Slim CPL necessary on UWA?

I've read that UWAs require the use of slim CPL filters to reduce vignetting, while I've also read that we can use the normal thickness CPL as long as we avoid stacking it on top of other filters i.e. UV.
Anyone with a UWA care to comment? I have a 10-22 lens - not sure to get slim CPL or normal CPL.

Why Beautiful Women Marry Less Attractive Men

QUOTE

The reason, researchers suspect, is that men place great value on beauty, whereas women are more interested in having a supportive husband.
"The husband who's less physically attractive than his wife is getting something more than maybe he can expect to get," McNulty told LiveScience. "He's getting something better than he's providing at that level. So he's going to work hard to maintain that relationship."
Men who are more attractive than their partners would theoretically have access to partners who are more attractive than their current spouses, McNulty said. The "grass could be greener" mentality could make these men less satisfied and less committed to maintain the marriage.
Physical attractiveness of husbands is not as important to women, the researchers suggest. Rather, wives are looking for supportive husbands, they say.

GRE general paper

Has anyone taken the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) general paper (or other specific papers) before?
<FYI: you need to take it before you can enroll for US-styled postgrad programmes>

Info required:
1. Where did you take it?
2. Comments on stuff asked + difficulty level etc.

Planning to take it soon as it is a pre-requisite for a post-grad programme I'm aiming for; any info/comments would be much appreciated.
C++ string to double up to specified decimal place

I've tried converting string representation of floating point number (i.e. "0.3") into a double using stringstream, strtod(), atof() but the results are always 0.29999999999.

Anyone knows a method that will convert "0.3" to 0.3?

MBM5 is back

If you've been o/c for a while you would have used Motherboard Monitor 5 (MBM5), a superb tool for temp/voltage/fan monitoring.

Unfortunately the developer Alex stopped work on MBM5 around 2004 leaving us to use the (sometimes crappy) mobo manufacturer's utilities... until now...

Alex + FreeCableGuy from xtremesystems have developed a plug-in to monitor core temp on Intel Core™ based procs - the Core, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Core-based Xeons.

The plug-in allows reading the core temp from the DTS sensors on the die itself - something which CoreTemp/TAT is already doing - but MBM5 can display this on the sys tray + dashboard.

I'm using it right now and it's great to be back on MBM5.

D/l here

Real Life thread

Suggest a new thread/sub-thread dealing with real life issues that every Malaysian has to deal with esp:

1. Taxes i.e. income, tanah, pintu etc
2. EPF/SOCSO
3. Bank Loans (not relating to study/car loans) i.e. housing loans

as these issues are always popping out everywhere (how to pay income tax? what is Borang J? how to apply loan?) and would be nice and informative to have all the information in one thread.

Just a suggestion.
