Bent concrete beam/uneven ceiling

I removed the cornices from my ceiling cos I was aiming for the semi-industrial look for my new house. After all the cornices were removed we realised that they were put in there to cover up the shoddy workmanship i.e. bad cementing of the joints between the horizontal beam and the ceiling. My contractor said he'd do his best to make the ceiling level thru plastering. Unfortunately, there's only so much that can be done. The ceiling is not straight.

To make matters worse, the beam is also not straight and sags down in the middle.

How can I rectify it without 1. putting back the cornice 2. doing a plaster ceiling, which means lowering the ceiling height which my wife loves.
