm[/addedon]no ideas anyone? is there somewhere else in the forum this would be more suitable? thanx.

Casing Advice

Was hoping i could get a couple of recommendations from my fellow hardware addicts;

M currently using a CoolerMaster Centurion 5, with 4 HDDs. The problem i've run in2 is that, since adding a 7800GTX (woohoo!!), due to the lenght of the card, it doesn't leave ample space for cabling for all my HDDs. (not enough that i'm happy with anyway, even though all my psu cables are sleeved) Am very happy with the Centurion 5 as airflow is EXCELLENT thru the front bezel, with it's metal mesh and sponge filter. My AMD s939 3200+ venice temp is 29c w/out load (stock hsf, 24hr aircon room) and very little dust gets in.

So, i was wondering if i cld get a few recommendations from you guys for a larger, decent quality casing with good airflow & dust filtering? Something that's suitable for mounting HDDs in front of LONG graphic cards?

needs to fit:
ATX mobo, of course
7800gtx pcie
4 HDDs with the option to add 1 or 2 more preferably
3 cd/dvd burners
prefer transparent side & no side blow-hole

I give my thanx in advance to all those who help me out.

[WTComplaint] hahagitugitu DISHONEST TRADER

ORIGINAL THREAD: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=323215

Item: x800 128mb pcie graphic card
Amount: RM140 + my x550 256mb pcie graphic card

Summary:
Trader looking to trade his GC for lower end card. I first approached hahagitugitu with my x550 GC and asked that hahagitugitu propose a trade, my x550 + rm$$ top up for hahagitugitu's x800. (please see original thread)

First reply I got from hahagitugitu was my x550 + rm100 for his x800.

When I agreed to this, hahagitugitu wrote me back after awhile, saying that he/she had another offer from elsewhere for an x550 + rm140, and that if I wanted hahagitugitu's x800 I wld need to bid rm150 + my x550.

I protested, saying that I did not bid and was merely agreeing to the proposal that came from him/her! However, for the sake of convenience, as our locations are pretty close, I told hahagitugitu I would match the offer of an x550 + rm140.

hahagitugitu agreed to this at about 8.15pm last night and we made arrangements to meet up this morning to complete transaction.

I received an sms overnight (about 1.45am according to my phone) from hahagitugitu informing me that if my x550 didn't have ddr2 ram, he wasn't going to honor the agreement we made.

I think this is unfair as I never misled him about my cards specifications. I gave him the manufacturers link to my card with all the specs before we had an agreement.

I sadly informed hahagitugitu that I would have to post this incident on LowYat.net's Trade Zone Dispute Resolution Center.

For forum user hahagitugitu :
Please honor the agreement you made!

(all messages from hahagitugitu to me regarding the agreement can be forwarded upon request)
