Best Ministry so far is Nga's Local Govt Development, says Wong

SHAH ALAM - Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Wong Kah Who says Local Government Development Ministry was the best performing ministry under the Unity Government so far.

Wong praised minister Nga Kor Ming stating that the latter had vowed to focus on cleaner public washrooms, well maintained roads, ensure functioning streetlights and drains clear of any blockages.

“These are amenities that people want.

“We can’t be expecting the minister to check every road or streetlights. The minister has decided on the direction of the policy. Next would be the implementation by the local government,’’ he said.

Wong, who is Taiping MP, said his fellow Perakian minister had even said that he did not mind to be referred as a “toilet minister”.

He added that if the washrooms were as clean as those in Japan or Singapore, people would see Malaysia in a different perspective.

KUALA LUMPUR: Farm Fresh Bhd (FFB) has entered into a share purchase agreement with the vendors of The Inside Scoop Sdn Bhd (TISSB) for the proposed acquisition of 462,739 existing ordinary shares in TISSB.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, FFB said the acquisition represented 53.0 per cent of the enlarged issued shares in TISSB after the completion of the proposals, for a total purchase consideration of about RM68.4 million, subject to adjustments.

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 7,097 new Covid-19 cases with the Klang Valley still contributing to most of the new infections.

Selangor saw 3,119 new Covid-19 cases, the second consecutive day where fresh infections were above 3,000 for the state.

Kuala Lumpur saw a four-digit increase with 1,005 fresh infections. It also recorded a four-digit increase yesterday.

Negeri Sembilan also witnessed a surge with 788 new cases, the highest in 19 days.

Pahang, which entered Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) on July 5, also regressed.

The state needed to maintain its new daily Covid-19 cases under 206 in order to qualify for Phase 2 but the seven-day average of new daily cases for the state has risen to 224.

Orlando Bloom Was Celibate For Six Months Before Dating Katy Perry

After the recent announcement of her pregnancy, Katy Perry's fella Orlando Bloom has revealed that he went celibate for six months before meeting her.

The British actor said he 'didn't even masturbate' for the half a year before he started seeing Katy, 35, after they met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016.

Orlando, 43, opened up in an interview with Sunday Times, where he admitted that in the period before meeting Katy, he had felt unhappy in general, when a friend suggested that he should try celibacy.

Bloom recalled his friend said: "If you want to be serious about a relationship, go celibate for a few months and figure it out."

He said that he believed it helped him to relate to women in a different way, saying he saw a different side to himself.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor said: "It takes away the idea of going to a party and thinking, 'Who am I going to meet?' I was suddenly like, 'Oh, I can have a relationship with a woman that is just friends'."

He admitted that it lasted longed than he first anticipated, having initially planned to stay celibate for three months, he added: "I was really enjoying the way I was relating to women, and to the feminine within myself. I know that sounds crazy."

He also gave his opinion on porn, saying it's 'super disruptive' to your sex life and libido, revealing that he 'didn't even' masturbate during the period of time.

"Completely nothing. It was insane," he continued.

"I don't think it's healthy. I don't think it was advisable. You have to keep it moving down there."

Katy Perry announced that she's pregnant with a video earlier this month.

In the 'Never Worn White' video, the singer can be seen holding her belly at the end - obviously the international sign for revealing a pregnancy.

After the video dropped on YouTube, Perry said it's the 'probably the longest secret' she's ever had to keep.

She added: "There's a lot that will be happening this summer, not only will I be giving birth - literally - but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for.

"We're excited and happy."
