MSi GPU Warranty

So my MSi GTX 1050 Ti already showing signs of dying like graphical artifacts/crash/black screen when it is stressed (playing games). It's only over a year and rarely used to play games.

Since it has 3 years warranty, I'm going to send back to the seller to claim warranty.

I'm wondering if MSi will be just going to repair it or they are going to replace me with a used or new one?

From experience, repaired gpu won't last long and worse, can't be used at all once they send it back.

Dust inside LED TV screen

I bought a 40" LED TV last year. Not even 1 year, I noticed several dust specks under the screen. They can't be wiped since it's squeeze between the layer of the LED screen.

At first I thought they are dead pixels. But upon close examination from different angles, they looked like dust particles stuck inside the screen. I ignored them since from my viewing distance I can't see them. Last week I noticed there was another dark dot on the TV. I thought it must be small insect or dirt but when I tried to removed it, it won't bulge. It's another speck of dust the size of 1-2 pixels.

I can see it even when I view the TV 5-6 feet away in white background. Called Sony and they sent 2 technicians to check whether those dots are dead pixels or dust. The technicians inspected it and said those dark spots are not dead pixels and said this issue is not covered in the warranty. So they won't do anything about it.

I'm wondering if there are techniques to remove the speck of dust inside the screen by myself? I'm trying to softly knock the screen with my fingertip hoping the dust will fell below or at the edge of the screen but no dice so far.

Wi-Fi Problem

Can't access internet even though my phone connected to the wifi. It happens randomly and only happened to phones/tablets (e.g. Android/iOS). But when I use netbook/laptop and PC to connect wirelessly, no problem at all. Weird...

Changed to new Dlink modem, the same problem. Changed wireless channel, same problem. Changed WPA-PSK to WEP, same problem.

I really can't brain why only phones/tablets can't connect but when I try to connect using laptop or PC, it connected without a problem and I can surf the net like normal.

The phones connected to the wifi, it just that they have no internet.

I also changed the phone settings to use static IP, DHCP, and disable the feature of the "auto wifi turn off when sleep" or any power saving features. All cannot solved the problem.

Wired connection is not affected as well.

==========================================================================

And so now there's new problem, the wifi on the modem is on and I can connect to the internet through LAN, but on all of my devices cannot connect wirelessly.

On the phone it always keep scanning and when try to select the wireles SSID and connect, nothing happened. For this problem, it happened on all devices.

All my modem is single channel only at 2.4ghz.

These problem really makes me scratch my head and pissed.

Where to Buy PS3 Controller Original

Since Sony outlets no longer sell it, where can I find original product. Game shops/online got plenty of similar prices (around RM189) but hesitate to buy since the fake controller looks almost 100% identical like the original.

How to deal...

In in social sciences and to test hypotheses, I need to collect data from employees working in a public departments. While some are very kind and cooperative, I also met some that are very difficult to work with. For example, requesting permission to conduct a research - some officers from the management level unwilling to cooperate and demonstrate an attitude that they are not interested or even give me lansi attitude, they way they speak is pretty impolite.

Also, some give empty promises and keep delaying, even though I always follow up with them. I try my best to be nice, approachable and polite when I deal with them but apparently it doesn't always work.

This is the reason my data collection has been delayed. Don't want to sound like complaining much, just need opinions how you guys deal with this situation to expedite your research.

Power Backup for PS3 & TV

My area always suffer from power outage. Usually blackout for few seconds to several minutes then power resume back. I'm very concern it will damage my ps3 since it operates like PC with hard disk. I need a power back up unit so I can shut down my ps3 properly when blackout.

So if you guys are using some sort of power backup unit that can handle 1 unit of ps3 slim and 1 tv. Not sure can use PC power backup unit or not. Maybe ps3 and tv consume more power than PC so I need a different one?

How many specific objectives do you have in your doctoral thesis?

How many research hypothesis/ questions do you have?

In terms of methodology:

Do you use cross-sectional or longitudinal design or other types of design?

Do you conduct qualitative analysis? Quantitative analysis? Or combine both? (Mixed methods)

Do you simply adopt or adapt existing scales or maybe develop your own?

Do you use self-rating or multiple ratings in data collection?

I'm just curious to know.

About Co-supervisor

Do you have a co-supervisor for your master's or PhD research?

I do have a co supervisor for my PhD. I'm a little confuse of the actual role that a co supervisor plays in our research. Do we have to meet co supervisor as much as meeting the main supervisor? I felt kinda awkward to meet my co supervisor since she's the type that kinda difficult to deal with. I prefer to work with my main supervisor. It's even more difficult to deal when the main and co have conflicting ideas.
