Faulty / Old Electronics

Hope I'm posting this question in the right section..

Curious to find out if there is any shops in Klang Valley (prefer Petaling Jaya area) that buy / accept old electric or electronic items?

E.g. I have an aircond that the outdoor unit is spoiled, but I'm sure there are parts like the indoor unit that is still working just fine. It does not make sense for me to repair, but someone with the skill or interest can salvage or recondition the unit? I think it is a pity to waste everything.

Also, I am thinking to update my ceiling lights. They are still working. Is there any place that would buy old lights? again, I am hoping not to just throw these away since they still work.

Hi,

I've got a Kindle Fire and Kindle e-ink, both of which are malfunctioning currently. Hoping that somebody can help / recommend someone who can help fix Kindle either in KL/Selangor or Penang.

Also, wonder if there is anyone who might know where to source spare parts for the Kindle Fire? I think the problem is in the touch screen. If can source a 2nd hand working replacement screen, I'd really appreciate it as well.

WTA fix Kindle Fire

I have a 1 year old Kindle Fire (Model No. D01400) that just stopped working properly suddently. The touchscreen doesn't respond correctly to my gestures, and especially when trying to type using the keyboard, it keeps inputting the rightmost character on the row, no matter what I try to type.

I have tried hard reset, and have tried factory reset as well, but the problem is still the same.

Wondering if there is anyone in the community who knows someone or who is able to fix Kindle, as it is no point for me to send it back to amazon for replacement?

I have a Samsung Ultrabook, i5, 11' silver, 8GB RAM DDR3, bought in May 2012 and now it seems the motherboard and the HHD got problem... already past warranty so no point bringing it back to Samsung to fix.

[WTA] Help Fix BlackBerry Bold 9700

I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700, used just a little over one year (past warranty already ). Right now the problem is that the screen keeps on freezing up. Don't know what caused the problem. Everything else is working - can make calls, sms, listen to music etc... until the screen freezes up again, then have to restart the unit.

Can anyone help? Please PM. I'm based out of PJ/KL.

WTF Nokia E72 VNC - Urgent?

Hi,

I'm going to be conducting a presentation of a mobile application, but since this is going to be presented to a room full of people, it will need to be via a computer with a mobile simulator or a VNC (preferable, since this would show the actual capabilities of the mobile app)

Since I have a Nokia E72, I'd like to get a VNC to run off this device. Would appreciate if anyone can recommend what software and where to get it?

I'm looking to buy a netbook. Currently eyeing the Acer Aspire One, MSI Wind and Lenovo S10. Hope can find out pro/con from everyone.

Purpose:
Home / travel use, bt, word processing, movies, music, picture dl & editing.

Concern:
- Battery life (I'm so used to a 6-cell batt on my notebook, I don't think I'd survive very long with a 2+ hr batt life ... )
- Heat (I don't want the computer to melt my bookbag! )
- Speed (Main concern. Which netbook has best spec, and can upgrade to 2GB? I have a bad habit of opening multiple browser windows and documents sometimes - listening to music while downloading and reading documents.... )

Preference would be those around 10-12' monitor. And I don't neccessarily have to have those three models listed earlier. Wouldn't mind other suggestions. But brand confidence is a must.

Looking for Acer ATX529 LCD Monitor

Want to refurbish an old Acer ATX529 Laptop. Just planning to use it for basic stuff - major physical wear and tear anticipated. The whole thing still works fine, but the LCD monitor is burned out.

Just wondering if anyone out there can recommend a 2nd hand or compatible monitor that I can get to replace? And who can help me to replace?
