Hi guys,

Curious on why a car at 200k can be sold at 40k. It is a 2019 continental car in seemingly good condition. They say it is sg car which owner change car so it is categorized as sg scrap car. Dealer say done puspakom, geran, insurance and roadtax can renew yourself, so saman, accident whatever no issue. I am just wondering how is this possible or is it even possible? The only catch is, cannot go in sg.

I know also a car that is 400k, can be sold at 200k, 2020 continental car btw, imported from overseas (not sg) . Same as above, puspakom, geran insurance, roadtax all legit no problem. Again different scenario but how is this possible?

Perodua Alza 2014 Advance vs Honda CRV 1st Gen?

Hi Car Lovers!

My mom couple days ago came up with a proposal to me, whether i want to stick to my 1st Gen Honda CRV 2litre (you know the classic Honda CRV ) OR a Perodua Alza Advanced Version 2014 (highest spec) which is currently being used by my grandmother with a mileage of only 7k (I know right....)

At first glance of course its a no brainer i guess to choose the Alza as it is practically new! and the CRV is abit dinosaur. HOWEVER, i have doubts on the Alza as i heard alot of complaints about it like noise, reverse brake whatever. Yes the CRV requires constant checks and maintenance however the issue and driving experience pretty steady.

So both has its Pros and Cons, i neeed your insights on which is the better choice based on car review and performances.

Need Opinions on Cars listed!

Hi fellow car enthusiasts and experts!

I have been using my 1st gen CRV which is with the family for about 12 years i think.

Long story short, my CRV is giving me...some problems. So i'm basically looking for a car New/Used, and my budget is 60k, if can 55k.

So i have listed myself a few options. Which are as follows;

1) Honda Civic 2008 1.8litre (Almost in love with the design of the car lol) (Around 53k onwards)
2) Proton Inspira/Mitsubishi Lancer (43k onwards/ 53k onwards)
3) Perodua Myvi new or 2010 at least for used (New 40k plus gua and used 2010 20k onwards)
4) Honda City 2010 (Looks like an autobot transformer that one) (42k onwards)
5) Nissan Latio Hatchback Sports 2009/2010 (NOT the Sedan) (40k onwards)

Why these cars? Because they're within my budget and after researching, i like these ones. cool2.gif

Why i added proton inspira/lancer? Cause its about the same range as Honda Civic 2008 and i just want to know update thoughts about it.

Why are there cars from B segment to C Segment? Cause i just want to widen my range.

Prices i surveyed are all according to my research in both Carlist.my and Mudah.my for KL or Klang Valley so to speak. (Cause i live in KL) thumbup.gif

I used my car (CRV 1st gen) for commuting to work. Weekdays about 30km to work and 30km back from work. Will experience the jam on bad days, and better traffic but slight jam on good days. Meet clients occasionally. So basically i drive alot but only for commuting for work related and perhaps holiday road trips, and the fuel consumption for my CRV and the maintenance is getting worse due to over usage probably. I do take fuel efficiency and maintenance cost into consideration.

It will be my first real commitment besides credit cards for me to take up, so i just need opinions from the great community of the forum. Hehe. notworthy.gif tongue.gif

Should i sell my ninja bike and go for a car?

Hey guys, so well let's start with this (its abit long but please bare with me), i persuaded my mom that i want a bike because it can avoid KL Jam and low FC. And so my mom bought into the idea and bought me a Kawasaki Ninja 250 just 5 months ago for about RM23k, paying mom RM500 every month from my salary.

But since then, i been using my 1st gen 15 years old Honda CRV to work and the bike been sitting in the garage, only using it for casual riding purpose in weekend. Why i didn't commute to work with the bike you ask? Well, this is my 5th month working in KL and i travel from Serdang (about 40 min to work if traffic smooth) and i seen how crazy the traffic of KL especially during peak hours and how chaos some drivers can be (that includes me). So i visualize myself being one of those bikers and i really can't imagine how dangerous it is to commute to work everyday through crazy KL jam that can last till 1 and half hours to work.

The Honda CRV that i have obviously have its problem. Although its secure and i feel like...a king of the road...BUT the fuel cost (full tank can go only 320km if i don't accelerate much) and maintenance is quite frequent. Just changed gearbox which cost about rm2500 and other repair cost comes quite often like 3 months once or something. FC and MC is my greatest concern tbh.

I love the feel of riding my Ninja and actually driving the CRV is great too (Sister gonna use the CRV when she's back from UK in a year time). Should i sell my Bike to pay down payment of a new car like Myvi etc or good 2nd hand car like Honda Civic, City, Almera or something like that or just stick to what i have and buy a car in a year time?

PS: Basic Salary around 2.7k after EPF and SOCSO.

These are what i want from the laptop:
- Able to run Microsoft office
- Budget: below 2k
- Not expecting a gaming laptop but just need a smooth and stable asus laptop that can run softwares smoothly including, photoshop, microsoft office, and other softwares except gaming.
- Its for my sister

Hey guys. Okay, i need help on the right choice on purchasing a gaming laptop with a budget of around 3k that can handle games like Crysis 2, Far cry 2, CoDMW2, Starcraft 2, at a medium settings cause just be able to play the game smoothly without high settings or graphics adjustments is enough for me. So i need recommendations by you guys on what is arguably the best buy now.

I have a few options in hand which are

-Asus A52JR

-Asus A42JA-VX061V

-Lenovo Y460

-Dell Inspiron N4010-46451G

-Aspire TimelineX 4820T

*The specs are too detailed to be listed so taking a couple of minutes googling it would be great.
*For the price, you can explain your point of how the price contrast with the specs given i.e the worthiness of the product.

Oh and i prefer going for ATI then Nvidia for laptops due to some very valid reasons but if your recommendations are with NVIDIA then its fine too.
