[ASUS] Refund with Cash ? Is it a thing ?

I have waited for 8 days and I have lost my patience. I called the RCMY (Asus Royal Club) Low Yat but the number is off for the whole freaking day ! I called the hotline number and asked the status of my laptop.. You know what the operator says ?

I'm just speculating of course. One thing I know is I am very pissed off about this,

Any ASUS rep want to say anything ? I'm coming there tomorrow to Low Yat to bash the place.

As of now, I called the number +6032 1100 842 and it just gets disconnected straight away.

Hey guys, need advices here.

Firstly, I am not complaining about bad services, I just want to know what you guys think of this.

Around November 2013, my laptop ASUS A43S suddenly could not be charged. I assumed the motherboard was burnt or something so I went to ASUS service centre. For some reasons, I had to go back to my home country for three months.

Before I forgot, yes; my laptop is still under warranty.

At around the end of February, I called ASUS service center from my country and they said my laptop's status is ready (I here assumed it was ready to be picked up). So, yesterday, I came to ASUS service center, wanting to pick my laptop up. But the guy there told me that my laptop cannot be fixed and there's nothing they can do to fix it, and they have sent my laptop to somewhere they themselves don't seem to know. However, they promised me to refund my laptop with cash equals to the price of the laptop when I bought it (2499 RM)

Initially, I was understanding regarding this problem. What pissed me off was first, don't say the laptop is ready when it's really not. Secondly, you cannot just throw away customer's laptop without their approval. Furthermore, the HDD in the laptop is the one I bought extras because the 750GB ASUS HDD is just can't make it to my needs. and my priceless data is there (

So, what they told me was, I need to go back and give them the ASUS HDD along with the invoice when I bought it, in the meantime they will look for my laptop and and take out my HDD and give it to me. And they're going to make a letter (it was called CN letter/number ? I forgot) that I can use to refund my money (2499 RM) in any ASUS dealer.

My question is,
Is this refunding thing really a thing ? I worry that they lied because there wasn't really any written statement regarding this.
Any ASUS reps/techs/ anyone who knows how this works care to explain ?

Electrical Engineering : Monash VS Nottingham ?

I'm a foreign student and I have got both offers from Monash and Nottingham University in Malaysia. But I don't which one to choose. I currently live in Subang, and Monash would be suitable for me but I heard Nottingham is better than Monash. I'm so confused. Can you guys like give me some advices ? like the pros and cons of each university, including the environment and all other things ? I've been to semenyih before. I don't mind living in a remote area but I do mind about the crime rate. I've been living in Malaysia and I got robbed twice, definitely not good experiences to remember. I know there's a lot of similiar threads here but It didnt help me much.

From all the information I have gathered,
I can conclude this . (correct me guys if I'm wrong )

MONASH UNIVERSITY :

PROS

Located in city, everything is close
Small campus, get to know everyone
It's one of the best (G8)
It's accredited by Malaysian board (not sure about this)
It's closer to my current residence (although i can move)

CONS

Lots of distractions to study
High cost of living
One year longer than UNott

UNOTT

PROS
Better than monash (well lots of my friends say so, not sure about this..)
Low cost of living
nice environment
Will take me away from clubs , malls, everything that distracts me
same duration will get me MEng while in Monash ill get BEng (not sure about this..)
Large, awesome campus

CONS
Located in a really, really remote area
I heard the 3 years duration course is not accredited ?
It's far from my current residence. ( I gotta adapt, move my things, etc )

Help me guys, I have 2 weeks left to decide. Basically I'm more like a city person, but I don't know whether ill be okay living in a remote area. but nottingham looks cooler than monash.

Help me.
