Silver Lining for PH Supporters

We all know that if PH had continued governing for full term, looking at the trajectory it was going there was big probability it would have lost GE15 due to the many issues it was facing and how many of its own supporters were also turned off by some of their idiotic decisions and policies.

Now with Bersatu/UMNO/PAS in power and with all indications that these people have not learned their lessons from their lost in GE14 and might possible continue to misuse power and their kleptocratic ways, maybe rakyat will be reminded again on why they kicked BN out in first place so that by GE15, people will turn back to PH.

What do you think?

This is of course if no miracle happened and a viable third party does not appear on the scene for next election.

Currently, there's one restaurant called Betel-Leaf Chettinad Restaurant in Leboh Ampang. Before this, either at same exact location or same row, there was a banana leaf restaurant that was already closed several years ago.

Does anybody know what was the name of that restaurant? It was quite famous as well I think. Tried google but no help.

Dr M: Why did the US downgrade M'sia's civil aviat

QUOTE

Dr M: Why did the US downgrade M'sia's civil aviation authority?

PONTIAN: Malaysia wants to know the reason behind the US Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) move to downgrade the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) from category one to two.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the government also wanted to know the effect from such a downgrade but was confident it could be overcome.

"If they say we are not good or so on, (how is it) then (that) our Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is among the 20 biggest airports in the world.

"We've even been trusted to run the Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISGIA) in Turkey where it is not small as 31 million people use it," he added.

Dr Mahathir, who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairman, said this during a press conference after having breakfast with some 200 people at Warung 800 in Pekan Nanas here on Thursday (Nov 14).

Also present at the event was his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali and other Bersatu leaders including president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

He added that there were offers by other countries inviting Malaysia to manage their airports.

Dr Mahathir also pointed out that local pilots were accepted by airline companies from Indonesia, China and Arab countries as Malaysians were known to be competent.

"Our people, when they worked overseas, are not working as servant at home. They are professionals such as pilots, engineers, architects and many others.

"Malaysians work as professionals where they are respected and their salaries are the same with European professionals," he said.

A previous report by Reuters stated that the downgrade, effective Nov 11, placed Malaysia in the same FAA category as Thailand, which was downgraded to category two in December 2015 and has since tried unsuccessfully to reclaim the top category one rating.

Other countries in category two included Bangladesh, Ghana and Costa Rica.

As a category two regulator, airlines licensed by CAAM will not be able to add new routes to and from the United States.

CAAM, in response to the downgrade, has vowed to regain its status as a category one regulator within 24 months.

Source: The Star

Some here might know I hate this guy, but is he really this ignorant to not know the difference between CAAM and MAHB which runs KLIA and most of our airports and also comparing CAAM downgrade and Malaysian pilots' competency?

So this is the great visionary and /k's choice for leader to lead us to Malaysia Baru?

Well his argument exactly like most of /k also so maybe not surprising.

Question regarding current MY gov composition

So I just came back holiday and just found out about the current hoohaa with regards to Perak's MB and it got me thinking.

The last result for the last general election is as per below

Party	Vote	Seats
Votes % Won %

PKR 2,046,394	16.94	47	21.17
DAP 2,098,068	18.92	42	18.92
PPBM 718,648 5.95 13	5.86
PAN 655,528 5.43 11	4.95
WARISAN 280,520 2.32 8	3.61

Source: Wikipedia (SPRM)

Current Cabinet is as per below:

Cabinet of Malaysia

So as we can see, PPBM only won less than 1/3 of seat compared to either PKR or DAP and even for actual number of votes slightly more than 1/3 of either of the latter and less than 100K more than PAN even.

But yet they've got 5 Cabinet Members, including the post of PM, Home Minister and Education Minister which are important portfolios. PKR only 1 extra at 6 and DAP got same number as 5.

Not only that but PPBM also got 3 Chief Ministers i.e. Kedah, Johor and Perak while PKR got 2 (Selangor and N9), Amanah 1 (Melaka) and DAP 1 (Penang).

May I know why they have so much positions in PH (and major positions) when their contribution to the alliance is not that big?

My friend and I were discussing statute of limitation in Malaysia. Basically he believes there are statute of limitation for crimes such as corruption while I don't think so and statute of limitation is only for civil dispute.

Anybody can confirm either of the above? If can, if possible, please also link the relevant statute/law on this.

Thank you.

Question about endgame

Hey I have one question. I noticed at the end during Tony's funeral where they set the flower with his old arc reactor on the lake everybody was there attending it except Gamora. What happened to her actually? Noticed she was also not in the spaceship later when the Guardians of the Galaxy + Thor was taking off. Did she actually get snapped (since Thanos and all his troops from the past get snapped maybe she also got included since Tony does not really know this version of her also turned good and maybe snapped everybody who came with Thanos from the past).

If I missed something please do inform.

Just read so sorry if slow. This news is really just as expected and not surprising at all. 'China cherish Malaysia's friendship' my ass...

QUOTE

KUALA LUMPUR: Fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, the alleged mastermind of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), is believed to be residing in China, reports Sin Chew Daily.

Quoting sources, the Chinese daily said Low, better known as Jho Low, had recently travelled between Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing and Hainan in China.

The daily reported on its front page that the Royal Malaysia Police has been working closely with China’s Public Security Bureau to locate Low, but surprisingly, China had yet to locate him.

As the high-profile trial of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in SRC International begins, the daily said Malaysian police would like to arrest him as soon as possible.

Besides Malaysia, Low is said to be wanted by Singapore and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Low is believed to possess a resident card in Hong Kong and owns a luxury residence there. His company in Central, Hong Kong is operating as usual.

According to the daily, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s visit to China could help to locate Low.

It is believed that Dr Mahathir will ask for China's assistance in locating Low when he attends the Belt and Road Summit in Beijing, which will be held on April 26 and April 27.

Source: The Star

ktard duped by Troll or Schizophrenic?

Since the TS deleted my post in his thread, I create this topic.

His story kept changing from one thread to another I suspect he's a troll and you all have been duped by him.

1. Previously he said this in his thread earlier this month where he confessed his wife is GRO and he don't mind:

Outing at pub turns into nightmare for couple

QUOTE(joeonline @ Oct 11 2018, 04:25 PM)

Oh yes...you are right...i also dont mind to allowed my wife to work as pelach as long as I do get some %

QUOTE(joeonline @ Oct 12 2018, 10:58 AM)

I am not old ah pek but I allowed her to work as GRO..we stay together and genuine husband wife relationship..GRO is just a profession..so what?

QUOTE(joeonline @ Oct 14 2018, 02:22 PM)

Totally agreed with you.

My wife is the best example as I allowed her to be working GRO.

2. Then he made this thread saying he's Singaporean PR with China Wife who is also a Singaporean PR and they are professionals. Even reported me when I quoted the above:

Settle down in Singapore or move back to Malaysia.

3. And now this thread where again his wife is GRO but he was not aware. Either a troll or schizophrenic.

Feeling Lost and Guilty...Need advise

School’s heritage-list hope blown

Very fishy je. Nobody report police yet it seems.

QUOTE

A 112-year-old school building in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, lost its heritage value when its timber roof was removed by contractors tasked with repairing it.

The old building was in a poor state and required maintenance and the Perak Public Works Department (JKR) was appointed to carry out the repairs.

However, during the construction, the original century-old roof structure went missing.

The original structure, timber trusses and beams, worth an estimated RM1mil, were removed by the contractors and have been unaccounted for since.

The contractors also did not install any roof protection, leaving the interior of the building exposed to rain and sunlight, further damaging the structure.

The damage has since been minimised with the installation of aluminium trusses to replace the exposed roof while repair works are still on going.

In July last year, a bargeboard fell from the front portion of the roof due to a thunderstorm, which resulted in the school being closed and the students moved to an adjacent building for safety reasons.

Following the incident, in May this year, JKR approved RM300,000 as the initial cost for the repair of the ceiling and floorboards.

Historical building

Built in 1906, the SMK Raja Perempuan Kelsom (SMKRPK) building is a historical structure as it exudes the Victorian revival style of classical architecture.

It was the residence of Sir Hugh Low, who served as the fourth British Resident of Perak.

SMK Raja Perempuan Kelsom alumnus Thaljit Kaur Dillon, who is an architect, said the works done by the contractor were an insult to heritage buildings.

“The timber roof was part of the century-old building and they should not have removed it.

“I was told the contractors said the building was not yet listed as a heritage building, which means they knew of the significance (of being listed in the heritage registry) and were aware that there was already an application made to register the building, yet they still chose to ignore it,” she said.

Thaljit, who is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) Heritage and Conservation Committee, explained that what was even more heartbreaking was that the school’s headmistress together with the alumni group had jointly submitted an application to nominate the school building to be listed in the National Heritage list.

“We wanted the timber roof restored. However, this is highly unlikely now because when we asked the contractors about the whereabouts of the roof structures and timber, they could not provide an answer as the sub-contractor they hired had already taken them away.

“Also, without proper roof protection, parts of the school’s interior were damaged and we were told that the contractors will not repair the damage even though they were responsible for it,’’ she added.

“We hope this incident will not affect the building’s nomination as a heritage site,” Thaljit said.

According to Thaljit, the move to nominate the school as a national heritage site was mooted on Nov 16, 2016 at an alumni meeting.

Subsequently, PAM’s Heritage and Conservation committee was informed about the building at the beginning of 2017 and a letter was sent to the school in March 2017 asking for a courtesy visit.

PAM had also highlighted 15 recommendations for building repairs to help the school preserve its structure.

Storied past

The building has a lot of history to begin with. The original owner of the land it sits on was Che Midah, a wealthy Malay woman whose photos and memorabilia can still be found in the school.

From 1878 to 1906, it was owned by the Federated Malay States (FMS) as a house for the FMS Residents and High Commissioners.

It was used as an office during the Japanese occupation, then as a Malay College Boys hostel and finally as the Government English Girls School (GEGS) in Kuala Kangsar, which was later renamed to SMK Raja Perempuan Kelsom in 1970 by the late Sultan Idris II in honour of his mother.

Architect Arthur Benison Hubback, who also designed several other notable buildings in the country, renovated it to its current design in 1906.

In 1962, the building was taken over by GEGS under headmistress N.C. Partridge until she retired in 1976.

Former Malay College Kuala Kangsar student and International Council on Monuments and Sites (Icomos) Malaysia council member Rosli Mohd Ali visited the school earlier and said the community must appreciate the importance of heritage buildings.

“The buildings should be preserved as it is unique and bears witness to history.

“The roof showed no warping or any sign of rotting but it was just slightly weighed down after a long period of time. There was no need to take the whole thing out,’’ Rosli said.

“They should not have disturbed the original state of the building as this is not in line with heritage conservation,” he added.

Rosli also feared that certain irresponsible parties had taken advantage of the situation to recycle the century-old timbers as it can fetch a high value in the market.

“In Australia, contractors that demolish old buildings will take materials of heritage value and recycle it in other renovations.

“It might be what happened here and I suspect there is a syndicate doing the same thing in Malaysia,” he said.

Still a chance for repair

Rosli added that there was still a chance to replace the metal roof with timber.

“However, this will come after the school is listed as a heritage site when there will be a federal budget for restoration,” he explained.

However, he said that restoring the original timber would be difficult as the materials that had stood intact for more than 112 years were no longer produced or easily available.

MGS/GEGS/RPK Alumni Association president Mabel Muttiah said JKR should have clear perimeters while repairing a building.

“They should have checked with the relevant departments about century-old buildings and they should have known that the school was old.

“I was also told that the repair works were expected to be completed by Nov 30 and students were then supposed to move back to the school,” she said.

A letter has been sent to Perak JKR department about the existing condition and the future of the heritage building on Sept 20 but there has been no reply yet, she said.

Meanwhile, calls to the National Heritage Department for comments on the issue proved futile.

When contacted, Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik said the school building was not on the department’s national heritage list.

“Regardless, we are concerned if the repair work has affected the heritage value of the building.

“The department will carry out investigations into the issue,” he said.

Source: The Star

Idiots on the LRT

Ive noticed that they are a lot of idiots on the LRT that don’t seem to know the basic concept of keeping their body parts in their own part of the seat. They spread their legs or arms wide that it take more space than their own seats. I’m not talking about fat people who naturally don’t fit, that’s another different matter entirely. These are normal sized people.

I’ve had to told off several of these idiots already in the space of a couple of months. What’s even more grating is that when told to keep to their own space not only do they not apologize or even look guilty but do it grudgingly and most don’t seem to understand the concept of one seat for one person. How were people raised that even basic manners and etiquette also they don’t seem to know?

Btw I’ve had experienced this with Malays, Chinese ane Indians, so no racing pls.

The Sabah Forestry Department headquarters was also raided.

Sources said a team of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigators went to the department in Sandakan yesterday morning, spending several hours searching for important documents.

“They were looking for certain licensing documents,” said a Forestry Department source.

The investigating team was looking for logging deals signed by the previous Barisan Nasional state government, headed by former chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.

Sabah Conservator of Forests Datuk Sam Mannan was attending a conference in Kuching when the raids were conducted.

The department head gave no indication if he was aware of any MACC probe at his department.

It is learnt that during the raids by three separate MACC teams at the logging company offices – two in Sandakan and one in Tawau – documents pertaining to logging were seized.

It is understood that the companies raided belonged to the “big three” Sabah loggers who had allegedly obtained major logging concessions across the state.

Neither MACC deputy commissioner for operations Datuk Azam Baki or Sabah MACC chief Sazali Salbi could be reached for comment over the raids.

The raids came in the wake of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal ordering a log export ban that was, among others, aimed at breaking up a timber cartel that had been monopolised by one party for more than a decade.

Shafie had said that the timber “extraction, buyer and seller” were all one group that had monopolised the trade that brought little direct spin-offs to the people and the economy.

A crackdown on illegal logging last month revealed that government-linked and public-listed companies were among more than 10 concessionaires investigated for breaching forestry laws in Sabah.

Over 40,000 logs, worth millions of ringgit in taxes alone, were seized from commercial forests and forest reserves in Tongod, Sandakan, Ranau and Kalabakan between July 5 and 14.

The new state government has restored the special committee under the Chief Minister’s Department to oversee all logging-related activities and to also enforce and execute laws under the Forestry Enactment 1968.'

Syabas Sabah, this is the effect of taking action and getting rid of the parasites and not being a safe deposit anymore instead of keep blaming peninsular rakyat rob your state but keep voting same bunch of crooks that was actually robbing all Malaysians.
Just wondering if anyone knows whats the latest status on this committee. Heard a lot for the economic one, but seems silent on this one (I might be wrong and have missed the news though). Read on their website they're supposed to present findings 16th July 2018. Did they?

Personally, this is the most important thing they need to do now in order not to enable future government to abuse and ruin the country.
