Hi, guys,

I've (apparently) been offered for the Rumah Selangorku. But I can't seems to figure what's the next step. It's been months and there's no letter, email or anything. There's no further action can be taken on the online portal also. I, being new at this, am blur and not sure what to do. Should I just wait? Or give them (who?) a call?

SMART TAG Alternative?

I got my smart tag free from Perodua. In less than 1 year, the screen was already wonky can't even read a single word. And now in less than 2 year, it has completely broke down. I thought it was just no battery, I changed the battery oso didn't work anymore.

While my parents' smart tags (the bulky one) that're already more than 10 years, still working fine as hell, even the screen.

This is bullshit. The new one is so freaking shitty that I'm so reluctant to buy a new one. When it's working, it's convenient as hell. If only there's alternative to this shit. Do u guys have any idea on what to do? Basically I want to use smart tag, but not buying the shitty one that will break down in less than a year.

3G speed in Malaysia, was it worth it?

I'm about to be a new smartphone user, and I was thinking,-

1. Was it worth it to subscribe to data plan here in Malaysia??
2. Does the speed reasonable??
3. What about the coverage??
4. Which was the best telco on data/3G + call rate.. Both prepaid n postpaid, in your opinion??
5. Is there a package which would give unlimited data??

p/s: Don't get me wrong, I've done some research, but they're all very confusing, especially on their official site..

Mapping System in Malaysia

Is there any Mapping System company in Malaysia that uses purely their own maps??
I mean mostly, the company I found, they uses third party such as google maps, esri, bing, etc..

I don't want that. I want a company where they own the maps itself, so that my data can stay secure and most importantly, in our sight (locally stored)..

Hey all..

I've recently developed a web application for this state government agency.. Ministry of ______ Kedah..
We've met and discussed and they agreed to proceed..

They want me to implement it to ______.gov.my..

This is kind of my first client..
So, I've got a couple of questions..

CODE

1. Should I register the domain+hosting myself?? or let their IT department do it..

a) If I'm the one who should register it, I've planned to go with serverfreak(domain+hosting)..

- Should I invoice them annually?? for hosting+domain.. is that standard procedure??
- What should I request from the gov agency to be able to register the domain??

b) If they are the one who should register,

- Should I ask for credentials to upload/set up the apps??

2. What is MYNIC handle?? I noticed this when I tried to register gov.my domain..

3. What is the standard procedure for this kind of job?? especially domain and hosting..

Please help me.. I'm very2 noob..

I've came across some way to send mail using PHP.. such as PHPMailer, using PEAR, native php mail, customs script, etc..
But what's the best and practical way on u guys opinion??
I planned to use google's smtp that i owned.. so maybe it should have smtp auth??
I need to use it on my latest project..

Streamyx 24 Mb?

I've recently applied for new streamyx account for my new home.. wooohooo..

I've had enough with P1.. Very x stabil.. Like feng shui plak, have to put there or there for a "good" signal.. (good, not best)..

So, back to the topic,

The technician for setting up the streamyx came.. blah2..

while he is setting up the connection,

he offered,

"do you want more speed for the same price??"

who will say no to that, so we said yes..

he said that he can get up to 24Mb for us.. instead of only 4Mb..

So just wanna ask, is that even possible?? with the highest speed for Unifi are just 20Mb..

I'm new as a freelance web developer.
Just want to know that how much should I charge my client for my services based on this :

1. Develop PHP programs
2. Develop PHP programs + design(CSS,JQuery,blah2)
3. Design Only.

What is the price range should I charge my client?? based on your exp??

I kinda fresh.. But I'm good at PHP since people keep wanting to hire me.. But there come the problem.. I don't know how to quote the price..

Let's say for an amateur (<1 year exp), how much would it be??
Other than that, how much??

When I tested it, nothing happen, form works well. I also done my own error testing by echoing in some places.
But it seems to just stuck at the db.
I've done user registration before and works fine. But i used simple sql without objects.
Sumone help me pleeeez..
